Hey, that’s sad to note. I am a FIAT user for last 5 years (3 years of Adventure Sport and 2 years of Linea Emotion PK pertrol, done 25,000 kms). I am extremely happy with the performance, quality, feature, service and spare availability of the car. I recently serviced after 12 months (as its 15,000... or 12 months whichever is earlier). The car was picked up, dropped and all oil changes and servicing done for 4,000 bucks. This is the amount I spend for servicing my Honda City S-MT each time for 4 times a year. This mean, I spend 12,000 more every year to service the Honda City. Also, there is no issue with the fit and finish of the car. There is no issue with the overall performance of the car. It must be a one off case. Bad luck! If I compare the service between by Honda City and Linea, then, I will rate both at par to say the least.Read More

There are close to 20,000 lineas on road in India (averaging 1100 cars a month, which makes it almost close to number of cars like Fiesta and SX4 sold in last 18 months). Probably this is the only case of engnine seize reported or at least I have come across in Linea. Also, looks like, you as an own...er have also have some negligence on your part. The dealer can be a spoil sport. I have seen dealers, who have been a Mahindra Logan dealer for 6 months, then Rhino dealer for 6 months and then becoming Hyundai or Honda dealers. The short sighted dealers are after all opportunistic and have little affinition towards the car and the car manufacturers. Hence, you may have been in the hand of a wrong dealer. As suggested by someone, you should have tried another one. But none the less, a TATA dealer must take care of your car and the very fact that he is selling the car, he has 100% accountability to resolve your issues. I have not seen any other manufacturer other than FIAT actually listening to their customers directly and getting involved in resolving issues. My brother in-law had some small issue, and he reported this to FIAT directly and he was personally called by Rajeev Kapoor, CEO, Fiat India. Hence, please take it up with FIAT directly and it may help. Having owned Maruti, Hyundai, Fiat and Honda in the past, my experience is similar with all the dealers. It is only situational that, you happen to be in wrong place or with faulty product, which can be on in thousands. We as a family own a FiAT Linea and New Honda City. Our experience with both the car dealers in providing after sales service in Mumbai is same. All the best!Read More

Hi! I own a Linea for almost a year now (1.4 petrol emotion pk) and driven around 13,000kms. The mileage will stabilize around 9.5-10kmpl in city with 100% AC on (mumbai city). This will happen after 3000kms. Also the engine will become smoothers and peppier after 3000-4000kms. You will get a feelin...g that, the engine is very different from what you actually had when it was new. But the 2nd gear lag will remain though will be much lesser.Read More

Mileage will improve after 1st service. I am getting between 9.5 to 10 kmpl in Mumbai city for last 10 months with 100% AC on. Also, the engine performance will improve considerably after 3000 kms.

Hi! I have a petrol car. I have no issues with the AC. And, you got a spare car? That not heard of, and its a great gesture by the dealer. Are there any other manufacturer, extend this luxury to their customers when they have some issues like this with their new cars???

Mileage will improve as you drive more than 3000 kms. Also suggest, you keep your instant mileage calculator mode on (If you have that in your Dynamic model) to check the way you drive and mileage you get. Good roads doesn't necessarily mean good mileage. Good road with the opportunity to drive in 4...th and 5th gear means good mileage. I drive a petrol linea in Mumbai city and I am getting around 9.5kmpl with 100% a/c on and my car has done about 2700kms (This average on a mid to extremely heavy traffic stretch driving). On a mid-traffic stretch, I am able to get as much as 12kmpl in city with 100% a/c on.So, just be patient. As far as your antenna is concerned, there are many internal antennas you get in the market which can be fitted inside, on the top of your front wind-screen.Read More

I guess, its bad luck for you for having this faulty car. There are more than 10,000 lineas on road, and not many have reported major fault with the car. Suggest, you log into www.team-bhp.com and someone will be able to help you with right number to contact.

Hi! I use a Linea Petrol car for last 3 months. By going through the reviews, I understand that you haven't read the manual. Also, you have done the very basic, which is insert the key, put the gear and drive. Which is alright, but suggest, you read the manual. All the issues you have mentioned are ...non-issues in this car. Blue and me works for me 9 out of 10 times. You need to know how to speak on the system. Also, since its western english, you need to twist the name a bit and say, it works perfectly. Try using any english names like may be George, Mike, Stephen it will work perfectly. For Indian names, you need to speak slow. Suggest, you visit www.team-bhp.com and read about the car's features. There is a complete thread explaing Linea's features and how to use them. As far as mileage is concerned, please use the instant mielage calculator while you drive, it will correct you in a great way you drive. It will actually help you get more mileage from the same car. I am getting 10kmpl plus with 100% A/C on in Mumbai city in my petrol. You getting 12kmpl in diesel cites something is wrong, most probably the way you drive. Fiat Linea 1.3 diesel does 0-100 in 15 seconds. Skoda Octavia does it just under 14 seconds. Does this then qualify the car to be called a 'no power' car? Think again!Read More

Of Course it does! Especially, when you pay same amount for some other cars and get much lesser. Worst is, when you pay more for certain cars and get even lesser. Hope you understand, which cars I mean.

Hi!Debajani, Sorry to hear that. But my borther-in-law owns a linea and he too got super response from Fiat as far as service is concerned. He also had 2 engineers fly down from Pune to rectify his issues. I guess its more of a hype towards FIAT cars. We tend to blame FIAT immediately after we have ...issues. My neighbour has nightmare issues with the Honda Civic, but that never gets reported. He has sent his car more than 6-7 times to the service centres on some engine issues. I will recommend, if you can write a separate review about your good experience with the car as well, since many people may not get into the comments to actually read about how good you feel now about owning this Italian beauty. By the way, it 'Fix It Again Tony' and not 'Tommy'. Happy motoring.Read More

Well Sachin, that a very difficult question. You need to weigh your priorities. Honda City is lighter, peppier and has excellent gearshift and steering. It also has good interiors. While Linea has drop dead looks, superb ride and handling, suspension and much more to offer than the City at that pric...e. Honda has one of the poorest back seat ride. Honda scores more on service, but Linea is catching up. So, if you want loads of style, comfort and value, its Linea, but need peppier drive go for Honda. If you are going to sit in the back seat, means a driver to drive you around, better consider Linea.Read More

Well, it gave me just above 9kmpl with 100% a/c in city in the very fist refill (I have done about 500kms on the ODO). The second one seems to be a notch above 10kmpl. My feeling is it will settle around 11kmpl in Mumbai city with 100% a/c after 1st servicing which is after 3000kms. My NHC also gave... 9kmpl in the 1st refill and is settling round 11kmpl in city with 100% a/c on after 4000kms on the ODO.Read More

Hi! After owning this car for precisely 3 years, my rating of ownership of this car is 10/10. The suspension behaved the same was as it did when I bought it. Finally driving this for about 44000kms, in all possible terrain, I parted with the car on 3rd August 2009. I got about 40% return on the buyi...ng price of this car after exactly 3 years. The car gave me consistently 9+ kmpl in Mumbai city with 100% A/C on. No issues what-so-ever. Good service back up by Shaman and Wasan. I feel very happy to have owned this great car for 3 years. I have gone for another FIAT, i.e. Fiat Linea and awaiting delivery of the car.Read More

Hello Friends, post a gruelling 10 days of thought and cross comparison, I decided to go for the Linea Emotion PK petrol. This morning I drove both Diesel and Petrol again to make sure, which one should I book. I found Diesel to be powerful post 1500 RPM, but looses it post 4000 RPM. The Diesel was ...super silent while idling, but noisy (Like any other diesel) while revving. Petrol on the other hand was super smooth. With right use of Clutch and Accelerator, I found petrol to be more delight to drive than the diesel. Once again, suspension and handling is class leading. All those back seat travellers, look no further and this can be a great car in that department. For me, its a start of another love affair with Fiat (The first one was for 3 year, with Fiat Adventure, which ended earlier this month). Happy motoring!!!Read More

Thanks very much for your suggestions. Well, I am looking for value for money, as well as status value. I guess Linea gives a the status when you compare to Honda, SX4, Verna and Fiesta. But its a tad lower to Corolla, Octavia and Civic. From the sheer looks, it crosses all the cars mentioned above ...in status value. I am still not sure, but I am more towards Linea.Read More

Why don't you write to the Fiat India CEO directly. Or rather write to Fiat Italy. MY brother in law owns a linea and he is pretty happy with the post sales. There could be isolated cases like yours and you must not hesitate in highlighting to italy. trust me, they are responsive.

Good review. The reason why everyone feels this car little slow to react to the vroom is, this car is almost 1200kg in weight. Swift is a much lighter car to this one. Ever sat in the back seat of a swift? Its little better than a three wheeler. Well, in my opinion, people must buy cars keeping a lo...t of things in mind, wiht the common ones being, looks, mileage, servicing, engine pick up and the other very crucial ones being the ride, handling, safety features, interior quality, stability at high speed etc.Read More

Great to know! How would you rate the overall feel, I mean the status factor with the Linea. Do you have people percieving it as another mid-size car, or you get the feel from people as owning a luxury mid-size sedan (The way, people associate witht the Honda City).

I am not sure, if you have read the user manual fully. If not, please do that immediately. If, you have, then, I have couple of points to make 1. The A/C I have experienced is very good. If you put your car in Automatic climate control, due to its automated features, you may feel lesser cooling, b...ut feeling like a cooler....! Its surprising. Try the manual control of the AC. 2. I have driven a car whcih has done 4500kms plus, petrol. I found the car engine to be very smooth and responsive (barring 2nd gear). The ride and suspension was top class. The fit and finish has been above average, if not top class in Linea. May be it is specific to your car. 3. Linea is on the road for last 4 months, I am yet to come across any post, which complains so profusely about the post sales service. Suggest, you write to Fiat (the e-mail ID is there on www.fiat-india.com website) Read More
