Hope any FIAT guys are reading this !!! This is my very first review on Mouthshut. I have been a huge fan of this site from a long time for different categories. Whenever I have gone to purchase any electronic gadgets. I have always referred the reviews from this site.


Recently after a year of research we decided to purchase Fiat Grande Punto emotion Multijet-Electric Blue, as we were eagerly waiting for its launch from a long time.Also the reason was that we were unable to sell off our five year old Alto to purchase a new car which actually gave us time to do a lil research on various hatches in this segment. Initially we were sticking to Swift VDI but was lil apprehensive for its ugly looks and the delivery period which is extremely long and irritating.


RD motors (Tata motors) had been very efficient enough to deliver the car by 23rd july after completing all the formalities on time. We knew that the stunning looks will surely be a head turner on the busy roads of Kolkata. We were feeling as the proud owners of the car till one week.


But hey !!!Little did we know that what was waiting for us under this solidly built 1190kgs -1248 CC car. Faulty and defective parts....Somebody has said it correctly-(FIAT) Fix it again Tommy.


Today 1 month and eight days have gone, I can say that our car has spent more number of days in the service centre than with us. Just after a week, we found that our central locking was not working and the doors wasnt getting locked automatically, wiper started making strange sound (since it is raining everyday nowadays) and while every morning we start our car , as soon as I accelerate, there is a strange sound (as if something is loose or something is hitting under the belly) coming frm right under the chasis. This continues for 2-3 kms and then vanishes. There is no further sound for the rest of the day. We took it to the service centre, although they have change the locks and now the central locking is working but they could not get the sound because it happens only in the morning. We have taken to the service centre several times and have left the car for their inspection but strange they could not get the sound. I know this may sound a bit strange but whenever we are taking the car from our parking lot every morning even now (after paying 4-5 visits to the service centre) the sound irritate us. Though today thankfully one of the service engineers have got the sound and trying to rectify on it. (today my car is llying in some other service stations)


Nowadays we are doing research on service stations only as that is our daily site to visit. Thanks to FIAT!!!


Next ordeal was when within a month left side indicator got fused. Again we had to take it to the nearest service centre to our ofc and thanks to them that they had a spare fuse (same as that of linea). Just three days back, when I went to the petrol pump to buy diesel. To my utter surprise, the lid of the fuel flap was not opening. Seemed that the lever to open the flap wasnt working anymore. And we could not buy diesel. Again a visit to the service centre, when we were showing the same to the engineer , we found the plastic which covers the opening of the seat belt right beside the drivers seat is broken as the same came out in my hand just with a gentle pull. Today also our car is lying at the service centre , and I must say that the fact for which Fiat is not getting popular is not because of the service as Tata is trying their best to provide better service and have changed all the parts immediately, but it is the FIAT who is only selling such cheap faulty parts inside such beautifully looking car. I doubt the cars which are coming from Ranjangaon are inspected or not.


We have written several emails feedbacks to FIAT, but no-one cares to reply even....


We had bought this car with whole lot of expectations but may be number of paid visits to the service stations is making our life miserable.


After using Maruti for five years with almost nil visits to the service stations, this I think is taking too much of our patience.


Or , is this the case with us only. I dont know.. Guys please share with me if any of you is in same trouble like mine..
