Nice review for a bad movie. To me, Kandasamy was one long, tedious, never ending and boring experience. The rooster stuff was ridiculous. It seemed as if the locations were decided first and plot / screenplay was decided as and when needed on the sets! No continuity... Vikram should choose bette...r scripts in future.Read More

Your review looks more like a collection of news items and box office reports. There is no review.

Very nice review and completely agree with your views. I saw it in the IMAX and it was my best movie watching experience ever. Nothing comes even close!

Hmm.. There is not much that i agree to in your review but.. hey it is your review and your opinion. IMO this was the best Batman movie and the best summertime blockbuster in the last 3-4 years. Awesome performance from the Joker, good special effects, mindblowing action backed with solid stor...y and screenplay. It was a tad too long but I am not going to complain cos i never felt bored or jaded. Worth every bit of the hype. I am happy that they took batman out of the comic book mode. I agree that this one is not for kids.Read More

Narayan - How true! I Completely agree with your comments. My only crib with Rajni in this movie is.. being a seasoned actor for more than 30 years in multiple languages, why does he let himself get 'used' by the likes of P Vasu. I hope Robot is a 2009 release and not 2010!

Nice review. The movie is below average despite Rajni but one cannot expect anything better from the likes of P Vasu. Read and rate my review too!

Story: Kuselan is the story of how the life of a poor, simple and honest barber Balakrishnan(Pasupathi) gets affected by the arrival of a movie star, his childhood friend Ashok Kumar(Rajinikanth) in his small town. The film takes us though how the behavior of people around Pasupathi change wh...Read more

True, I agree. Screenplay could have been tighter with lesser kamals as diversions. On the flaws, I agree.. logic has been compromised in favor of thrills and entertainment. I hope he makes up for these letdowns in Marmayogi and still retains the value of entertainment. Coming to Rajni, I think h...e is a very good actor who has not used his acting talents well. I like all his movies except the last 3.. Baba, Cmukhi and Sivaji. I don't know why he sticks to directors like P Vasu and Shankar! I am sure the younger crop of directors can get all the untapped acting skills of superstar! He has let himself be stereotyped into certain roles! At this stage of his career where anything he does will be a hit, I wish he gives importance to script and new ideas rather than same old 6 songs and 6 fights mass masala concept. There are Simbu's and Vijay's to do such stuff. It is a pity..Read More

Hi Roger, Well, I personally don't feel that only serious stories are good. A good concept or theme can be a good story also. I am not saying that Dasa's screenplay was the best but I didnt find it as a let down also. It was fairly ok for this movie. Every director has a style.. Balu Mahendra was... good in his own way... Kamal has his own style and It may take a few more attempts before he can produce a masterpeice. I think Guna was Kamal's equivalent of Vikram's pitamagan.. he has already done such roles and I think that is why he is looking for something new. Anyway, I think both of us are saying the same thing in a slightly different way... small difference in perspective. In my review I have mentioned why I rated it 5 stars. I would like to add that, if i have to compare this with only other Kamal movies then 3 or 3.5 stars would be appropriate. Here, I compared Dasa with other 'Entertainer' type movies in the past 3-4 years and came up with the rating.Read More

Well, the movie has already been seen by a huge number of people even after the 4th week and it has been declared as a superhit. So, it seems viewership is certainly not a problem. But, I agree that the same concept could have been told differently with less focus on technology and make ups. It ...is a nice and simple story.Read More

Ok, then i misunderstood your point. To be frank, I also prefer to see him act with his normal face rather than go behind masks. Technology is no substitute to good stories and screenplays. I am a big fan of Aamir khan and I feel Dil Chahta Hai is one of the best indian movies ever made. I like ...Kamal way of experimenting too.. after all someone needs to highlight the importance of technology, complex story telling, alternate screenplays etc.. Virumandi was a good example for different screenplay, Hey Ram for story and Anbe Sivam for theme and message. Nice revu..Read More

From your point #1 it is clear that you did not understand the movie. When he made near perfect movies like anbe sivam, het ram and guna, no one came to the theaters so it is obvious that he has not tried to be perfect. In what way was any religion insulted??

I think Kamal made compromises in the script because movies like Guna, Mahanadhi and Anbe Sivam were box office disasters. I think he did the right thing as he cannot afford to add more that list. Experimentation makes ultimate sense and no one else has the guts to come up with new storylines, etc. ...I am not sure what you want Kamal to learn from Aamir Khan!! Aamir is a good actor who acts is good quality movies but in terms of new stories or variations in acting there is hardly any. It is the same Aamir in all his movies. Same style of delivering dialogue and everything else. And yes, Kamal does make it a point to add in the end that he does not believe in God... being agnostic, i liked that bit. I agree that Dasa cud have been better in terms of quality of make up, technical effects and a more cohesive script. Fair review buddy!Read More

I dont believe in absolute ratings... When I compare Dasa with other Tamil movies that came in last 3-4 years, I rate it 5 * because I feel it is a very good entertainer. If I have to rate it only against other Kamal Haasan movies then i'd have it at 3.5 stars. Anyway, difference of opinions and ...different perspectives is what makes this world so interesting and worth living in. Keep writing! -NaveenRead More
