About two years back I had bought a 3 piece sofa set with one 3 seater, one 2 seater and one 1 seater. I'm still using it as I feel the pain to throw it after spending so much. When I bought the sofa the sales guy told me it's genuine leather in body touching areas. I know why leather is and ...Read more

Hello rkg_007. In my view point, petrol swift is the good choice for you. Since your average running is around 950km per month, your approximate monthly expense for fuel (petrol) is around Rs.6,100, if petrol price is calculated at Rs.70/lr and vehicle mileage as 11km/lr. If you go with a dies...el swift, your approx monthly expense for fuel (diesel) would be around Rs.3,840, when we calculate the cost of diesel as Rs.48/lr and vehicle mileage as 12km/lr. The difference in fuel cost between petrol and diesel is about Rs.2,260 here. Since diesel cars cost atleast a lakh more than petrol cars, the EMI you pay for that additional one lakh for the diesel car would be approx Rs.2,250. So fuel + EMI for the additional 1 lakh for diesel car would make it to Rs.6,090. Here we see that diesel is only cheaper by Rs.10/- per month for you. I don't see a reason for you to go with diesel car. Even if the petrol price rises to Rs.80/lr, the additional amount for owning a petrol swift would be only about Rs.870/- per month. That gets easily covered when it comes to the maintenance of a diesel car compared to petrol vehicle.Read More

Dear snp2053 Please find my comments inline to your query I am driving santro xing oct 2006 model. It has run 63000 kms in 4.7 yrs. [joeisfrank] It is almost time for you to sell the car. It is best to sell the car between 5 - 6 years. But expect a low price for your vehicle due to the steap ...hike in petrol price. Since last 1 year, my monthly travel is 2500 kms. [joeisfrank] Diesel works out cheaper for you for such a running. I am planning to install CNG kit. Is it worth to install CNG in a 4.7 years santro xing? [joeisfrank] How much does a CNG kit cost? Above 20k? I think a good one would cost about 30k? If yes and if you have plans to sell the car in the next 12 months, I feel it is better for you to not install CNG kit because for that cost you can put petrol and then sell the car without any modifications inside the bonnet. or should I go for a diesel Car (indica v2 or vista quadrajet?). [joeisfrank] I always prefer a diesel car than a CNG fitted petrol car. You can try vista quadrajet or even maruti ritz or ford figo. Hope this helps?Read More

Hi all, I have edited this review because the cost of fuel has gone up by a good percentage from the time I published this article. Even after updating the fuel cost, I still feel petrol car is still the good choice for people whose average monthly running is not more than 1,250 KMS. Lookin...g forward for your comments and review rating.Read More

Hi mikestar20, Whether petrol or diesel engines if not used for long time is not good. The new generation diesel engines are good. But it is always better to disconnect the batteries so that the batteries last long.

Hello VSRao, since your average monthly running is 1,500KMS, I feel it is better for you to go for a petrol car. When it comes to dzire, I've driven diesel variant and not petrol. Diesel one is extremely good, powerful. Not sure whether the brakes are powerful enough compared to the engine power. Th...e car is spacious both front and rear, comfortable to sit and boot space is too good.Read More

hello Shanky, Thanks a lot for writing the comment. The maintenance cost of petrol and diesel cars will never be the same unless the wear and tear is the same. Especially in the case of Ford Fiesta, I have two friend's of mine who had fiesta diesel and had to fight with the dealers for the high ma...intenance cost and finally sold the fiesta. One guy bought a Sonata and the other guy bought a lancer and an i20. Both said, the built quality of the fiesta is very poor that after a year parts which you never expect to malfunction had to be replaced. So if you are looking to buy a fiesta whether petrol or diesel, double check and then only proceed.Read More

Hello Monty, you said it right. The feeling that we get while filling diesel at gas stations is really great. We feel such a relief. Since I have a diesel vehicle, I understand what you are saying. Many times I've even felt that I'm saving a lot by having a diesel vehicle. But then the smile on our ...face shrinks when we get the periodical maintenance bill :). I service my vehicle every 5000KMS and never I've paid less than Rs.2,500. The average amount I pay is between Rs.2750 and Rs.3,500. So...:)Read More

Hi Bluffmaster, I agree with your point that diesel vehicles will have a better resale value than petrol. But we should also take it into consideration that you have already paid Rs.1 lakh more to buy the diesel car compared to the petrol variant of the same model.

Hello Arnold, the car that you take as example does not make a difference if you are comparing the diesel and petrol variants of the same model. My review was not comparing cars, it was meant for diesel or petrol, which is the best buy for segments of people.

ABORTION

Aug 05, 2008 11:02 PM

Only a mother knows the pain she has undergone to carry the child so many months. A true mother cannot think of aborting the child because however the child is formed, its the Gift Of God. I'm confident that the child no matter what all problems it has will bring a lot of joy into the house. My... daughter is an example. When my wife was carrying her, I was sure that it is going to be a brother for my son. But then when she delivered, I was shocked to hear from the nurse that its a girl. I even thought to an extend that the hospital has exchanged the baby. But then it was not like that. God gifted us a daughter. She was yellow and I was scared to even carry her because she looked like a baby with some kind of disease. But then God spoke to me through Bible that she will bring joy to your family. The discoloration of her skin (yellowness) completely vanished. Her texture changed. She is beautiful and cute. We by the Grace of God identified no disease in her. Today she is the joy of our house. What God prophesied, He fulfilled. Praise the Lord. Please don't abort a child.Read More
