SRKs Khan movie is New York Part 3 (the other being Kurbaan since it's from a Thappar's stable, definetly flop.) Truth is I have no biasm. Heroes these days are doing so-so scripts but somehow find a way to market to the audience. For instance, Hindi Ghajni sucked compared to the Tamil original,... but aamir marketed his 8packs agressively as well as his close-cut to make the movie run more than the Tamil one did. TZP is a tear-jerker? Weren't for Aamir's involvement, guaranteed flop would've been it's fate obviously. Not that I hate aamir khan, every khan/kapoor have their flaws rather than quality. EVen in the South, lots of idiots still act like the 70s and continue to pull Rajnikant style action while trendsetters like Kamal Hassan and new directors continue to thrive and encourage different attempts.Read More

I have no biasm towards SRK or Aamir. Comparing the book to the film, books wins hands down. Here, it had a munnabhai hangover. SRK is typecasted in saleable single screen roles, Aamir prefers safezones where he can market a so-so film to the audience, so do the other khans and kapoors.

The movie was okay, but for those, who were expecting mindblowing work from the Munnabhai team of director Raju Hirani and writer, Abhijat Joshi, will be left mixed. For fans of the book, it only adapts Alok's life and sculpts Aamir's character from Ryan(who didn't see that coming?) SPOILERS ...Read more

Mr Prashant, I'm talking about movies done by Kamal Haasan, Sasikumar and good films by Mani Ratnam, not idiotic films by B-grade directors/actors or mentalkanth. And North Indians have the same cliche Hindglish dialogues while copying films from Hollywood and South. So what now?

In the past 8 years, we got films like Farhan Akthar's DIL CHAHTA HAI and LAKSHYA to portray the hero as a lazy bum who has no aim in life, but end up becoming okay in the end. Specifically, Aamir Khan from DCH is a aimless guy until he starts to take it seriously with his father's business whil...Read more

I'm disappointed and really this is coming from K.V Anand, who gave us his best in Kana Kandein with Srikanth, Gopika and introduced us one of Malayalam's promising talents, Prithiviraj Sukumaran as the villian that garnered him notable movies such as Mozhi later on. I expected Rakeysh Mehra to make Delhi 6 hit it out of the park like he did with his last hit, Rang De Basanti. The film was a far much better remake than Kuselan and Kathanayakudu. In those versions, Pee Vasu tried to glorify mentalkanth for an hour while at the same time shoehorn in Vadivelu's vulgar and double entendres. Add in Nayantara's on-the-border dance act and you end up seeing a totally bad ...Read more

I'm not into himesh that much really. And really, his lack of sound has been taking of dip lately. For example: New York Nagaram. There's second verse, where he sings decent then suddenly goes aaaah as if he forgot the lines. Not a good ad-libbing process.

The child actors were passable. Yeah, the plot sucks. But again, it portrays India in a very negative way, which got my very pissed off. Okay, I agree, India has a huge poverty level but not to a level where it encompasses the higher middle class. Aside from a passable 'Jai Ho', Rahman doesn't g...el his jarring music well here. He's made his money now and he's lost that melodious touch that we usual associate with ARR's past films. Because there's his old pal, Blaaze muttering some rap phrases, he gets a golden globe. Why? Cause Rap is the in-thing now. For a crossover film, it failed to be one. The best crossover film I've seen so far is Namesake.Read More
