Kandhasamy == More like Nondhasamy. Review on Kandhasamy Movie

Dear god, I want my 15 dollars back. Keep in mind, I went on Friday afternoon 3:30 show. Guess how many were occupant in the audience? Including me, about 6 people. Even the following 7:30 show wasn't encouraging either neither were the current B.O Collections(see post review.)

But coming back to KANDHASAMY, it's an outright disappointment. Right from frame one, the film is nothing but a hack version of Shankar's formula. Featuring a hackeyned plot that is copied from A.R Murgadoss's RAMANA(CBI FORCE) and Shankar's own ANNIYAN(Samy letters instead of Web Site Complaints). Susi Ganesan apparently thought the audience was stuck in ivory towers when it came to mass big budget movies like SIVAJI and so on(unless you're Rajnikanth or Vijay fans.)

What made CHIYAAN VIKRAM choose a film like this in the first place? Please elaborate sir. From your cocky interview, you made it sound as I quote. "Our film is more logical and reliable than that s**t KRRISH(Hrithik Roshan's film)." After seeing this Kodumai of this film, Krrish still rules. Most of the film relies on his dead body of a performance. Even that Kokoko style was a waste and further irriates the viewer. For someone that tried to challenge Kamal Haasan's DASAVATHAARAM with his avatars that was hyped up for this film as a Lady, priest, rooster hero and so on. Nothing special is seen here as it's a mere disguises barring the annoying Rooster.

Shriya Saran can give up her film career and move on to Soft Porn. Seriously? What is her purpose in her film. For a "U" certified film, she moves like it's a porn movie while the camera pans her "assets". Just like Nayantara and etc. there's no room for TALENTED actresses in Tamil Nadu Cinema, period. Gone are the days of Srividya, Revathi, Shobana, who have given great subtle movies. But the former present gen ladies are more for bold than talent.

The others I cannot say. Asish Vidhyarthi is typecast and it's evident. Telugu Padmasree Krishna is adequate. Vadivelu should retire peacefully and give viewers some relief. Prabhu looks more like a butterball than an actor and is sadly typecast. Devi Sri Prasad's music is inept and lacks any reason to be existant.

What irks me is that the film is loaded with vulgarity(i.e Kambhakqt Ishq) yet the film garners a "U" rating. Were the censors sleeping or was Kalaipuli Dhanu in bribe mode? Nevertheless, avoid this film by all means. Stick to the DVD release if you're desperate.

This Kalai "ELI"("Rat in tamil) Dhanu should learn when to open his big mouth. In fact, going by his statement that Vikram scores over Kamal Haasan("i.e, he produced Abhay and Aalavandhan with the latter, but going by his lack of distribution for the Bilingual, he suddenly cooked up negative stories with Haasan after the film bombed both versions.) After last year's disaster with Sakkarakaati, his next one is this film.

Usually, Saturday should at least make$10, 000 per print. But, Kandasamy on an average made only$1200 per print(average of 100 people watched in every theatre)
