I guess its got to to do with the driving style and the roads( highway or city). If it is in a city like bangalore, its quite an enviable figure you are getting. Our 1 1/2 yeear old Swift Zxi returns about 11 to 12 kmpl in city( bangalore) and 14 to 16 kmpl in highway.

one there pal..agree with ur concept analysis. Those images of the revolutionaries and their corelation to the characters present situations was something novel and i liked it. At the end of it, its a movie well made and though for me, u and few others may feel the killing of the minister a bit... too much, its a bollywood film where somethings have to be a bit overboard. We have been conditioned over the years to appreciate these kind of movies. Though this conditioning is slowly vanishing for good. My concern is that though we have some real gud movies( Yuva, swades and RDB) which are trying to suggest the way forward for the youth of today, somehow all of us are just appreciating the thought and moving along. To me atleast, the system seems like its beyond repair. All in all nice analysis. Keep up the gud work mate. Cheers -Muni Read More

Stumbled upon this revu by chance and u brought back the good old days.. yes it is and it was intoxicating and a sort of trance that some of us were in during that period. Well, not to the extent of what the words convey, but u kno what i mean. What i liked about your reviews( then and now...) was you would look to get in your perspective which was most of the times original and to an extent well thought and logical. Also, appreciated the objective of your reviews and the emphasis on making a balanced and unbiased portrayal with no intentions to create a stir. Some of the nice ppl who are active on this site are bound to feel a bit uneasy /offended when we get nostalgic and when we mention missing reviews of ppl who are no more active. As u mentioned, if the nu ppl go through the reviews of the ppl u mentioned, you have achieved something. But, i guess it's a matter of not having all the goodies in one basket . At any given point in time the no of gud writers(%) on this site more or less remains constant ( just trying to fit a theory in a sense :-)) I think some of us may have been guilty of failing to sustain our interests and failed to devote enuff time in reading, commenting and writing. The show still rocks.. Hope you get more time to write so we can get to read the analytical part of your views. Warm Regds -MuniRead More

We have a red zxi and i guess its the best bet at the moment. The Getz is a gud car but it loses out on value for money at the end of the day. Ur revu was totally unbiased and keep up the gud work. Hurry Home -The Sage

revu there... i have a swift zxi and can agree with most of ur observations except that the ride is a bit stiff ( helps high speed stabilty)...and one more thing i found is abit of an irritant is that any small bump or a hole produces a thud sound ( sound isnt properly damped i think?) Space is... a bit of a compromise but i think interiors are gud but doesnt feel upmarket. nice revu thre Hurry Home The SageRead More

..Things wont work here like what we expect and that is the truth. I think u may have booked the zxi or the Vxi+abs which may be the reason for the delay. Also, pls let me know with which dealer u have booked ur car. I have booked a red zxi on 20th may in sagar automobiles bangalore and was to...ld september or october...u get the point...and to top it i may be travelling abroad for abt an year and i may have to miss driving the car. Isnt that frustrating..booking a car well before its launch and to wait while all the others are driving LXi and VXi..( they say they are not delivering ZXis). The dealer says there was a production delay and there is another delay ( that helps again) and the deliveries may get delayed further. Am planning to go to the showroom this weekend and chk on the actual proof of deliveries and the way they are goin abt the priority booking. U jst hav to keep on following up. Welcome to India my friend.. BTW, Getz i think is a slighltly better car in terms of quality/space which again comes with a premium but hey u can get it in a week cant u.. The fuel tank of the unicorn can easily hold 18 ltrs..no wonder it looks likea 20 ltr tank.. I have a black Uni for abt 7 months now and cant complain that much..the fuel indicator and slightly stiff ride are OK to live with than having some engine/gear shift pblms :-) It's a silent killer fo...r sure.. those comparisons dude.. agree with most of them. very useful indeed. The interiors of the SWIFT doesnt seem to be in the same league as the GETZ. But seems better then the usual maruti crap. Also, one thing that i found a shortcoming in SWIFT is that the rear seat doesnt have sufficient thigh... support and adds salt to the slightly less leg room space. The interior side door panels quality doesnt look upto the mark. at the end of it , the price tilts the car worthiness to the minor glitches it has by a big margin. Hurry Home -The SageRead More

u covered a lot of points and your observations were pretty gud. am one among the first 8000 and the dealer says the zxi delivery will take 2 to 3 months..that's pure rubbish and i cant understand how Maruti can release lxi and vxi and not release zxi.. The booking before the launch did not he...lp me at all.. Keep revuing maite.. Hurry HomeRead More

and over the years , Hyundai guys have worked on the santro and enriched the vehicle interms of quality, looks, better service and fewer no of problems..it's come out with a new eRLX technology for better power management and fuel efficiency. the link for that http://www.santroxing.com/santrom...ain1.asp?pagename=adnew It's a stable model and a nice choice if you are on a budget say 4 to 4.4Lakhs and i would pick it over the Zen. but as far as performance goes, it's slightly underpowered..its 82 bhp or something and about 1080 kgs of weight gives it a lower power to weight ratio. All the leading magazines confirm this. If the Hyundai guys plonk in the 1.6 ltr engine that is doin rounds insouth africa/ australia/european... market and if it is available at around 5.5 lakhs, then i think that would be a better buy. Looks wise and finishwise there isnt much of a difference b/w the getz and the SWIFT. The difference is only in the performance and value for money. The higher end version of Getz GLS+ABS is priced at around 5.9 lakhs on road in Bangalore without airbags +climatronic+ keyless entry. As of now i feel SWIFT is a better choice unless Hyundai reduce the price of their GETZ by say 30K atleast or those safety features. Another way out for the Hyundai is to get in the much awaited CRDI diesel engines by this year end for their hatch backs at an attractive price. The diesel gems would be hard to resist given their excellent fuel economy and power delivery. I had seen the SWIFT in flesh in TOKYO about a month back when i was ther and was quite impressed. Did my booking before the launch itself and i guess i dont have to pay a premium. You cannot go wrong with the Swift is all i can say at this point of time as the market stands. Some points that are worth noting apart from all the goodies which are excellent value for money, excellent features, stunning looks: a)The dash board looks a bit plain with less utilitarian spaces. It is gud but not practical. b) The interior plastic Quality is gud unlike maruti's reputation ......maybe in the same league as the GETZ. c) The rear Seating can accomodate 3 ( as gud as indica and palio and getz maybe) and shud hav had an option of folding and sliding towrds the front seats to create more storage space. They shud not have overlooked this aspect as the boot space is quite small. d) airbags cud have been an option or they shud have created a variant in Zxi with airbags and ZXI without airbags. e) the tyres on lxi and vxi though 14 inch look slightly thin and they spoil the looks to an extent. It looks gud on the zxi with alloys and tubeless tyres. They could have given an alloy option on vxi along with the ABS. f) The ride quality is slightly palioish which is on the stiff side. g) The omission of a music system is gud move in a way as u dont have to pay few thousands extra for a system that does not suit ur taste. Let the owner decide what he wants in his car. But atleast, in the demo car, the maruti guys cud have had one as an accessory as the big gaping hole was looking Odd. h) Only thing to be seen is the quality of the new vehicle overall in terms of durabilty, service and maintanance. Time will tell and who else in this market is better equipped than maruti to do a gud job. My opinion stricly and i know for sure that u cannot get a car that suits evrybody's taste completely. sorry milind...i used ur space..but had to convey something.. Hurry Home -The SageRead More

Have done my booking and may go for Zxi version... and a RED color...i cant wait any longer man...Fabia and 1.6l or multijet SWIFT may take ages... Have read some revus/opinions on this site which are talking abt old engine..old wine in new bottle and maruti trying to cheat...but we always knew sin...ce the begining of this year itself that it was gonna be an esteem engine.. this is addressed to them.. 'If anybody had followed the launch of SWIFT in India closely..it had already been discussed/known that it will get an esteem engine with some tuning and the maruti guys have revamped the gear ratios to suit low end torque. the new engine is 87 bhp to the old esteems 85 BHP If u pick up the latest autocar mag or overdrive, u will get to know abt the same and the performance figures which are far better than the immideate competitor GETZ. It's an old engine ...fine..but dont forget the fact that CARS in general are very costly in India. U get a 10 lakh car for around 5 lakhs outside. But hey apart from the cars, other things are quite cheap in India and that's a compromise. U gain some and lose some. The next engine might be a multijet diesl engine and followed by a Baleno 1.5+ ltr engine. This has been done to give the SWIFT for a price so that the aam janta can afford it. New engine calls for huge investments and that aint gonna happen here. To put it in simple terms u are not being cheated and the engine is quite gud if not the best. Which sub 10lakh Car offers airbags+ABS+ climatronic+ alloy wheels+ 14inch tyres+ keyless entry for 5.5 lakhs...its a value for money car and this might pave the way for big discounts for Getz from Hyundai and maybe new engine variants and also ABS as a standard feature.Maruti has redefined the premium hatchback segment with excellent value for money and safety+ comfort features only found in premium cars. A turning point for sure..' (contd in the next comment) Read More

Hey...guess what ..have booked a swift about 10 days back...hope i get the delivery soon..Had seen a silver one in Japan about a month back and was quite impressed. Now, have to make a choice b/w zxi and vxi+ abs.. Was really keen on getting a Skoda Fabia...but looks like it's gonna take for...ever for them to launch... The guys at Maruti..have got their pricing right and it looks like it's a steal. Rumours are that these prices are gonna stay for a while. If the volumes are high the prices may stay where they are. The tyres on the 2 versions lxi and vxi are 2 thin and spoil the sporty look of the car. Tommorrow may go for a test drive. Hurry home -The SageRead More
