Hampi has got a certain charm even in its ruins. I wonder what this city would have been like during its hey days. One important landmark is Mustard Ganesha which unlike its name is a huge Ganesh. The main temple of Virupaksha stands majestically in the midst of rolling grantite hills. A striking fe...ature of this temple is a chamber where using the Pin hole camera effect you can see the reverse shadow of the temple's gopuram. As you rightly said good accomodation is not available at Hampi. Hospet has some good lodges. And not to miss out is the Tungabadra Dam at Hospet.Read More

Trakesht - Much like what your review says, it is indeed difficult to write in words the beautiful relationship shared by the little boy with an alien tongue and a humble family. The stunning visuals of Kuttanad add to the beauty of this movie. There is a very subtle way in which emotions have been ...handled and that just adds to this movie's charm. The insensitivity of government rules and government officers that prevents the little boy from living with a family that is willing to bind their life with his has been captured well. The scene of the little boy running inconsolably in search of his parents in their ravaged home can move any stone heart. Good review! Cheers, PriyaRead More

Seemore - I got to watch this movie today. What a wonderful film both in terms of the story and the captivating visuals of Kuttanad. The poignant scene where the little boy searches for his parents in his house ravaged by the earthquake is excellent. Mammotty has proved his abilities again and I hop...e we get to see him in such good roles. Keep giving us reviews of good Malayalam movies! Cheers, PriyaRead More

The convenience of using plastic money is camouflaged by the pathetic services that consumers have to put up with. All those teeny tiny words on the application forms just prevent consumers from having any decent rights.

Madhu - The problem with all these banks is that they have an aggressive marketing policy which they pursue using Direct Sales Agents. When it comes to servicing, neither these DSA's bother nor do the bank's employees. The quality of people whom they hire is pathetic with no product training or prod...uct knowledge. India may grow as an economy but its Service Sector still lives in a primitive environment where there is scant regard for customers.Read More

Your views are very interesting. I wish to state that if a person goes to an English medium school, it does not mean that he belongs to the Forward community. There somehow seems to be such a presumption. In urban India every one, even a rickshaw puller puts his children in an English school.

Very well written. I agree with every point you have made. You have put across the views of thousands of hard working Indians who may have no future inspite of their hard work. The world is giving India an opportunity to prove itself by sending business to India. But with people like Arjun Singh, al...l I can see is a country that will crash and perish with its flawed policies. May sound harsh, but that is the price every Indian will pay to appease the benefit of a few greedy politicians.Read More

Thanks for reviewing this book and bringing out it's highlights. In fact, Americans seem to respect Yoga much more than us. Reason being that they understand the beneficial effect of Yoga. Indians are yet to plunge into the benfits of Yoga. Hopefully books like this will awaken some of us. Best ...regardsRead More

Agree with your choice on Illayaraaja's best songs. But I have'nt heard the song from Auto Raja. Do you know of any web site where I could get to hear the song? Any time, any day, any age, Illayaraja's songs can be rated as some of the most melodious.

NRI's and ICICI Bank - that would be a tale of strange bedfellows. A couple of months back I approached ICICI Bank through email requesting them to forward me details for opening an NRI account. I had to give them my phone number and e-mail address. A week after my request, I began receiving ...Read more

What I understand of Distance Education in India is that it suits folks who are working. For them such courses are an additional qualification. But for freshers I think Nisha's experience may not be a stray one. Many of them might be facing the same issue.

Rightly said - this is one place where you get good 'Chaat', ranked second to the Sowcarpet shops. If you happen to eat bhel or any other Chaat stuff in the beaches of Chennai - what you will end up eating is the south Indian version of chaats. Seating is a major issue here especially on week-ends, ...when you need to show up your muscle-power to push through the crowd & get your coupons. But at the end it's all worth it because the taste is excellent.Read More

My own experience with AOL has given me excellent results. I was very much a sceptic when I walked into the first class. Once the Kriya sessions began I realised there is so much power in our breath - the power to calm & soothe one's mind & nerves, the ability to stay restrained when one is over-com...e by emotions & the ability to stay & think calmly. I was allergic to dust pollution & was prone to catching colds very often. I have been practicing Kriya over a period of two years & I noticed that except for seasonal bouts of cold, I do not seem to be cold-prone as before. Pranayama coupled with Ujjayi & Bhastrika are very energizing. On the whole, Kriya is a healthy way to start your day! Your review is excellent.Read More

Good review on the usefulness of libraries. I did not develop any interest in visiting libraries except to read magazines. But when I came over to the United States, I joined the local county library & am enjoying every visit there. The quality of books is excellent here & I am glad I am not wasting... my time.
