For a musical virtuoso like A R Rahman, the language would be the last barrier to convey the soul of the song! I do agree that ARR has given bad songs in tamil as well as Hindi, but hey comparing to the nadeem-shravans ans sanjeev darshans, ARR is indeed GOD! Listen to Ae Ajnabi from Dilse and u kno...w what soul of music is...Read More

agreed about the Videos being obscene... but what makes me write this comment is based on the observation that remixes kill the legends creation!! as a 1980 born, if not for the remixes i wouldnt have even heard the obsoletely orchestrated original of saiyaan dil mein aana re... Hi Madhu, thanx a lot for ur comment. I have not covered the credits part at all in my revu if u see it. I totally agree with u on that point,... Its completely unporfessional not to credit the original composer. But then.. tommorrow, some XYZ remix artist remixes humma humma, even if he is unp...rofessional enuff not to credit the original composer, will u think that people will forget that it was composed by the great whizkid Rahman??? (this is not an argumant to shy away fromthe reality.. One should definitely give proper credits to the original composer) Hi Cousin2, That was an interesting comment title, well even though what I meant was 'please comment' Vodka is my nickname :), thx for ur comment. Hilarious man!! loved the interview..... As far as remixes are concrned... I am complete PRO Remixes... they ROCK! Now, Harry Anand is a talented chap... I dint find enuff reasons in ur revu why u insist he is a very dumb chap... he should be given fair amount of credit for making remixes a rage!... ofcourse he doesnt have the class of Lezz or instant karma.... but come on man! he is an okay chapRead More

Hi All, Was reading thru the reviews. What I cold gather is that most of us think some remixes are good while the others are pathetic. And also, We still believe Old is Gold. Having said this, here is my view point about this higly debatable topic Remixes or Original. Now this Topic itself shoul...Read more

Hi manoj I hadnt listened to kalayil dinamum well enuff the time i wrote the revu. I personally think its an okay song. Its vaguley based on karnatic raag Manirangu... not completely... it has vague touches of this raag... unnikrishnan disappoints as he sounds disgustingly nasal... especially when ...he says words like 'annaye....' It sounds as if he is suffering from a cold... Sadhana sargam is Okay, but the song doesnt have enuuf to showcase the enormous potentialthat she has,,,,Read More

Hi man! Simply superb! MM is one of the worst news papers ever.. Its anti communist arttitude, and intolerable middle kerala style Malayalam (which now people call is the 'purest' of malayalam!!) The whole accent pisses me off. As a native of shoranur, the town near the banks of great bharathapuz...ha, whose shores lived the great thunchath ezhuthachan , the father of malayalam... I think the valluvanadan style of malayalam is the purest and the best. ... great review and nice research... keep them coming!!!!Read More

hi srininet1, This is about the kaliyon ka chaman being copied from an english original... It was the english song who copied the tune from kaliyon ka chaman... and there was also a lawsuit filed againdt the english band by the original music composer bappi lahiri

as to the vulgarity on videos ... well.. view points differ.. now about the music... REMIXES ROCK!!! the yeh wada raha original song makes me puke... the remix is so classy...that the song became one of my personal favorites... same with Kaliyon ka chaman... original is a very forgettable song... th...e remix kicks a**... The future is REMIXED!... look at the greats like Asha bhosle.. they are pro remixes and she is showing the way be singing her own songs in remixed format... Its a very crappy thought that those badly orchestrated songs of old times are golden... they have great tunes agreed but PATHETIC orchextration/sounds/recordings... Hail REMIXES!!!Read More

Hi shreya, who can forget the great maestro ilayaraja's contribution to music? I cannnot compare ARR with IR , it will be like comparing Virender Sehwag to sachin! I made the reference coz IR is not composing much nowadays..... As far as HJ and yuvan shankar raja goes... their music is topping ch...arts alright, but how much of Original music they compose is can still be debated up on!! check out the site http://www.iespana.es/i2fs and u would get an idea of what i am talking... Thanks again, VodkaRead More

good revu man!! but i am afraid your reference of sandai kozhi as a ghazal is not very correct! Its rather a folk melody. If u have head the song jhoot kapat chalkini from the movie saathiya, (it is the hindi replacement for ths song alai paayuthe...) u would get an idea what i am talking about... ...sandai kozhi is heavily inspired by the tunes of Oudhi/gujrati folklore..Read More

Sales figures never make an album good or bad... I personally blive thats a wrong interpretation and it does no good to the music world... cassette sales are affected by a lot of factors of which the music is also one.... I am one of those die hard ARR fans who buys cassettes/CD's which carries his ...name even without bothering about the score... and i am sure i am not the only one like that!! I totally agree with javajeeva on his review.... AE is a very disappointing score by ARR, who has forgotten what the word melody means.... if its about techno songs... i shall listen to chemical bros and feel happy about it.... i listen to ARR for the musical value those songs had... All these so called popular jana gana mana and all makes me think if music can b like this also... if thats the case... some one who can chant some words out oif tune can be called an outstanding singer... Minus Fanaa... this is a very forgettable album ,... cant force myself to think that ARR-maniratnam combination will always be a great success.... may e thw movie will be, the music is also... but think about it.... is this what we expect out of ARR? some machime made sounds...., some low quality rap.... reuse of shakalakka baby's rhythm sample.. (listen to dol dol and correct me if i am wrong!!) Now, I am a great fan of ARR and also a great fan of Harris jayaraj.... added this line coz the comment by ar_majnu kind of amused me.... Whats wrong in thinking HJ is a great musician when he is definitely one? that waont make anybody pro or anti ARR... that was my impression, no hard feelings please... AE maybe doing great in the cassette sales... but ask this question to urselves.... if ARR doesnt give u melodies, who will... Now dont tell me this movie has no scope for melodies... Always, Vodka.Read More
