As Usual, you have done a nice job. I agree with some of your points and disagree with some others. I write my reviews on my blog these days and if you care here it is in Tamil; http://jeevagv.blogspot.com/2005/03/blog-post_31.html Cheers, Jeeva

The selections are all worth of their inclusions, Good Review and Thanks for inviting me. On a year dominiated by Kuthu songs: Unfortunately Vidyasagar and Bharatwaj are remembered for their Kuthu songs, and their awsome melodies are underrated. Kuthu songs are more of Director or actors (lik...e Vijay) choices rather than that of the composer. Vidyasagar once said in an interview that he will beg with the director to include atleast a melody in each album! Read More

The album itself has to be blamed for its failure. Some of the songs too slow paced, particularly at this time where everyone else is making kuthu Songs. Trying 60s style is something really bold attempt, but then that costs the album so dear. All songs have quality in them, no doubt, but thats NOT ...enough to make a winner. I loved hearing all the songs, but kinda got bored with some of them. May be they are too long for their pace. May be should have cut short with first charanam or given some instrumentals instead. Anyway, It was great to read ur review, and dont hesistate next time, we are hear to read.Read More

Thanks for your comments. There are aspects I am strongly looking for in a song, thats why I had to reject some good works. As for Vishwa Thulasi, I considered 'Mayakukma'. but dropped it because they are just relaying on the old magic. I expect lot more from them. Virumandi is nice, but the Illaiy...araja + Kamal combination can do lot better than what they gave. 7G Rainbow Colony was also close, but when comparing with others, week points only stand out like Shreya Goshals poor prounciation. I am looking forward your top ten Suresh, I am sure I will love them.Read More

In the past ten years or so, Tamil Film Music has been the leader in Film music innovation when compared to other regional scores mainly thanks to AR Rahman on the western front and Ilaiyaraja on the classical and folk side. Loved your comparision between the Hindi and Tamil version. Unni Kela (Yuhi Chala's) tune reminds me ARRs previous composition in Udhaya - 'pookum malarai kaikal kulukki'

I havent heard it, but glad to read ur review before that! Good review, but the last line was disappointing. It souded like as if you are trying please ARR fans so as to not critical about review. Anyway my ratings are always with you.

Rightly said - its for the youth. Youth also has the meaning of inexperienced, immature and easily carried away for meaner ends. Thats what ARRs music also reveals in this album. The more and more i hear, its only frustrating. They defintely lack clarity. A hand made guitar costs 10 times more than ...a mechine made one for a reason, And its the same reason that devaluates this album. ARR is the only composer who motivates me to write reviews. And When he experiments and produces good stuff, I am probably more delighted than he might be, Well its not this time around!Read More

After a very good album in Kangalal Kaithu Sei, here he goes to the opposite end, A noisy, easily forgetable album. Its technically not a bad album, but for music to be appealing it has to not only attract but also sustain that attraction for long time. Not just till you hear the next song. U...Read more
