Hi guys...nice reviews Im proud to call Gladiator as my first bike. I was almost a novice rider last year in November when I purchased the bike. But the handling and control of the bike is so amazing, that I feel like im riding since ages. My biking needs are extensive. I log 90Kms per day on we...ekdays averaging over 3000Kms monthly. I started riding regularly since November 2006 and have so far logged 9800Kms on my odometer. This makes me quite experienced on Gladiator. My 5 service is now done and i regret missing the 4th service, which viods my bonus free services. My Gladiator still gives me a whopping 68Kmpl average on plain unleaded gas and 65Kmpl on HP Power gas. The front disc and rear drum brakes are very good quality and surpass many other bikes. The most special thing is no one can really guess the age or the run of the bike coz' its still in tip-top condition, thanks to the teflon coating done last week. I recommend this to everyone serious abt their bikes. I strongly recommend Gladiator to everyone whos looking for decent performance packed in a single machine. Guys....i've a question would like you'll to answer. Im going to fit silver alloy wheels to my red Dx Gladiator any time soon as my spoked rim has got out due to an impact with a drunk man. I got it set many times but it keeps coming back. Can anyone find out how much it costs in your city ?? Im from Mumbai. Another suggestion for those who say Gladiators are not seen much on the roads.......'Dikhawe pe na jao.....Apni akal ladao' Yamaha rulez......Read More

Hey guys.. You both are wrong in comparing Glady to Bajaj or other bikes. Glady gives more than 60Kmpl with good riding habits. Its pickup is not better than Discover but mileage surely is. Glady doesn't look bad as compared to Discover or other 125cc. Rather i rate Glady more rocking than... Discover. Im qualified to comment on these coz' I've logged 10000Kms on Glady in less than 6months, that too averaging at 65Kmpl !!! Using plain unleaded gas even increases its average to whopping 68Kmpl. You'll not get a better bargain for another 125cc bike from other manufacturers. To put all this together, Glady is a very well balanced featured bike. Cheers !Read More

Hi Kannakasturi Hows your remote lock and the battery performing ?Did you have any problems with that. Here in Mumbai, I tried installing one, called 'Cyclone' for Rs550 and that guy was unable to do so saying the electrical wiring of Gladiator is not supported by that remote lock system. The rem...ote lock will specially need to be ordered for Gladiator. In the meantime I got disinterested and gave up the idea of installing remote lock system. CheersRead More

Hi all, I may not know abt other bikes and manufacturers in the Indian market but i surely know that Gladiator is the best bet for 125cc motorbike. Gladiator is meticulously combined with all features from other good bikes and blended into one piece. I won't say all its features are superior to ...other bikes, but most features are available in reasonable proportions. Now take this....my Gladiator gives a whopppppping 70Kmpl mileage if driven at 55-60Kmph speed. But i get bored and restless at such low speeds. I normally ride at 65-75Kmph speedband, sometimes speed at close-to-80Kmph and get 65Kmpl mileage. Now here's my question.....'Tell me a 125 cc bike with good pickup, very good looks, very good handling, very good mileage, very good engine, good gear shifts, ok head lights, integrated rear indicators, good disc brakes ????' Discuss this with your peers on this site or on Orkut(has a Gladiator community) and let me know if you come up with an answer ! Cheers.Read More

Good comments by josearunchalissery.. The number of Gladis are not seen on the road for one reason.....Yamaha has not released powerful bikes for quite sometime now and bikers have got disinterested. The last Yammi bike that was a rage on the road was RX-100 and 135, back in 2000. Manufacturer...s like TVS(Apache) and Bajaj(Pulsar), who have no track record of performance have released bikes with stunning looks that have got people attracted to them. Today, 1 in every 4 bikes on Mumbai roads is a Pulsar. Yamaha must act soon and reinstate its stature by upgrading Fazer and Gladiator to powerpacked machines.Gone are the days when consumers looked for mileage bikes. As far as I am concerned, I went for Gladiator just for name sake. Im Hollywood obsessed and Gladiator is one such movie liked by me.Now i realize my love for Yamaha and FZ6 has become one of my dream bikes. Yamaha has the perfect platform to build reputation by just releasing one powerpacked bike and all the TVSs, HHs and Bajajs will get smoked out of the damn road ! CheersRead More

Yes...the alloy wheels may bring down the mileage a bit but not due to weight. Its due to the larger air gaps that the wheels need to cut during rotation. You'll be surprised to know that alloy wheels are lighter than spoke wheels. This is a less known fact.

Cheer up man...you're about to choose the best bet in 125cc segment, the Glady. Im a new rider but feel amazed by the control and feel of it. Seems as if God came to me and breathed the speeding and controlling skills inside me !! I've just done over 1700Kms with Glady and its gettin beasty day by ...day. All you've to do is convince your dad and mom, better take then as pillion while test riddin it...lol !! Regarding speed, Glady runs at 40kmph at the least throttle opening on 5th gear. Thats the lowest speed on 5th gear without knocking. Buckle up...Glady rocks !Read More

If your bike averages 35, you've a serious problem with fuel consumption. Complain to the dealer and ask for clarifications. You may even escalate the matter to your regional YMIS office.

First of all, comparing 125cc and 150cc bike on any count is idiotic. Secondly, if someone says Glady has a 'pathetic' fuel effciency, he simply doesn't know how to ride a street motorcycle. Else the carburettor settings are all f****d up. The engine idle RPM has a major role to play in fuel cons...umption. Glady cannot average less than 50, before 1st service. It increases to 65 after 1st service. You must get your carburettor settings tuned and idling RPM properly set. Post your comments again after doin the above. Im sure this will help.Read More

The trouble you facing is more of 'your' bike specific than all Gladiators. Gladiator, i'd say is the best bet in 125cc segment. All others in this segment are real crap, as compared to this one. If this is a new bike, plz get it throughly inspected by your dealer. Im sure it'll come good.

Hey, Nice cool review. But m not too convinced with your fuel rating. This son of a Lord gives me 65 per litre on plain unleaded gasoline, that too on speeds ranging betwn 60-70, sometimes 75, straight after 1st service. I hope this is bound to increase in the comin days. Go...venture and explore... ur son's sexuality. Mind you its very hot !!Read More

Guys, engine temperature will not depend on how long you rode the bike, but how much throttle you used for a particular distance. If you ride the bike for say 30mins with the least throttle while on 5th gear, your engine will be just hot enough. In this conditions you should get speeds around 45Kmph.... Now consider this. You cold started the engine and accelerated to 60-65Kmph rapidly, and continued this for 10mins, your bike will be hotter than the first instance and its also very bad for the engine. Let the engine get the proper warmth before accelerating. During winter, a warm engine performs well but gives trouble during cold start.Read More

Hey, Nice to read your review.Im convinced abt the strong forward jerk(sometimes killing the engine) while shifting to 1st from neutral during cold start. Also the gear shift is 'very' noisy particularly while downshifting to 1st. It literally goes with a bang. Overall it has awesome performan...ce. Im done 1700Kms in less than 40days, adding 78Kms everyday, averaging 65Kmpl after 1st service. Initially it averaged 55Kmpl, with a somewhat lower pickup. But after 1st service, the pickup and average increased which is so astonishing. I use plain unleaded gasoline. I've tried rapid acceleration a few times at signals and it works wonders. The engine fire is impressive(particularly during rapid accelerations) and so is its pick-up. Though i hate that whistling noise from the engine at high speeds and low RPMs. Last but not the least...a typical Yamaha product !!!Read More

Hi, I perfectly agree with you on gear shift. It almost always gets stuck while shifting to 1st gear from top gears on traffic signals. I only hope these issues get faded after the first and the subsequeent services. But Gladiator just roksss.... Cheers !!

Hey Hashim, Liked your comments on this bike. But im not convinced on its gear shift quality. The gear almost always gets stuck while shifting down from 4-5th to 1st on signals. This leads to forcibly taking off while on 2nd gear which many times leads to engine gettin killed. This is a nuisance... particularly in city roads with heavy traffic. Do you think this trouble is only with my one in particular or all Gladiators. Would you recommend me consulting the service centre ?? Also some 'tic tic tic tac' noise comes from the engine while on halt after a long drive....is this normal ??Read More

hi..Julian the starting trouble is persistent for almost all vehicles more so when the fuel was turned off while resting it the previous day/night. The fuel supply to the engine complety shuts and the fuel line go dry(gasoline vapourises pretty fast) Hence starting on a cold morning requireas ...that you use kick start and keep engine on idle untill it gets warm enough before taking off....im sure thiss will help. Also make use of 'Starter Lever(choke)' which ensure that engine receives a richer mixture of air/gasoline during cold start....when the engine responds well to the throttle....its a indication that its warm enough....close choke immediately. the engine responds marvelously to even small variations in handling and maintenance..... your back problem could be due to your height....you must be sitting too far from the gas tank....to enable your long arms to be comfortable to the handlebars...this will force you to sit on the slide of the seat where it begins to rise towards pillion. Try siting close to the gas tank.....with your hands relaxed.....this should be comfortable. One more thing....if you address Glady as 'she' you're bringing 'shame' to it coz' its a fighter who wins defeating all uncertainties !! Females species are not meant for this...hehehehe !! Hey dudes, I purchased Gladiator DX early this month and am dissatisfied with its pickup. Its doesn't seem to be 125cc engine, considering the poor pickup. The pickup is quite similar to Splendor or a scooter. The poor pickup may boost its mileage but that hardly matters. I've read reviews sa...Read more
