Since the day I started my new job, I was keen to get something exciting for me.... for an auto freak like me what better it could be than a BIKE !

I searched the market and started from the bottom... the commuter segment... I liked the advertisements of many new models but the like remained to the ads itself... none of the bikes proved to be a complete bike in itself...

Actually I had heard of rave reviews about Honda unicorn as a performance bike but it was too dear so I ventured a bit to a lower strata. After a bit of market survey I decided to go for hero Honda glamour...it really looked cool with the black paint job of alloys and engine. Ride was smooth as well. I visited to showroom and sorted out the fine details with the local dealer.

Next morning I woke up and opened the newspaper to find out some hand outs from various agencies... my sight got stuck onto something with a picture of bike on it... I pulled it out and it was a pamphlet of Yamaha agency telling about the overdrive survey regarding the 125 cc shootout in which Yamaha gladiator won hands down. Alas! How could I miss out Yamaha showroom in my search? I said to myself!! Even though I already own a Yamaha RXG 1997 model I didn’t think of going to Yamaha!! Being on Yamaha for past 10 years is immense pleasure.. The way u glide on roads is worth experiencing...

next morning I checked out the new Yamaha gladiator with the dealer n fell in love with it at first site... test drive proved to be the final verdict ... the engine is so quite that the Yamaha guys had a hard time convincing me the engine is idling !! The pick up is fantastic, but smooth at the same time. The control of the bike is excellent! it obeys you every inch by inch!! The disks do excellent job and the bike freezes without any hassles... the clear lens and halogen headlamps are very bright and focused.. the low beam fans out evenly on the road ahead so as to provide a clear view... the road manners , cornering is awesome ... it is something you can throw around in your daily life, both at red lights and on highways!! ride is essentially vibration and clutter free... looks are impeccable... it got some time getting used to the gear box as it was a bit stiff... I decided there and then move over glamour !! I took the very same bike that I drove to my home!!!

now I proudly own not one but two Yamaha bikes....

the gladiator standing next to rxg is like a son standing with his dad smiling and saying HOWZATT!
