The real mileage was tested by continuously monitoring the quantity of petrol bought and the kilometres added on. After doing this monitoring for over 2000 KM, The mileage has been calculated as 11.7 KM/litre that includes about 70% long distance and 30% short in city. This figure is with almost all... the time AC on. The car has done a little over 6770 KM. No problem so far and I am really enjoying.Read More

Friends, I could test my car at 170 KMPH recently while driving to Lonawala on the Mumbai Pune expressway. I certify, it is rock solid- no fear. Chased an optra Diesel TDCI till 160 KMPH and then the other car appeared to have surrendered and let me go past it. Maintained 170 for about half a minute.... Wide tyre & lower rpm get an advantage! @shouriehere, thanks for this new thinking and sharing of information. I have never experimented that as driving fast gives me a thrilling experience. I shall try that as you have said. I do, of course, feel that consumption varies from time to time; it may be due to that change of efficiency depend...ing on the road and the driving habit. My running has not been much, its only 4000+ Km, but no problem so far and spent only Rs. 120/-as the cost of topping up Engine oil in the first service.Read More

I agree with you. I have recently driven the Figo diesel in city as well as in highway. It is really good to drive. Driven at 140 kmph in highway; pull is phenomenal. Only major negative probably is its look, which appears to be old. It is really a smart car for both city and highway.

Its sad to know that customers are deprived of some basic satisfaction of a saloon car ater spending the good price. The fact is, as also mentioned by somebody in this forum, that Toyota can not afford to manufacture saloon cars below Rs 10 lakh price. There are reasons for that. But since there is ...market demand in this country for cheap cars even without high quality, Toyota had launched the Etios here. The other purpose probably is to generate the high numbers in selling cars in India. Even with the poor quality and lot of cost cutting, there are high demand for this car. It is evident from the waiting time for the car. The reviews and feeings expressed by a few do not represent the feeling of all indian customers. Many of the problems mentioned in the review arise from the cost cutting. One compromise lead to another new problem. My advice is - one should wait a little before buying a newly launched vehcle to know the actual performance before taking a decision. There is scope for buying a number of vehicles from the Indian market with Rs.7.5 lakhs. That freedom should be enjoyed with a little research on the target cars. After all, Toyota has not pulled us from our houses and compelled us to buy their cars! In fact Toyota has been rewarded by customers by booking for the Etios (in spite of the compromises) for building a brand reputation in the past through other high quality cars. Read More

That is correct. Of course it may not be for all toyota vehicles. But Etios is old in the engine technology designed as a cheap product for India. One can guess easily from the engine size and resulting power and torque. It has also been made light weight to give good mileage compromising on the sta...bility and comfort and long term integrity of the vehicle.Read More

Please do not mind. I feel, there is lack of truth in reporting the mileage of Linea T Jet+ as 20-21 KMPL. It will be a miracle to get it for a petrol car of this weight and engine. Yes, a NANO or an autoriksha can give it . Even a Maruti 800 would struggle to be so. One should not be misguided by s...uch figures. No doubt, its a very nice car in all other front and I feel it is definitely ahead of the CITY in total marks. My TJET Plus has given 10.2 kMPL (with all time AC) after driving 460KM in a mixed situations. That is a truth and I am not disappointed. It also depends a little on the driving habit. I believe its maximum mileage will be around 12-14kmpl in ideal driving condition without AC, which nobody will practically get. We need to check our calculations in an honest way and should not be guided by wishful thinking. Finally TJET is not for mileage, it is for fun of driving and get admiration and that is really guaranteed! Congratulation to Mukulh for selecting the beauty! Read More

Don't worry. You will be able to buy your desired car. Things are rapidly changing in India. 15 years back, when we started working, it was difficult to imagine buying a new Maruti 800; Today it is not so. Within six months of working in the starting level, a new guy can get a new car that is far be...tter than M800. So learn a profession well, do hard work and your dream will be fulfilled in no time! Best wishes.Read More

Mileage is 10-10.5 kM per litre with AC in a mix of city and highway driving. This figure is as displayed on the panel computed by the trip meter. I believe the car can give a mileage of maximum 12-14 KM/litre if driven without AC and at moderate speeds of 60-70 KMPH. I shall never do that for milea...ge as I have not bought it for mileage.Read More

Many people have reported the performance of the diesel vento exciting. I have not driven of course, but heard the sound from inside. It introduces surely as a Diesel one and the sound is relatively high. I did not like one thing- the raised area in the legroom area for the back seat. The middle pas...senger will not be comfortable for a long journey. Lookwise, nothing special from outside. Elder sister and younger sister have the same face (Vento and Polo). After all one should feel some difference in the look too after spending Rs. 10 lakh.Read More

Really Linea T Jet + and City offer a big dilemma. But I feel the TJet+ will race ahead of City in almost all parameters of Look, Luxury and performance. I am reassured about this after owning a new T Jet+. Compare City’s 1100KG against the TJet’s 1230 KG weight. Where has the 130 KG vanished? Peak ...Power at 6700 rpm for City against 5000 rpm for the TJet. Torque of 21KG .m of Tjet against 15KG.m of city. Regarding some old complaints, like poor AC, test the new TJET+ and feel the difference, its really quick in cooling. Just hit your finger against the body of Linea and do the same against the body of City and feel the difference in sound. Needs no explanation. Car makers take advantage of the competition and does not offer the best till they get a good rival. Example-Maruti did not come out with mpfi petrol engine till Dawoo and Hyundai introduced the same. It also fitted poor suspension in the original Maruti 800. City did not offer the alloy initially, and not a CD player till now. I hope they wil come out with a Turbo petrol some day after seeing the performance of TJET. No doubt ,City is very dear to many and is a highly refined car, but an analytical person will definitely feel the pain of rejecting such a beautiful and high performance car -TJET+. Lastly , nothing is guaranteed about quality- some Honda cities of earlier version caught fire and they recalled the model for defect. Toyota did massive recall after detecting defect in their car. If we donot believe the owner of Brand Ferrari, whom do we believe for quality and performance? Read More

Very good informations. It helps others facing similar problems. This gear problem should be noted by the manufacturer. Someone also also reported breaking problems with the Xylo, which was stuck up in the morning.

Regarding milage, almost nobody gets the company-claimed figure. But the company figure is not false either. Because they derive the mileage figure in the most optimum condition (which we donot get or follow while driving) and publish for marketing the vehicle. The lack of space behind the last row ...is really a negative as one would not like to fit an external rooftop carrier on such a high rise. Innova is really innovative in this regard. But Xylo's engine is praised by many as the one with the required grunt and smoothness. Every vehicle has some positive and some negative. It also depends on the money we spend in buying. WIth this price tag, Mahindra is, I think, offering a good deal, because they are conceived by an Indian Company.Read More

If you have a limited budget or you want a rugged vehicle then it is not a bad idea. It is comfortable but not for high speed. Its front suspensions are special and AC is known to be very good. My suggestion is not to own the vehicle for long period. I think you can keep it for 5-6 years.

Wave in its new avatar has got the text-assist corrected and is now much better than many other phones. It has improved on the font size and screen size as well. A good improvement. It now shows many predictive texts from which you can complete an sms typing fast. Other features are yet to be tested... by me, of course. But overall, it has come out as an improved version.Read More

Frankly, I did not like the review. Had the car be a human being, it would have pushed such a driver out and said- ''I am not for you, go and get somebody else of your choice''! The tester might have done some damage to the car by experimenting in the unnatural way.
