I have highlighted my toyota etios complaint at an international website as I found that Indian people do not understand the problems being faced by their fellow friends. I would suggest that all toyota etios users must register their complaints at this website, so that the all the world can be ma...de aware of the problems being faced by us. Then may be we can get some reply from Toyota. http://www.carcomplaints.com/Toyota/ http://myetios.com/toyota-etios-common-problems-faced-by-owner-customer-in-my-car.htmRead More

Dear Mr. D R Paul I would like to mention my problems as follows- 1) Engine Vibration at Idle/ Neutral position. When the vehicle ignition is switched “ON” the vehicle shakes heavily and produces noise. Secondly when the vehicle is “START” and the gear is Neutral/ idling condition – vehicle produces... lot of vibration. This vibration is irritating and distracts attention for every moment spent in the Etios. The vibrations are so intense that the vibrations are felt in the driver and passenger seats, steering, side arm rest, roof top, tail ( boot space) of my etios. 2) Road Noise inside the cabin. When the vehicle is moving on the road, great amount of sound from the tyre reaches the inside cabin of the car, which is very irritating while driving. This noise is heard even with window glass closed and AC switched ON. 3) Engine Noise inside the cabin. The vehicle produces a lot of noise while accelerating. It sounds as if lot of lot of load has been put on the engine even with light load in the car (with 2 passengers inside the cabin). This noise is very distracting while driving. 4 ) Absence of Weather gaskets on all four Doors. The absence of gasket makes it convenient for insects, cockroaches, ants, spiders and lizards to get inside the vehicle as soon as the door is opened. The interior area of the cabin trapped between the frame and door is always dirty even though the vehicle is cleaned from outside. 5) Battery The battery drains out completely in less than a weeks time of non usage of the vehicle. It has happened with me three times. Also visit http://myetios.com/toyota-etios-common-problems-faced-by-owner-customer-in-my-car.htmRead More

Dear Mr.Bhalla As you are already using Innnova, you are used to diesel engine which give more fuel economy and economical in cost per litre. So as per my understanding you require second vehicle to be used for daily purposes and which can move in congested areas. If you consider Vento, the eu...ropean engineering is considered to be sturdy and solid in terms of engine body and weight and is applicable for engine too. Vento petrol will cost slightly higher than etios which is available in petrol only. But if you go for diesel the difference between etios will be more than 30%. Are you ready to spend this much? If you consider Dezire petrol it is cheaper than etios, but consider dezire diesel which is a much silent engine than etios petrol. This way you can save money also. Etios will give you noise and vibration as of diesel engine while consuming costly petrol. And since you have already used Innova-etios will surely disappoint you as there are all chances of comparison since both belong to Toyota family.Etios is the poor man’s Car. If you have to drive vehicle for min 50 km in a day I would suggest going for diesel vehicle. But the advice would be to go for a tried and tested engine and technology. Try considering going for another Innova and use this old Innova for daily purposes. One last advice if by any chance you decide in favour of etios, go for at least 10 test drives and then take delivery. Please convince yourself before taking delivery. I also have Innova in my family and I am really disappointed with etios. www.myetios.com also view http://myetios.com/etios-entry-level-sedan-disappointment-fo r-owner.htm Please let me know your final choice.Read More

@ leh 123 Thanks for the suggestion, My vehicle has twice been inspected by Toyota engineers and at the time of inspection they confirm the problem in the engine, but when they go back to their offices, they start replying that there is no problem in the Etios and it meets all the toyota standards ...in their emails. But they also mention that I should give them the vehicle for 3 days. I dont understand this diplomatic answer by toyota engineers, there is some very serious problem which they do not want to disclose me. Secondly, they want to open my vehicle and try different procedures in my vehicle and do all the hit and trial at the cost of my hard earned money. I am waiting for toyota engineers to confirm the exact problem.. The Indian management is not bothered about the unhappy customers and are only aiming at rosy sale figures. Toyota India is playing with the goodwill of Toyota Japan. This is a very short term policy from Toyota India Management. I am seeking help from ALL to escalate my problem to Toyota India and Toyota Japan. Internet and Telephone is a very strong medium. Today I may be alone but Tomorrow I can find people like me and it will become a revolution.I am doing all that I can do and will keep on doing till I succeed. I have already registered my complaint at http://www.carcomplaints.com/Toyota/Etios/ This is one very genuine site where only genuine Etios owners can file complaint as it requires Engine number. @leh_123 I respect your comments of appreciating and unconditional belief on the brand. I would again repeat that taking a test ride does not guarantee the performance of the vehicle being supplied to you. For me budget was not an issue but reliability and performance does matter to me. I spen...t most of my time travelling during the day and I can not imagine my vehicle to produce noise and excessive vibrations like tractor. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7OfgznPUeI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vu2xECUOTJA This kind of vibrations are normally not available in any car of any engine size in cc, any segment-sedan or hatchback, any price tag INR 1.5L to 25L, any brand-new or old. We buy car for the comfort not for the brand, brand selection is only for the technology, reliability, performance of their vehicle in the past. Please note that if we consider Toyota, corolla, camry, Innova, Fortuner all have the history- launched in other parts of the world. Built and conforming to worldwide standards likeNVH- Noise Vibration and Harshness. Safety. But Etios is built on a new platform and there are so many lacunas in the vehicle which etios try to justify by saying Entry level sedan. Low Price, Low Budget. Toyota Badge. etc etc A customer who is paying his hard earned money is looking only Performance and not Brand. Toyota has taken care of safety by giving ABS and EBD, but did not work on comfort parameters like NVH. If tomorrow you may also feel NVH issues in your Etios. Please make the folowing observation-switch OFF the AC and blower and just observe the chage in vehicle vibrations. As I am reading lot of reviews on the internet I am observing that the vehicles produced during FEB and MAR 2011 are having higher NVH.This is very raw conclusion. Toyota will have the exact data. If Toyota responds well to consumer issues, we can soon expect a recall from Toyota next month. The size and the boot space lose significance if the comforRead More

@leh_123 Welcome Greetings! Please note that you also acknowledge the drawbacks and problems which Etios has. But unlike me, you are also mesmerised by the Toyota Badge on Etios. Remember the Toyota brand is because of good quality vehicles that it has given to society in past and this Toyota tag... alone does not Gaurantee the performance of Etios which is presently failing.Toyota past was bright but present is gloomy and the future may be dark if they do not work on the quality issues of Etios. It is people like you who infill the over confidence in Toyota to understand any genuine concerns. If you are following me and you also own Etios - you might have come to know that your Etios also does not have the weather gaskets which prevents dust, insects, cockroach and lizards inside the passenger cabin. Be ready for the scream if you discover a Lizard inside your car. As far as the test ride is concerned it is always for a very short duration and that too on the best vehicle made by the company. Moreover the vehicle which is delivered to me is not the same test ride vehicle and therefore my etios can very likely have a defect which is not common to the test ride vehicle. As far as cost cutting is concerned - people like you and me did not give any budget to Toyota to design the vehicle. We bought the Etios at the price offered to us- without discount. I bought Toyota thinking that they have a good record of producing vehicles but if they have given a vehicle with very high noise and vibration level to me, I have all the right in this world to voice my issue. As you have also bought Etios and spent the hard earned money like me, you can understand my pain and should whole heartedly support me in my fight for justice from Toyota. Have you ever seen vibrations on the roof of a petrol engine car. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fkKRKGZxRaY Also read http://myetios.com/http:/www.myetios.com/etios-entry-level-s edan-disappointment-for-owner.htm Read More

Etios in short is an incomplete vehicle like a baby born prematurely. It is having a moderate engine with decent dynamics but cost cutting in other areas specially related to comfort has resulted in a half cooked product. As for being categorized as an economical product: I feel that as compared t...o other Toyota it is economical . But compared with its peers it is not a economy product and by no stretch of imagination can be described as value for money product. Once euphoria over Toyota badge goes, then Toyota will have to redesign Etios in many areas. My new Toyota Etios vibrates as if a tractor engine is fitted inside it.The vehicle lacks proper insulation and dampers used in the engine compartment which can reduce the engine noise. The Etios design fails in this field as lot of noise is heard from engine and the tyres and road, inside the passenger cabin which causes irritation. After driving for few kilometers the vibrations get more intense and are felt through steering, dashboard, side arm rest and seats as they vibrate and make the journey tiring and boring for driver and passengers as well. This Vibration effect increase as the AC is switched “OFF”. You can live with it in Summers but what will happen in Winters? The absence of Weather gaskets in all the four doors make it convenient for dust, insects, lizards, cockroaches to get inside the Toyota Etios Sedan. Moreover the inside gaskets stick to the door in a manner that if you open the door after the gap of even 2 days, the door becomes very hard to open as the rubber gasket stick on the open-able door surface.and also the Quality of the paint is very poor, which just gets away as soon as it come in contact with any surface. The fuel average is also close to half as claimed by Toyota. Toyota Etios Sedan does not deserve to be categorised a “SEDAN” as it does not provide basic comfort. It is by the virtue of the design that it is called ’’SEDAN’’Read More

I own Toyota Etios V Model for more than 3months now and I have driven only 1900 K.M as I don’t feel like driving it anymore. The excessive Noise and Vibration from the engine inside the cabin cause irritation and spoils the music listening pleasure. This excessive Noise and Vibration inside Etios c...ause me headache, backache and shivering in hands and legs. The vibrations intensify when AC and blower is switched ’’OFF’’ - this causes heavy vibrations in the vehicle. I have been to the dealership for inspection of my etios by senior toyota engineer from Bangalore and we observed that all the 4-5 etios vehicles had different noise and vibration levels, there was no standardization. The engineers were reluctant to acknowledge the problem but the customers standing there could immediately identify the noises and vibraions causing the door also to shake vigorously and could be visible with naked eye. One other etios owner present there even commented at my etios, that this Etios is Diesel version, which was more shameful for the senior toyota engineers. I am surprised that etios does not provide comfort to the customer but it provides comfort to the toyota engineers only. Why? Just like any website comment I am always told about the positive feedback from the Toyota Dealership, but I started meeting Etios owners in the Parking areas, Malls,Petrol pumps and was shocked to hear that every etios owner was aware of the noise, vibration, low pickup, low mileage, unstable above 90 kmph speed but were silent as they think they will have to live with it. But the pain of buying etios and getting cheated by Toyota was evident. We all are inclined to Etios because of the brand name Toyota, but etios miserably fails to impress owner’s heart The dellivery waiting time is just a hype.It is readily available at dealer outlets with hardly any buyers. Test drive etios 10 times before buying it.Read More

Hi Vinarayan888 I have been following your comments ever since you booked the vehicle and you were about to take the delivery. Your first month driving experience was good and I thought that my experience will also improve as yours. Moreover I was myself not ready to believe that my etios is a fau...lty vehicle supplied by Toyota. Now even after 3 months and driven for 1900 km the noise and vibrations are increasingly causing discomfort in the passenger cabin and the noise from road and engine spoils the music listening pleasure. The vibrations intensify when AC and blower is switched ’’OFF’’ - this causes heavy vibrations in the vehicle. I respect your trust and experience with your etios, but believe me I have been to the dealership for inspection of my etios by senior toyota engineer from Bangalore and we observed that all the 4-5 etios vehicles had different noise and vibration levels, there was no standardization.
