thats the best i got so far. Inside Bangalore (really lousy traffic on Bannerghata Road) I get 11.5-12.4 with the AC mostly on. I'm not the most fuel-efficient driver - and have heard of people who get 15+ on the highways - guess u need to do steady 80kmph speeds... Rgds, Sameer

When I first came to Bangalore I'd had very few Pizzas - this was way back in 1996. Near the 100 ft road and CMH road intersection in Indiranagar was a place called US Pizza with the Stars and Stripes defining its branding. No other 'US' Pizza chains were around then !! There is tons more in the book. But I primarily wanted people to be aware this great author exists (none of the people I know have read Bryson) and give a intro about what kind of writing to expect. Also - I read this a while ago and the details skip my mind. Maybe when (and if) I pick the book up... again, I'll add stuff to the review. Rgds, SameerRead More

While the sentiment of letting the flaws of a new model being ironed out are common and logical to a certain extent, the Indigo's engine, body,AC - most of it - has been already refined a lot in the Indica's various avataars. Basing a 'no-buy' on this reason alone is not justifiable and a little... unfair to the car. Of course, this is just my opinion. Rgds, SameerRead More

You've got a whole lot of things right about the paper. Its not the most serious paper you could get. Irani's editorials in the Statesmen were way crisper and meaningful. BUT I still read the TOI every morning with tea. This paper does have the ability to be all things to all people in all kinds o...f mood. I mean you cannot read the Hindu in 5 mins if u're in a hurry. TOI - u can in 5 or 50. Its a decent mix of a lot of things - including a national and regional focus. Not the best in breed for any specific area - but quite good overall. Your review itself was quite elaborate and spot on about specifics of TOI. Keep writing... SameerRead More
