I was taken aback! Bangalore Malls and no Big Bazaar!! What do we have on MouthShut - multi-millionaires ? Then it struck me - Big Bazaar customers must still be at the mall looking for better bargains.... :) No kidding - this is an amazing place. Not because its 3 floors of stuff, stuff and more stuff. Not because of the values you get on almost anything at all. Not because they also have a FabMart store inside their store. Not because of the huge popularity of the store. But because of the fact that after going there once - I at least check out the place once before going elsewhere to buy clothes/home stuff/small electronics/footwear/glassware/crockery..... I think you're beginning to get the idea by now... ? Big Bazaar (I've seen the Blore one so far) is a superstore which stocks such a huge variety of stuff you'll be surprised its an airconditioned mall. Some people actually refer to it as the AC footpath store - cause of the awesome prices you get stuff there at. From basic plastic buckets to 29 inch TVs - there's a deal on everything.

Theme Shopping Not long ago they had an exchange offer - you could bring in anything and exchange it for something at the store! Imagine trading your old buckets, clothes etc etc at a mall! There was a 'do-up-ur-home' festival and they did up parts of the store for this. Deepavali, Christmas, the New Year all saw the store adorn a new look each time to suit the occasion - and deals and goods to go along with it.

Super-deals There's always 3-for-1 or 2 deals. The last two pairs of jeans I bought there cost me less than 800/- combined! And they're more than a year old already and absolutely ok! Old stock goes so cheap you end up spending twice of what you'd planned for 3 times the clothes you thought you'd return with. They've got a lot of lesser known or upcoming brands. Not all the stuff is great and you could be a little selective - but you'll surely walk away with a VFM experience at the end of it all. Even branded stuff (Borosil and other brands) is at least 10-15% lesser than what you might find outside. Kids toys (would not recommend it for toddlers' stuff tho) is really really cheaper.

On the other hand.... Parking is always an issue! (its really popular) Their cafeteria is rather crude/basic and not very clean No place to sit if you're tired after a floor or two of browsing They charge for alterations (perhaps the margins are really too thin) The electronics sections looks 'poor' and does not have too much in stock. Sometimes tags on stuff are missing and this holds up check out for a considerable duration. Overall - I must say one always needs to save money even when one gets good stuff - so store should figure on your list before you check elsewhere.
