The reviews of Skoda Rapid Tdi on this forum seems to be fabricated. Every body is only praising the vehicle. The car is good. But the service personnel are giving all false information.

Dear friend, Discuss with some other workshops who deals with these kind of cars. They may be better conversant with skoda Rapid. Tinkering and painting I used to get it done from out side. Skoda I cannot afford.

Dear Anand, when in neutral press the clutch pedal with hand and see how much it goes down. It should be 20 to 25 mm. If it is more then shifting gears will be difficult. If it is less shifting will be easy. But with less clutch play ;ie less than 20 mm, it will overheat the release bearing and wear... out clutch. So check the clutch play in any garage. The gear mechanism will never go wrong in vehicles provided lubrication oil is available sufficiently in gear box. In worst case the counter gear which is made of bronze only will yield. This acts as a fuse, to protect the main gears. Dont worry nothing happened to your vehicle. Adjust the clutch play.Read More

Dear friend, My experience with Flipkart defers from yours. I received a car cover for my Skoda Rapid against my order on 4th Apr 2015. This order was placed based on the ad shown in the flipkart web. When the item received it was not the same. The cover has no provision for car roof antenna and sid...e view mirror which was shown in the ad. The cover was replaced as they were not ready for refund. They delivered another cover on 14th Apr 2015 which has the same deficiency as earlier one. I insisted for refund as they failed to deliver the proper item. On 27th Apr I left Bangalore and will return only on 12th May. Till date no refund and collection of defective items. Now what opinion I can have about flipkart.Read More

Dear Antony, I got my Skoda Rapid Tdi Ambition serviced at Vision Motors Thrissur on 23rd Sep 2013 when it was one year old and driven for 13400 KM. The free service means no labour charges ie; Rs.1200. The other mandatory item like Synthetic oil(4lit), oil filter, Polon filter and consumables are c...harged as per commitment made at the time of purchase. Now most of the items are indegenised and comes cheap like polon filter which was costing Rs. 1200 is now Rs.560. The bill for the first free service at Thrissur has come to Rs. 7400/=. The competence of the personnel at Vision Skoda to service this German car is only debatable.Read More

Dear Vicky, I purchased Rapid Tdi on 6th Oct 2012. The intimation for first free service was received from Thrissur dealer on 12th Sep 13. The odometer reading was 13400km. I reported for service on 23rd Sep 13. The car never has given me any trouble. The mileage Iam getting in highway is 18km/ltr a...nd 13 in city. I had reported a minor problem of water layer noticing under the floor mat at driver side. I suspected it is from AC condensation. They told that they cleared it and shown that the ac water is falling on the ground. But the water is still appearing under the floor mat. I asked them to lift the floor carpet and wipe out the old water accumulated there. They told that lifting part of floor mat is cumbersome task and they refused to do that. I approached their customer care at Aurangabag. They only forwarded my complaint to the dealer without even going thru the complaint. Now the SS is asking me to change the floor mat and purchase a new from them.
The Skoda Rapid Tdi is a good car. But unfortunately it is handled by incompetent and unskilled service personnel. Now Iam at Bangalore. Customer care personnel have advised me to approach a Service station at Bangalore and try my luck. Until then I will carry on with this problem. Iam surprised how they will survive in this market where rivals are presenting their product with neck to neck qualities.Read More

Dear friend, When brake pedal is jammed you can try this one. At a safe stretch drive the vehicle in reverse and apply brake. It may get released. Trial only.

Dear Deshmukh, The problem of engaging reverse gear is existing for most of the cars. Please confirm that the clutch play is 20 to 25 mm by pressing the pedal with one finger. If the problem still exists always with applied clutch shift to second and bring back to reverse. Any how release clutch car...efully/slowly while in the reverse and any abnormal grinding sound comes apply clutch and try again. If u are careless the counter gear or the gear shifting finger in Gear box will damage.Read More

WOooo it was Diesel. You have to compromise for the money you saved in fuel. The vibration of Diesel Dzire is not tolerable. However since the petrol price is sky rocketing we don`t have any alternative but to go for Diesel one day. ( we will be a fan of Diesel vehicle then). In Maruti ...garage you get (feel) stepmotherly treatment for Diesel vehicle since very few trained personnel available to attend Diesel vehicles. Any how Maruti spares are cheap, personnel are good. The no. of service station and satisfaction of MASS you will never get for any brands. Which vehicle you have now.Read More

Dear Ajeet, The response of Maruti Suzuki is now a days very poor. They have already released lakhs of vehicle. They are not in position to satisfy these many customers. After every free services they used to send feed back forms to be furnished by customers. When I gave poor feed back for the first... two free services they blacklisted me and never forwarded feedback form for third service. Dear friend, The hinge bracket of boot cover is projecting up near the rear glass under the parcel tray. If the tray also made parrallel, the rear view will be difficult. This sedan is a indian design and converted from Swift. I happened to see a stripped accident vehicle in a garage. There are so m...any flaws in the design. Since the sales of Dzires are in huge nos with a long waiting period and no Competitors are close by they may not be bothered about the customer response. Since the fabric seat provided is not good and difficult to maintain tidy you will be going for a new seat cover. At that time add few inches of foam for the front seats.Read More

Dear manish, It is only the mileage of 17.9 KPL reported by ARAI for Dzire (K) which pinches most. The Dzire (K) w/o ARAI report is the best sedan available. The same ARAI has given 16.3 KPL for M 800. Any body knows that M800 will return 20 KPL on highway (which I was getting for my M 800 even thou...gh Iam not the so called ideal driver). The mileage of all Maruthi cars are conveniently fabricated. Some are inflated ( which no body will get) and some are less ( which are getting for any unskilled drivers). The ARAI figures are very good excuse for Maruthi. Only they can make some owners happy and some desperate. Since the sale of Diesel Dzire and Swift vehicles are out numbering the petrol variants they want to some how attract the petrol vehicles.

Driving at speed of 55 to 60 Km/hr continuesly in a good road is not practical. It requires lot of patience. Your co passengers will leave your vehicle and search for another alternative. It will be boring to drive a Dzire (K) with in this speed range. At least at 100 KM/hr speed it ...should give the mileage of max 17 KPL. I have travelled long distances several occassions. With lot of patience I could attain max 16.5 KPL only( NH 47 Trichur to Avinasi) w/o A/c. My worst figure is 13.8 from Salem to Bangalore at high speed with A/c ( speed 120-140 KM/hr). I want to inform that Iam 57 years old. I appreciate your patience and curiosity regarding the performance of your car Dzire Vxi.Read More

Initially you will feel the pick up. But after few thousand KM you will adjust to your vehicle. Then u will feel the pick up is not as earlier, Brake is not effective and the music system is not as good as others. This is normal feeling. The Maruthi suzuki also may be having the app...rehension of lack of power with 1200CC engine in a sedan. They might have turned the engine accordingly. The car might have sent to ARAI with economy turning and managed to get the magic figure 17.8 KPL. It is true that K series has not contributed any thing on SWIFT Dzire in regard to power or mileage. It is a good looking healthy ' white Elephant' . Any how you have purchased it. At least pretend that u are enjoying the car. If u get a ARAI certificate stick on to the windshield. Iam getting 12 in city and 16.5 in highway w/o A/c at moderate speed. Iam driving car since 15 years. Only this car has prooved that Iam not a good driver.Read More

Dear friend, The vibration of Dzire Diesel car is unbearable. Let it run for 5000 Km and above. The vibration will feel too much especially during idle.. The vehicle is however powerful. You will feel very comfortable untill you travel in Dzire Vxi K series. The Dzire diesel economy is best among ot...her cars. But the vibration is too much. Same engine is fitted in Inica Vista. But it is comparatievely smooth. The Ford fiesta Diesel also very comfortable and silent. If the Dzire Diesel is very good and economical, you will soon see fleets of its taxis on the road as Logon and Inica. The taxis will tarnish the image of these vehicle as it happened to Logan, Indica and Indigo. Pray that it should not happen.Read More

Dear satish, The mileage you got is correct.If you drive carefully you may get 13 KPL in city and 16.5 in highway. The mileage is too much depend on driving condition in this car. I got a mileage of 12.8 KPL in highway with A/c and highspeed driving. If you want optimum mileage in highway you have t...o drive 55 to 60 Km/hr which is not practical.
I checked the condition of engine oil after 5000 Km.It has become thin and having petrol smell. It is adviceable to change engine oil after 5000 Km. The claim of MUL for change of oil only after 10,000 Km is misleading. If u love your vehicle change E Oil and oil filter at IInd Inspection. The service station was earlier against change of oil. But when they saw the drained out oil they agreed with me.Read More
