I found your review quite useful. I have recently taken a Club Mahindra membership for Rs. 254260 as a White Season member for 25 years. I have already made a 10% down payment of Rs. 25426/-. My payment plan is such that I now have to pay around 40% by June 2010 and balance within two-...three years. The second option is to pay a monthly emi @ 18% for 5 years which works out at 5673 per month. Apart from this there is an ASF of Rs. 8000/- every year for next 25 years which is bound to increase. My Club Mahindra membership will start effectively from the year 2011 although I can avail the benefit of being a member in 2010 as well. Now here are the benefits that I am getting as a Club Mahindra member.
1.) One week holiday in any of Club Mahindra resorts or associated resorts in India and worldwide (though RCI)
2.) Complimentary RCI membership free for 2 years
3.) Complimentary 2 weeks bonus holidays every year starting from 2010 as long as my RCI membership is valid. For these holidays I only have to pay an exchange fee for between Rs. 3500-9000 (for one week) in Indian destinations and Rs.13000 (for one week) or less in foreign destinations to stay in any five star hotel or resort in India or worldwide for one week by paying only the exchange fee.
4.) Complimentary 5nights/6days holidays and 2nights/3days holidays which I can avail as a member in 2010 whereas my membership starts from 2011.
5.) Complimentary air tickets for Rs. 20000
6.) Complimentary food vouchers for Rs. 4000
Therefore, based on the above calculations, kindly advise me whether it is worth taking their membership or not. Please note that instead of one I have three weeks in a year (original Club Mahindra week and 2 bonus RCI weeks) and I have an option to sell my original one week holiday for Rs. 25000-30000 every year for which Club Mahindra will charge 3% commission. Also my bonus RCI weeks can be availed in the Red season or Purple season since I am paying my exchange fee.Read More
