Ok Ips - Since one thing that stood out in your comment was OM, I will join the party. But then another thing that stood out was that I will come when I like and can only leave when the bunch of girls from Looneville like. So I only request you all to be nice to me. Ab to humne soch liya hai ....... ki giri hai jis par kal bijli woh apna hi aashiyan kyun ho?Read More

Your warning is apt and bang on target. Probably there is a lesson in it for me. But I am not that bad either - or that is what I think. There have been days when I have spent too much time here as well. Now do give the names.

:-) Nice and short review. I have neither seen the movie and nor read the book. Could not follow all the discussion here in comments section. But tell me - do u think I will like the book?

Ratna, The anecdote you began the writeup with, has already acquired a status of a legend, I think. And this is how a legend ought to be. You gave some very good details of this legendary personality which I was also not fully aware of. And see not all have forgotten him - You remember, an...d remember with so much reverence :-)Read More

Jaya - I am usually late these days. But I know you won't mind too much. Your love for SRK shines through in this one :-) And what a beautiful title you have chosen. I will never forget it. Your review has made sure that I will watch this movie very soon. I like SRK more in these kinds of ...a role where he is more challenged to do justice to a role. Take care - SumitRead More

Ips - Yep could manage to see pandas although there was a queue for the same. And the day was quite hot. Yes the cruise is simply out of this world. Esp when it takes you below that majestic bridge. My jet lag lasted for 2 days but then it was all so busy and festive out there that I did n...ot mind. So now I will very easily be able to say that SD is def better than SFO. There is no doubt in my mind that SD is the best place on west coast that I have visited. My paper at the symposium went fabulously. Thanks for remembering. How is Boston treating you? I went there in the fall of 1998 and fell in love with that place (esp Cambridge)Read More

Ipsi - So I am back to waste your space here :-) Just saw your comment to Nishi's review. Rather than wasting her space, I thought I will take that liberty with you :-) Ok SD was terrific - in fact I will say one of the best places in this part of the world, I have visited. I went to Balboa... zoo ... but could not cover it fully. I was staying at Loews Coronado Hotel. Went on sea cruise one day - that was fab! Also loved the San Diego bridge - wow what a piece of human creation that bridge really is!!! Bazaar del Mundo was also terrific. Had some cool Mexican food there. Saw Hotel Del Coronado from outside - actually took a bus trip to the city so our guide did full justice to his income by informing us about everything. In fact the downtown itself is amazing. Thanks to you for this write-up.... and now that I have been to this place, I wish I could give you a rating above VU!Read More

Hi Ipsi - Yep the mystery is finally solved. Hey hey - 'boss' seems such a heavy word :-) You changed your snap. This one is good but a lil difficult to understand and relate to. SD was fabulous - simply too good. Covered a lot of places you mentioned. Cheers! - Sumit

Writing on any topic such as this is a tough work. I like the way you describe something at times - 'A pure silk see-through nightgown' - hey hey. Your write up reminded me of all these old songs. Esp jeele le, jeele le ... and I still recall the song shot in wilderness of a jungle. About Ali...sha - me not a big fan. Although some of her songs are def good. Like I like her duet in Don - 'aaj ki raat..' And yes very good attempt at translations too :-) - SumitRead More

'N' - Sorry I cannot call you Kavya and you know why. You also know why I called you 'N'. So do change your profile now and make it reflect your true identity :-) First of all about the write-up - I would kind of agree with what Rohit said - you have mostly written about one person. However si...nce you have only written sweet things about that person, it is fine :-) So you remember so much from those days? And see I have not gone away. How can I fade when you wrote in such a convincing manner ? In fact it is a 'flying' mail which told me of this else I would have never known of this review. I made a mistake - the day you wrote in FE's comments section that you will write about me, I should have set an alert! And yes - your observation power is good - it is as good as it was back then. All this about my smoking and relating it to my last review on Ruskin ... hmmm :-) Just for the sake of it let us not solve that mystery here about my leaving abruptly. Although I know that you probably know. This is what I liked about people who joined from your batch - they were very intelligent and very observant! I hope you all are doing well. And oh yes! One thing where you went wrong. You said in your first comments to my review that I used to carry a Nokia handset back then. No it used to be Siemens C25 :-) - SumitRead More

Ipsi Again :-) Yep such places usually hold me for long. Hopefully I will get an opportunity to visit them in some future trip of mine. I have never been to Colorado. Although I can make out from your comment that it is a beuatiful place. Global Warming - I still remember your take on it :...-) and it is sad to see the changing face of mother earth because of the same. Yes it all comes to money. Like my dreamy writer also said - 'Oh! And I can't compete with the car' Cheers! -SumitRead More

Roorkee is one place I want to visit. I believe it is on foothills of Himalayas so that makes it extra special. Loved your description of MBL. A lot of points in your review make me feel like writing about my own take on my college/ hostel life. The nostalgia is apparent in your write-up. Beau...tifully described. Cheers! - SumitRead More

I am usually not first to post comments. But seems I am lucky today. I liked your review and believe me your review seemed to have more substance for me than the book itself. I don't know why till date I have not been able to read DC's books. I am somewhat reluctant to read his books. Probably I ...am not still at a level where I can understand them. However I am at a level where I can understand your reviews well :-) Cheers! - SumitRead More

Paul Again :-) - I like your opening lines on injecting emotions in one's review. Ok I will wait for your review today. Ipsi - So how is Nebraska ? Happy you like the review. Happy to see all of the dreamers connecting so well :-) Yep growing up kills half of the dreamy self... and that is anyway needed. Paul - You overwhelm me with your comment :-) I do not know how much time you spent reading my review and then the comments and then finally writing the splendid comment that you did, but the comment you wrote out-performs my review itself :-) It is a beautiful summary of what good things p...eople have said about my review. I was not very sure if people will like it much although this is one review which I like a lot. It was written quite a few days back but never made it to MS ... and finally I thought it should ... And the response to it whelmed me :-)Read More
