I could get remote control units from china, it cost me 750 per piece, I bought 4. In fact the Chinese store in shanghai that I searched thru Internet offered me a price of Rs.100 per piece if I pick a 100 piece. It works pretty cool. Ridiculous local Daikin office continue to keep a 2500 price tag ...still.Read More

Over a year now, I just hv one remote working off the three units I bought. We had a Daikin engineer Mr. Deepak visit us, understand the issue, take some photos, I showed him the o'general unit we use and it's remote as well, that's the last I heard of the good Mr. Deepak. No support virtually.

I am a frequent user of Online sites as Landmark etc. for my book purchase and use Ebay occassionally. As long as the things go well, we do not have any issues.
If there is trouble, then the process is not an easy one.
Good thing about the process is Ebay Guarantee, if you report that th...Read more

Probably an upgraded version, some lessons learnt I am sure. Our remote controls for all three units are same, bulky, non fluorescent ones. Interestingly even at daytime the glare is so high we have to hold it angular to use them.
Above all, my posts in Daikin service site attracted feeble eff...orts to solve my issue offering to test the remote control units[at my cost as there will be no replacement provided], only assurance was that they will sell me the new remote at a reduced cost now.
As expected, the commitments remain unfulfilled till date. Interestingly, despite the fact that I was looking at a AC solution for our new apartment.

We own two FT50s & a FT 60 in our household. All are under three years of age. pretty expensive contraptions, we fell for the brand unfortunately at that time.
Daikin service team seldom responds to query, Probably overconfident at the reputation the brand carried our queries on the web page ...Read more

Fitness Equipment- CP199 AFTON Treadmill

Afton Equipment I managed to follow up with Shagun and have my machine rectified recently, It had to be a motor replacement regardless, cost me around 8500 with some frames replaced as well, i was advised a belt replacements and had to pollitely decline. It was taken out, wshed and reinstalled. mach...ine is fine as it should be after this expense. Shagun appears to be good in service but sometimes the servise costs are not appearing commensurate, else teh way Mr. Babu managed the service was impressive I must say.

Afton treadmill - A fresh look ( Dec-09)

Poor After Sales support on Afton Products I own the Afton Treadmill CP199 since last two years, serviced by M/s Shagun enterprises in Chennai. It worked fine till recently when the machine stopped and after arduous 4 week follow up the service engineer told the bill of Rs. 9500 for a motor and PCB... replacement, as there is nothing wrong with motor and it is working fine and its only supply to motor that was not working, I had to convince everyone in the hierarchy upto their operations head Mr. Mahendran to just fix PCB. The repair was only agreed after we demonstrated the motor is running perfectly fine.
The PCB repair is plainly replacing the thyristors in the circuit, I know it is not expensive but I was charged 1500 which was fine. but the machine never worked even once after repair, Shagun had a caveat that PCB could fail even after repair in a week or something at times and its my own risk.
I know when servicing they hv reset the belt tension that can lead to more current being drawn and hence the machine keeps tripping off, consolidating blame on motor, so they can dump me a bill of another 8000 and They also maintained that erratic power supply as an issue and told me that a stabiliser for another 1500 to be bought, Again I had to demonstrate we have a dedicated transformer in our commuunity of 22 Villas and we get 240 V with negligible variations.
Afton is a fantastic equipment, I owe my fitness to the same, but unfortunately they chose a wrong partner in India in my view, the myopic Shagun is out to make money at anything customer calls for,I already have a set of lubes, some basic tools etc sold to me over time.
I am not giving in to Shagun tactics, but I like the eqpt, is there a better service agency that can provide better service or is there a good equivalent eqpt available with good after sales service. I would be very obliged to know, Regards, UmashankarRead More
