I am 6ft 4inch tall and do not have any problems. I rarely have anyone sitting behind me so that does not bother me. I agree the car looks big on the outside but is small on the inside.

Very well written review. Nice to read a review done by someone who owns a car rather than a review based on imagination.

Wow you think the Safari is good. Ever tried pulling away from lights in it. Rikshaw riders get away faster. The Safari which was designed by the same team that did the Land Rover Discover is looking very dates now. It would be an idea for Tata to follow Land Rover and give it a makeover.

Sanjay thanks for your comments. The 'original' reviewer was for some strange reason allowed to use abusive language against other mouthshut users but when users abused him he ran to admin like a school kid and got them thrown off mouthshut. Still the internet is a vast place and it is not too h...ard to have another review up and on site in a few minutes. I do have a few minor quips about the car but nothing major. It would be nice to have a range of decent after market add ons / accessories for the car. I am fed up of the double tape accessories. Why not give us a proper chrome efect grill and door handles. Besides that the car is greta and best of all it is 100% Indian (ok the suspension had some korean input).Read More

Its all coming out now. GM are taking the Cherry company to court becasue the car is just a copy of a GM car (I think one of the small Daewoo cars). So the chinese are just copying cars rather than designing and building.

Test Drove a new land rover discovery last week. It is a nice car but very heavy. If it was lighter it would be even better than the range rover. The Scorpio is the start of things for Mahindra, things can only progress.

I know what you are saying about the Chinese manufacturers but the cars they produce are poor quality. the only decent quality cars coming out of china are from the VW plant. Land Rover may not be doing very well financially but their products are a cut above Jeeps. Also the Jeep ais not the... go all vehicle you think it is. In Afghanistan it was the humble Landcruiser that was wanted by the warlords when the US went in and not the Jeep. The Jeep may be highly rated in the US but elsewhare it is seen as an average product. Rome was not built in a day and in a similar fashion it will take a while for the Indian auto industry to evolve. The current range from Indian auto majors is more than adequate for the Indian market. The Indian consumer always has the option of spending 35 lakh on a Toyota SUV if they want one.Read More

Mr PooDev. Just been out and checked a Nov 2003 Landcruiser I currently have sitting on the drive and it certainly has vertical slots. If you want I could even email you some pictures to prove it If you expect Indian companies to develop revolutionary designs you have got to be living in dream c...uckoo land. The Indian car industry is just beginning relative to the world car industry and I am glad they are not going the way of Lada by producing cheap rubbish. You want a cheap cars get a Maruti 800. And yes it is based on an old Suzuki design because Suzuki were the major partner in the Maruti project when it started and now actually own Maruti. As for your off roading. Jeeps are laughed at in Europe for being crap off road and on road. You want to do serious off roading buy a Land Rover Defender, Range Rover or even try the new Discovery. Read More

From your review it appears you have a gripe against the Indian car industry and so vent this out on the Scorpio. You have not driven the car and as such your review is worthless. As for the Toyota talk. I suggest you get out of your cocoon and look at the variants Toyota produce across the wo...rld (not just the US) and you will see the angle I am coming from. The car industry is not centred on the US. You want to build hotrods and spaceships in your garage with your neighbours you do that ! Please if you are going to write a car review then please do an actual review rather than giving us your opinions on the Indian car industry and claiming it is a review of the Scorpio.Read More

Not much to this review. The user lacks real knowledge about the product. Firstly if the reviewer knew anything about the Scorpio he would know it has never been marketed as an SUV. The engine is more than adequate for Indian users. I have owned & traded more than 30 cars in the last f...inancial year ranging from humble family cars to a 04 Range Rover HSE and for the price I still say you cannot beat a Scorpio. The car is not an imitation of any other car. If Mahindra had wanted to copy they would not have wasted hundreds of crores on developing the Scorpio and could easily have got in alliance with an overseas auto major and built cars from kit as many other manufacturers do. Give us your review not what you have heard other people to say about a brake failure. If we want second hand reviews we can all copy something form an auto mag.Read More

Yes some words are unnecessary but I have kept them in with good intentions (LOL). This is an actual review unlike some other reviews made up by people. I doubt my review will remain online long enough to get any ratings. No doubt by right to free speech will be suppressed.

I read all the reviews out here on the Scorpio. Just one question - How many of you guys think that the Scorpio has never been crash tested? Well you are totally wrong. The Scorpio is sold in Europe and in Europe, crash testing falls under the Federation International de Automobile, which pub...Read more

The review is simply a load of rubbish. This guy expects heated leather seats in a 7 lakh car. Goodness knows what he would expect in a Toyota Landcruiser (real gold finish and James Bond type gadgets spring to mind). The car is sold in Europe so has to meet stringent safety standards, again t...he writer is ignorant of this. Read More
