More reasons to hate Bangalore:

-----------------------------------------

The city’s infrastructure is on the verge of collapse. Theres a shortage of potable water in all localities.

Like some places in Tamil Nadu I fear water will soon be sold at Rs.2 per pot. You have to drill a borewell more than 600-800 feet to get clean water. And that too will dry up in 3-4 years

Traffic conditions are the pits right now. It takes one hour to get to any useful place. There are no more footpaths left in the city. Pedestrians have to do gymnastics to cross roads or just to survive.

Public transport is inadequate and inefficient. Not enough busses and even worse the new layouts on the outskirts are not even covered. You need a vehicle of your own here.

Nearly all the construction work going on has atleast 30-40% deviation from the sanctioned plan. But work proceeds unhindered and unquestioned by anyone. The reasons are quite simple. All the underworld money has started pouring in from Bombay and Dubai. Big time builders are all sponsored by dirty money.

And theres a severe shortage of all construction material. Sand costs Rs.22,000 per truck load simply because the local sand quarries are exhausted and truckers have to get it 800km away from Andhra pradesh.

The cops and politicians dont seem to be getting laid enough which makes them want to shut down the Dance bars by 11pm and prevent others from unwinding.

I dont think this city will exist 50 years from now. If you notice nearly all great cities in India - bombay, delhi etc are on the banks of a river or water body. Theres only parthenium around Bangalore.

Reasons why bangalore rocks:

--------------------------------------

Lots of week end travel spots. None more than 200 km. Since I like trekking I like the convenience of a big city nearby.

Excellent traffic conditions to practice driving. The ideal place to practice your car and bike riding skills. Basically you need to drive like in a video game weaving in and out of traffic. Of course unlike a video game you only get one chance :(

Reasons why bangalore sucks:

--------------------------------------

Zero night life.

Zero entertainment daytime too.

Awful theatres. Badly maintained. Horrible food inside.

Pollution. If you wear a light shirt and travel by bike to work it’ll be black by the time you reach.

Very few good eating places.

Okay theres one place I like. A chain of restaurants called ADIGA’S in Jayanagar, MG Road, etc.. Lovely food.

Bad weather. This is for personal reasons. As long as I live in Bangalore I’m gonna suffer from colds and coughs. I hate the weather. I’m from the west coast myself. I prefer the sea anyday - Mangalore, Goa, Kerala.

Too crowded. I hate people. Call me a misanthrope if you will but there are just too many people here.

I’m not recommending Bangalore simply because I dont want anymore people here. Stay where you are people.

Cheers all.
