I read all the reviews out here on the Scorpio.

Just one question - How many of you guys think that the Scorpio has never been crash tested? Well you are totally wrong. The Scorpio is sold in Europe and in Europe, crash testing falls under the Federation International de Automobile, which publishes the Euro NCAP results. Since 1998, all new cars sold in the European Union are tested.

I cant blame Mahindra?s since its not necessary per Indian laws, I blame morons who like to scaremonger.

I am pretending in my imagination that I am driving a Scorpio now. Not mine thankfully. So I?m driving with my eyes blindfolded sitting next to my imaginary friend Bobo the clown.

Here?s what I feel: Looks: I am the ugliest person ever made. Enough about me lets talk about the Scorpio, everything is in proportion. The front grill borrows from the Toyota Landcruiser. I?ve not seen better creativity on window grills. I like the rear end treatment though. Its classy. But one good section does not a vehicle make so lets look at the rest of the car.

Legroom: Okay in front. the same in the back. The seats at the extreme rear are only meant for kids.

Lighting, sound and electrics: Bright headlights. Thats the good part. The speakers fitted as standard are not too loud either.

Engine: Powerful enough for the city. It is a diesel and this is a Mahindra so we do not expect it to sound like a Mercedes diesel. Of course not as noisy as the rest of the Mahindra vehicles and it costs only 7 lakhs for Christs sake.

Suspension: OK. Only the front passengers are insulated. The rest of the passengers will suffer going over the bumps and potholes in India. If you want more double up your money and buy a Ford Endeavour.

Steering: Power steering the only saving grace. The turning radius is big as it is a large vehicle. Those wanting a small turning circle should buy a Bajaj scooter. The steering can feel too light.

Visibility: Front and sides are okay. But you cant see much else. Parking is an effort if you are a 3 foot midges and do not have enough cushions to prop yourself on.

Off road ability: The Scorpio is not an SUV and is not marketed as one. Some morons expect Traction control, Anti lock brakes, Stability control and Slip differentials??? I ask them what do you expect for 7 lakh. If you want more, pay 35 lakh and buy a Shogun/Pajero. When I say off road, I mean serious off roading. Going to Kashmir looking for brothels does not count as off roading.

Speed: I start laughing when people tell me they travel at 140 kmph on the Scorpio. Its not a sports car and Indian roads are rubbish. If you want to travel at those crazy speeds buy a Skoda Octavia (still the hub of jokes in Europe despite VW now owning Skoda). All you guys who travel above 100 kmph on such vehicles and survive obviously have God watching over your shoulder. Good luck.

Fit and finish: I like the paint job. Good colours and seems to be a long lasting variety. Interiors are great. If you are a dimwit and expect heated leather seats in a 7 lakh car then you should save your money and get a brain transplant (even a transplant with a monkeys brain will improve your brain).

Wheels: I?ve read some reviews saying how much they love the ??big bulbous?? wheels. Have you guys ever tried changing tyres on the Scorpio ? Again unless you are a 3 foot midget or a total freak its not too hard to change the tyre.

All said and done if a vehicle is crash tested for the EU market I will buy it.
