u must be seriously kidding me, I have done more than 15K kms just travelling for long distances many places over southern part of India. Have tortured the bike for hours, that after modifying it, and doing no run in at all, I can only laugh at the reviews of these sorts, where no concrete data... is available. Just think a guy who has bought the bike 2 days back, can talk about the goodness of the bike for long distances. Does it not sound suspicious?Read More

There is no difference between the fiero and apache bore. When it comes to cylinder head assembly the valves are the same on both the fiero and the apache. However the camshaft is different with a higher lift than the fiero and the f2, the ignition system and the ignition timing is remapped for ...better performance. The rocker arms are replaced by roller arms. With regard to reliability, I have seen fieros doing 100+ kms even with a piston ring change. But i do agree that the rocker arms and the camshaft wear out, but once you replace it, its as good a new one. I would not doubt on the reliablity of the engine which is totally based on the fiero platform. Cheers Member of Engine hackers Read More

The new apache will have a Dual Over Head Cam with a 185 cc engine. Will sure be a seriously fast bike. Dont be surprised if it takes the P220 on performance if not the features.

Hi, Even I have done 120 on the speedo. But the true speed would be around 114-115. No offenses meant to anyone. I do agree that the headlight fairing vibrates on speeds of above 80 kmph

Dude do you know what you are talking about. If you dont know let me tell you, its an absolute crap. U say the pulsar is the fastest, you are invited for a drag. I know you will shut up after u have lost. Stop this negative publicity, Whatever you say or write crap about the bike, it is not ...going to influence. I bet you are one guy who is pissed off every time an apache zooms past you. May god help you to keep u in good mental health. Check on the facts of what Bajaj does to its models of the bikes it produces. First came the 4S champion which became the Boxer and then later renamed it as CT100 and now Platina. Why so many brands for particular bike which has the same damn thing in it (mind you i'm not talking about the cosme...tic changes). Where did the hoodibaba go? Wind go? (I do like the wind as it had a very good chasis design) Discover & Pulsar are good bikes agreed, but can that taken as granted that they are the best or no other company can better them. Of course TVS has also come up with various models, but they dont give the same thing with different name. They initially got the Centra with VTi technology and later stopped the same and later came up with the star city (mind you this bike is totally a reworked bike in every aspect). Victor is still the same except for Victor GLX which earlier had VTi technology and now it does not have the VTi technology. Fiero was an excellent bike, F2 was an average bike, apache is an excellent bike (no matter what people say, bcoz i'm very happy with the bike). Hero honda has a lot of models but splendour, passion is the most non VFM bikes in India. They only relaunch most of their bikes with new stickers or rather I call it cosmetic changes. Now Srinivas dont take me wrong, its matter of fact no matter how you react to this. Honda - absolutely no words for the refinement for the engine, except for which I cannot say to much that brings positives to Honda. Again they are non VFM bikes, I do agree with Bajaj being the ones who started this VFM concept and thrived all these days. VFM makes most other competitors to provide VFM products or else they will lose out for sure. HH sales have dropped from 2.42lac vehicles to 2.11lac vehicles which speaks for itself. Not the least, Bajaj too has taken help in designing bikes, now dont tell them did it all inhouse. No offenses to anyone.Read More

First of all I totally agree with Samir, I've done 9500+ kms on my apache in 5 months with absolutely no problem. I did not do any sort of run-in or break-in. Yet the bike is doing very well. Vibes have disappeared (just check and tighten the footrest mounting bolts and engine mounting bolts a...t each service and that will do for ya). Reliability is one of the main aspects of TVS which makes it sell. Go check out even the TVS moped a puny two-wheeler which lasts lot long, the chasis of TVS are one of the best and I mean what I say. A shogun's chasis with holes drilled in is stilll holding up even after 5 years. If thats not reliability then what is? Apache is slowest? (i'm laughing my a$$ out here hearing to that statement). Will for sure invite the dumbo to drag with me and for sure he will laugh at his own statement. ReRead More

Hi guys, Just back from a 1200kms long trip to the western ghats. Tested the bikes capabilities that with a pillion and heavy luggage (almost equal to another person’s weight). Just treated the bike in worst possible way and yet it has come good and brought a very broad smile on ma face. But ...in the rain at around 10.30 pm hit a road divider, luckily nothing happened except for the rear brake pedal got cut and the foot rest bent. Have to get the lever fixed up immediately. Rode back for about 55 kms in the rain without rear brakes. Now if that aint reliability, I dont what one can describe what reliability is (this is not intended at anyone, this is just to give the info to the people in here who have been mislead by writing some rubbish like engine will die down after 4000 kms or it will have problems. Till date I have done 9000 kms of absolute thrashing, yet I dont find any problems, touch wood, lol) Anyways all is well that ends well. Read More

Hi sagar, The bike is excellent value for money and also better in many ways than the rival in the segment. Of course TVS has used the rival as the benchmark to exceed the same. Vibrations appears only when you enter the power band at around 4.5k-5k rpm, beyond which the vibrations are almos...t non-existent and more over at that rpm the bike pulls crazily. If you have ridden a shogon or supra you will know what I am talking about. Thats what I just love about this bike. Please Note: I doubt that you can book on Sunday, If festival schemes and additional days being worked then It could be a possibility. Cheers!!!!!!!!!!Read More

Hi, Its just a trial and error i'm trying out which will make me poorer by a few hundred rupees. TVS recommends 20W40 oil. I have used Castrol Power1, but just wanted to try something different and hence tried this one. If this does not do any good, I will revert back to Castrol Power1.

I guess samir and anand have read my earlier reviews. I literally did not run in my bike. As on date I have done very close to 8000 kms, 90-95% of this mileage done is total ripping with out giving a damn about the break down or anything of that sort about the engine. My friends who accompany me ...on long rides are just seeing how I just thrash the bike all along, no matter what the distance is. Very recently I did 200+ kms from Salem started from Salem at noon. I guess I dont need to tell you people about the weather at Salem (damn its real hot). I just rode non stop at almost full throttle with just two breaks (stops for coffee and to buy Water, each break which lasted well less than 10 mins). I have been using just ordinary engine oil, but recently changed it with synthetic oil (15W-50 oil). Again this has nothing to do with the engine or anything, just changed it bcoz it lasts a great deal longer than the normal oil which is also works out cheaper. I wonder how people who just take test rides and tell the bike is not reliable (he must simply a god or devil, prolly the latter). Soon taking it on a very long ride. Prolly this will be the route which i would take - Bangalore-Chennai-Pondicherry-Rameshwaram-Kanyakumari-Trivandrum-Ernakulam-Mangalore-Bangalore. I bet that would easily cover up over 2000 kms. If I were worried I would not go out such rides that too alone if apache is not reliable. Guys please given a chance to read OVERDRIVE magazine just check out the 300cc-Vtwin Fiero built and we recently tested it. Its damn quick. It has got a 4-speed fiero gear box. The bike can easily cruise at 140 km/hr without too much effort. 100+ speeds are just at ease. People interested to more about that bike can email me at n.krishna.p@gmail.com. Now one guy will pop up and say that I am trying to mislead ppl on MS. Funny lol.Read More

I dont have any intention to mislead anybody, i just put forth my view based on personal experience. Neighter do I need to mislead anybody nor is it my business. Try to understand what I have commented. I have clearly mentioned it as per my experience. Now every person can have a good experience... or a bad experience. Here again i am just stressing that the view is from my personal experience and i dont need to sell this to anyone or mislead and i dont gain anything out of it. It also depends how much you take care of the bike. If u screw its maintenance up, it will for sure screw ur wallet in return.Read More

The person seems to have been pissed off at seeing better bikes than he is having one. Either he must be own some crap from Bajaj or HH. I have used the fiero, victor and now apache. Fiero is still a good match for pulsar, let alone apache. Victor my odo reading is 55k kms. Fiero 29k kms (now... used by my cousin). Apache 6800 kms. Now u dare come talk to me. I have seen guys changing clutch plates of bikes made from Bajaj every 15k kms. HH even a nut and bolt costs a bomb. As per my experience TVS bikes are very reliable and pretty easy on the wallet to run too. Now just stop this crap and look for a better thing to do in life.Read More

U got it right again buddy. Even I suspect something fishy with the review. Even i have completed almost 5000 kms and the way I am riding the bike and playing around with the tuning and the tappets the engine must have been scrapped by this time. But the truth is different, the engine is very smo...oth, delivering power in any gear with twist of the throttle. If the guy who wrote the review is in Bangalore I want him to see the way I ride the bike, I bet for sure he will be dumbstruck. I also think it is the same other guy who wrote a review that engine will get scrapped after 4000 kms. An absolute rubbish. Once again Apache is AWESOME!!!!!!!!! Hi, This is myself again on the old id. I had to brake hard once when i was doing about 100 km/hr o Bandipur roads as i found Elephants standing right in the middle of the road. The brakes are pretty good, but i still say it can be more responsive and progressive.
