I am back again. Wanted to update the review. My old id is n.krishna.p. I have done 4670 kms as on date. The bike is running wonderfully well. First service done at 922 kms. The service quality was acceptable but not exceptional. Second service done at 2882 kms. Got the service done at Zen Motors, the service is really good here.
In my first review I have mentioned most of the points. This is to update the same after running the bike for over 4500 kms. The engine is smooth, pretty silent, will live up to a lot of torture (like I gave it while returning back from ooty that’s about 296 kms with just one stop for about 10 mins to answer the nature call, else the bike was running at almost full throttle all the time and hence returned back from Ooty exactly in 4 hours and 35 mins. Did 122 on the speedo (not true speed). Handling in any weather is really good. I have switched to TVS Jumbo 100/90*18 tyres as I do off roading too. The bike is doing really fine)
But as always being a bike enthusiast, I have a few points that I admire and a few points that can be bettered on Apache.
Points that are admired
Fantastic engine – The engine is very reliable, I did a 296 kms ride non stop at full throttle for most of the time. The engine did not show any sort of fatigue. Hence it is admired. Fuel Efficiency: The bike is consistently giving me over 55 kmpl (avg riding speed is above 60 km/hr most of the time in the city of Bangalore). Highway efficiency is even more admireable 58+ kmpl. Stability & Handling: One word, its just “FANTASTIC”.
Few areas which needs to be considered and bettered.
The rear break pedal and alignment can be bettered. Dampers can be used to eliminate the vibrations (here again which are negligible). Give a much brighter headlights (atleast 60/55W), even apache has the best set of headlights in the segment, People like me who ride the bike out on the highways wud be helped a lot. Improve the rear brake response. It is satisfactory, but from my point of view if could be better if it was more responsive. The disc brakes has no complaints absolutely. To improve the sprocket quality especially the front sprockets, absolutely no complaints with the rear sprocket.
The gears are slick. The bike is giving good mileage. Already had 4 rides out of Bangalore on the bike. First one to BR Hills (540 kms in a day), Nandi Hills (117 kms), Mekedhat (208 kms) and the most recent one ride to Himvad Gopala Swamy Betta and Ooty and surrounding places. (690 kms in a day).
