sandeepdhawan_83 now do you call my review a crapped nonsense? ha ah ah ah ah ah ah ah aha look whos talking? and by the way is anand the R&D guy for bajaj? mmuuaahha ah ah ah!!! one thing is for sure one has to be really Lucky to get a well fabricated PULSAR, they seriously dont believe in so...mething called Quality Control when the bike is in the assembly line!!! and hence all the mixed responses, many get awesome machinery and many like me suffer this hell and we fight here for their inhibition. and if pulsar is such a freaky awesome machine where are all the bikes that were on the road two years ago? wanna know? the scrapyard!!!!!!!! of course! dont support the pulsar mate if it was the best bike then i dont think the unicorn and karizma would have come so far. and to day the hondas and the hero hondas out sell bajaj! and pulsar is now completely lost it! and mind you the bajaj too has had it with R&D and shit, they are going to import the KTMs or the ninja 250s even the new 200 is total crap! and quiet sadly the 220 too except for its bling!!!! pulsar for the freaking show, its all go and no show stuff in the long run. By: anandrenake | Jan 25, 2007 03:29 PM Well I guess you are the one who really understands me here... People just tend to jump on me because I criticise ’em a lot! I had a lot of fun making these above people tear off their hair out! As for me and honda, I like the real honda NOT ...hero honda which is sheep in tiger’s disguise... I dont understand why people drool over hero honda bikes thinking they have some hi tech Honda technology. Hero honda’s endurance is nowhere near the jap honda and people have difficulty in accepting this. If you understand me then do not decide upon any bike by looking out reviews on this site! Anyways, I wish a happy ride to you when you get a new bike. Ride safe! Cheers, Anand. p.s. my bike is 2 years old now and galli de chokre drool over it still! Its in perfect condition and people have tough time guessing her age, lol. Koi chhedta nahi hain par ;) man drool over hh as if it is honda because of its engine's life... and reliability unlike the ones in its compitetion have lost badly over the years... you just seem to love pulsar so much that you are biased here and are trying to hype its image thats all okie dude do what ever makes you happy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ha ah aha ah aaRead More

look firstly you dint mention the greatest drawback of pulsar 'ITS GEARBOX' It sort of starts getting stuck on a regular basis during the down shifts after the 10k kms marks.... if ridden rough the engine totalls at 20-25k kms marks and NO MATTER HOWMUCH EVER YOU SPEND THE BIKE CANNOT BE BROUGHT B...ACK TO THE SHOWROOM CONDOTION.... ON THE OTHER HAND the Zma or any honda even if ridden rough the engine lasts till atleast 40k kms mark....or more perhaps... and there are no issues with the gearbox of the hondas at all... now dont start supporting the pulsar by saying its an indigenous company and things like that just try and accept the facts... in the same way u put them forward in the first place... and for your info the pulsar180 beats Zma in 0-60 kmph and loses badly after that not the other way around. you get your facts right on this!!! see man basically i agree that pulsar is an awesome bike and i did expect Bajaj to put in some quality in the gearbox if not the engine's life for the riding pleasure just dissappears the moment the box stucks..... i had this bike in red and black alloys v2 and i did regret after a while because i planned to keep this bike for more than2 years and sold it in one coz the GB pissed me off real bad... now reply if you are really on the right side here....Read More

the speedo on unicorn has very high percentage of error when compared to pulsar, i agree with you about the power delivery being uniform, for it dons a CV carburrerator... the fact is when uni is doing 100 on speedo its in its mid 80s speed where as the pulsar is atleast like 94-95kmph in reality... check this out... also i would not suggest anyone to go for a pulsar for its lifespan is veryshort compared to uni and the gearing probs start as early say from 1year's usage... i am telling all this because i previously owned a pulsar and i am looking for a uni now for i simply love the feel for bike.... cheers...Read More

the mileage doesnt fall below 35kmpl unless u rip the trottle real bad like an headless horse... check it with the actual zma riders and then quote such figure on a public sites like this please. with decent trottle and steady shifts of gears with a speed of 50kmph the bike returns nothin less than ...35kmpl...Read More

i had a p180 v2 too but i got pissed off with its gearbox and sold it and now i am buying karizma, the only problem is that YOU NEED to be PREPARED to empty ur pockets for a bike of 200+cc just like people are prepared for bullet and thunderbird,so if you are looking for economy too then buy the ori...ginal cbz that should give you 40-45kmpl in city at a reasonably good driving and you enjoy the raw power too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHY DO YOU THINK 'CBZ' WAS SO DEGRADED WITH MILAGE? its was coz they provided TRIP-METER!!! which enabled every TOM DICK AND HARRY TO CHECK THE MOST PRECISE MILEAGE! at that time people were not used 150segment bikes and were unable to digest the mileage of 40-50km/l coz at that time hh was know...n for its mileage oriented cd100s and splendors 4-stroke bikes. People dint digest this and when Pulsar came in with a better mileage figure of 55+kml (when ridden accordingl ofcourse) the market was in its favour and with the intros of dtsi and other useless upgrades as i would call it for cetain obvious reasons..... SO SAD FOR CBZ BECAME XTINT.......... I THINK HONDA DINT WANNA TAKE THIS CHANCE FOR OUR PEOPLE MANY OF THEM ARE LAZY ENOUGH TO SEE THE XACT MILEAGE COZ ONE WOULD NEED TO NOT IT DOWN.....Read More

COZ THE THING IS ITS SO PAINFUL TO HEAR ALL THESE AND LIVE WITH BUYING THIS QUALITYLESS CRAP PIECE OF METAL!!!! ITS ALREADY ENOUGH THAT I HAVE EXPERIENCED AND I DONT WANNA DISCUSS IT ANY MORE FOR THE FACTS ABT THE BIKE REMAIN THE SAME AND WE ALL KNOW IT.... ALTHOUGH I AGREE THE COMETATORS H...AVE THEIR ANAMOLIES AND INHIBITIONS WHATEVER BUT NEVER HAS THERE BEEN ANY CASE FOR SUCH CHEAP GIMMICKS EVEN IN THE CASE OF MINIMUM SAFETY MEASURES AND THE BLOODY AIRFILTER THAT KILLS ENGINE AND PICKUP HUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND ABOUT THE OIL CHANGE FOR ANY OTHER BIKE ITS NOT NECESSARY TO CHANGE THE OIL SO OFTEN AS PULSAR!!! AND I DONT AGREE WITH 'Regarding your issues with wasting time to change oil, that is gonna happen regardless of which bike you chose in the first place. ' well delta, the thing is make it a... point to get the oil checked after the 1500kms mark it is totaled. I will tell you the reason for this “it goes like this , the bajaj morons have their brain’s in their ankles that’s the right reason. Coz check out the air filter of a pulsar and compare it with splendor’s or honda’s or a passion’s for that matter its just a thin layer of sponge , and the rest you will understand I got mine fitted with a better one for this I had to change the air filter box as a whole. THAT’S THE THING THAT INCREASES YOUR ENGINE LIFE DRASTICALLY THAN NORMAL PULSAR’S BLOODY LIFE. Often this fact is overlooked for if the engine is breathing almost raw air its naturally bound to have a very short life!!!!! And the oil is meant to get real dirty very soon and where is the question of 5k interval change…. When the bajaj is ready to play such cheap tricks to sell more man where does bajaj stand interms of quality. It does not deserve to be COMPARED TO HH OR KING ‘H’. FOR AFTER ALL EVERY ONE WOULD WANT A GOOD BIKE THAT HAS DECENT ENGINE LIFE!! Read More

IN the race for teh ultimate power/mileage/price combo, bajaj have indeed sacrificed a few things. It is all a compromise regardless of what bike you chose.??????? a few things i dont think so. i would say they compromised on the essential safety measures THAT HAPPENED TO EARN THE BIKE A BAD NAM...E TOO '''ACCIDENT PRONE BIKE'''. WELL ABOUT THE PARTS, even if they are higher priced BY HHOR HONDA it has life and reduces the headaching visits to mecanics. and i think that the cheap quality is avaliable if they are fake ones!!!!!! well the parts and spares like the rear brake connecting rod being stretched or being broken, the rear foot rests braking into twopieces when one has a fall, the first generation pulsar's or the 150p's disk that still is hard often causing accidents well HOW IN THE WORLD CAN YOU JUSTIFY BY JUST SAYING?????????? 'Btw teh spares for the pulsars and for that matter bajaj as a whole are a whole lot cheaper across the board. It also comes with lesser quality, which is mainly why theyre cheap. The CBZ for instance has rather expensive parts, which last longer. But even some of the HH and honda parts which are now available cheaper are crap quality as opposed to the original japan parts that were expensive but lasted longer. Its just two sides of the coin'. WHEN QUALITY IS BEING COMPROMISED WAY BELOW THE LEAST NORMAL LEVELS?????????????. ITS JUST ALL CHEAP SHIT!!!! THATS SHOWS WHAT THEY PLAN TO GIVE THE RIDERS!!! BY THE WAY CBZ IS EXTINCT (the old engine’s parts) SO HOW IN THE WORLD DO YOU EXPECT TO FIND THE ORIGINAL PARTS OF QUALITY? AND I WOULD BE GLAD IF YOU ARE MENTIONING A FEW PARTS IN COMPARISION AS I HAVE DONE!!!! AND I WANTED TO KNOW WHY THE HELL ISNT THE GEARING PROBLEM TAKEN CARE OFF AFTER SO MANY DAMNED UPGRADES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Read More

CONTINUED...... 7.in gettin the bike serviced from outside its a pain the a*^ to first complain abou the minor details of the bike which me such a chance, for example no matter howmany times the chain is tightned it gets loose and such proBLEMs so on and so forth....... 8.i know the oil change pe...riods for this bike i do get it changed for every1500kms with the 20 w50 castrol oil... and i know along with this the bike's general service needs be done too.... for the same minor attentions that thing gettin done every month is pain in my a*^ as i need to either ruin a sunday or take a day off...... this makes me feel like i bought a second hand suzuki or a yamaha with boring done that needs constant attention.... 10.about the noise, that noise was healthier very healthier initially as i assume u know the engine noise of p150 and p180 are both a lil different as p180's is smoother ( atleast initially) after the first run-in period i rode the bike and noticed the smooth machine gun firing sound with a silencer on it but after the 10000kms mark it had a added grunt noise......... and that wasnt frm day one......... so with all these diversions and misleading how can the life be maintained well for a normal guy....... also the maintance much much higher when compared to a cbz that what i think coz the money and time we spend on pulsar i think personally the 5kms lesser mileage for is fine................ which equals for the time and money on the bloody maintanence on second thoughts it forces me to think is this all a cheap trick to ensure the sales of the spares often boasted to be cheap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Read More

well if you know about the pulsar's engine in detail then i assume you also know about the service manual provided by bajaj people. 1.they only recommend the oil changes and general seviceing for every 5000kms. 2.the morons put in 20 w40 engine oil that is only recommended for 100cc bike (4-strok...e). the reason they give is the higher grade 20 w50 oil (avaliable in castrol, motul and other costlier brands that cost about 50% more than 20 w40 oils) is only necessary in the summer time when the temerature around touches skies. well if the engine is over revving one then how come they do not put on the higher grade 20 w50 oils in both the twins? second thing they convince the owners the periodic maintance recommended by them is sufficient and outrately say the oil being used is the right one such shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this stupid thing is done by the dealers even after its mentioned in the manual of p180 that only 20 w50grade or higher graded oil alone hould be used................. 3. there are hell alot of minor details in pulsar that need constant attention which is not taken by the bajaj service people... nor is it in their hands to correct them for the design and quality provided by bajaj is such which speaks for itself..... 4.if the bajaj does this then how is that the normal people who yet dont know the engine's need is so specific takecare of the bike........... 5.HOW THE HELL IN THE WORLD DO YOU EXPECT TO GET A PROPER ENGINE LIFE ASSUMIN THE INITIAL RUN IS DONE AS PER RULES?????? 6.FOR THESE REASONS MANY OF US GET THE JOBS DONE FROM A LOCAL MECANIC.. SO THAT WHAT EVER SERVECING IS DONE IS ENSURED IT IS DONE AS IT CAN ALSO BE SAID THAT BAJAJ GUYS SOMETIMES BLUFF THAT THEY HAVE CHANGED THE OIL AND THEY DONT THIS HAPPENED TO ME IN MY FIRST SERVICE OF 500KMS SERVECING AND I HAD TO GET THE OIL CHANGED FROM OUTSIDE AND THEN ON I SAID TO HELL WITH THE BIKE'S WARRANTY AND GOT IT SERVICED FROM OUTSIDE......Read More

see the earlier pulsar twins they werent all that high revving engine later on the engines were adjusted and sold by bajaj itself for low rew powerups may be that feel really good and awesome and all that initially and for sometime feel like you riding a racing bike but after the bike starts giving ...the gearshifts problem(usually after that problem and around 12k - 14Kkms done on it if averagely done 100kmkph 25-30% of the time, i mean even with the initial run-in period done.) the bike starts losing power no matter what ever is done doesnt feel any where near the new bike. NOW WHY SHOULD BAJAJ PLAN SUCH A STRATEGY FOR THE BIKE'S ENGINE AND SECONDLY MOST PULSARS DIE EARLY. THIS I WOULD BLAME ON THE WAY THE ENGINE IS SET BY DEFAULT BY BAJAJ.... ALSO LET ME TELL YOU MY BIKE P180 IF I GO BEYOND 50KMPH IT MAKES ME FEEL LIKE I AM REALLY PUSHING THE BIKE TOO HARD FOR THE RUN... ALTHOUGH ACCORDING TO ME THIS I DID NOT FEEL INITIALLY AFTER MY RUN-IN PERIOD THE BIKE HAD A HEALTHY SOUND THEN BUT NOW IT FEEL SO BAD... MAKES ME WANNA REGRET ABOUT MY CHOICE. I HOPE THE BIKE DOESNT DIE AT AROUND 20000 TO 25000KMS...............Read More
