hello there.

i am raj. I have been riding this stunnin handsome bike for a year(bought in oct 2005) now and I have done 12000kms on it and I believe my experiences will help you.I was in a dilemma to choose between cbz star, karizma, unicorn and pulsar 180cc (i opted out p150 for the disk breakes were not smooth enough for me). well eventually I fell in love with p180 for the studish and fearsome RED+BLACK looks.... I took a test drive and the bike clearly rocked roared like a fully grown LION.

...well for starters the ENGINE, this is a beautiful machine with 180cc that delivers awesome roaring power for the sprints. POSITIVE aspect:- the DTSi Engine delivers awesome power thats makes anyone who rides it take a moment to cherish the acceleration and the roar again and again and again and again aaaaaaaaah....its simply breath taking.....NEGATIVE aspect:- the bore life is very bad compared to all the other rivals herohonda bikes and honda bikes this is one thing that needs to be thought of as most of the pulsars the lastest dtsi versions wearout the engines much faster compared to the first lot released I mean the non dtsi versions THIS IS A FACT IN THE MARKET that is proved....it WENT LIKE THIS (most of bikes I mean) normal pulsar(70000 to 90000kms) -> pulsar dtsi (60000 to 70000kms)-> pulsar dtsi mag (40000 to 50000kms) -> pulsar dtsi mag black(yet to be determined) -> pulsar dtfi 250(yet to be determined)...Also the older dtsi without mags defeated karizmas, cbz and all the rivals in the 0 to 60 kmph fight but NEWER ONES COULDNOT REASON : They have increased the low end torque so for 0-60 new dtsi will beat dtsi-old and karizma by small margin but after that it loses badly. Top speed is in the range of 115 and takes ages to reach THIS CLEARLY SHOWS THE QUALITY HAS BEEN DEGRADING SADLY

......well the next thing is the POSITIVE ASPECT:-the chassis is ok its sturdy and good NEGATIVE ASPECT:-CHASSIS IT CLEARLY LACKS THE CENTER OF GRAVITY IT HAS BEEN MISPLACED SINCE THE BEGUINING AND WAS IMPROVISED JUST A LITTLE BIT THIS CHASSIS IS SIMPLY NOT RIGHT FOR THIS ENGINE. This can make u skid when taking sharp turns. If you pull the front discs while emergency braking u may topple over. I know an incident where one of my friend pulled the front brakes(he should have used both) and toppled over. THIS NEEDS TO BE LOOKED OVER AND NEEDS SERIOUS ATTENTION......

.......GEARBOX... WELL THERE IS ONLY NEGATIVE ASPECT TO IT AND NO POSITIVE ASPECT TO IT ASK A PULSAR OWNER 150/180 EVERY 7 OUT OF 10 WILL COMPLAIN ABOUT TRIPPING WHILE DOWNSHIFTS, NEUTRALING PROBLEMS, WEARING OUT CLUTCH PLATES. well I am talking about the people who use their machines EXTENSIVELY and not the ones who say do below 6000kms a YEAR. and I guess I am pretty sure the other three users so only below6000kms a year on their pulsars. this has been a major problem since the first normal pulsar was released.......REASON:The GEARS are hard, drive a honda or a herohonda and feel the difference.do the downshift and the bike drops down one gear or goes into neutral without any warning and this can definitely make you lose the drag, and sometimes evencontrol if u are not prepared not to mention the danger to yourself if any other speeding vehicle is close on your tail. PRETTY DANGEROUS....

........BIG PART HERE AND THE MOST AWESOME ONE TOO..........."MILEAGE" NOW THAT PUTS GRIN ON MY FACE............ IT HOWEVER HAS A VERYGOOD MILEAGE FOR A BIKE OF ITS CLASS…This has only a POSITIVE aspect it returns me 48kml in the city and 54kml on the highways with speeds of 60 to 70 kmph on highway.........

........well coming to the bike's electricals I was not delighted with the POOR HEAD LIGHT QUALITY that is VERY DISAPPOINTING IN THE DARK HIGHWAYS........ THE SELFSTART IS PUT VERY CLOSE TO THE FRONT WHERE ALL THE WATER, MUD SPLASHED BY IT SETTELES EXACTLY ON THE SELFSTART MOTOR WHICH IS THE WORST PART OF DESIGNING THE BIKE AND WATER SIMPLY GETS CLOGED IN WHERE AS IN THE HONDA DUOS IT IS PROVIDED DEHIND THE BORE HEADS OF THE BIKES WHICH IS MUCH SAFELY PLACED. THE MOST SUPRISING PART IS THEY PROVIDE A PARTIAL GUARD FOR THE MOTOR IN DISCOVER AND NOT IN PULSAR..... MY BATTERY GOT OUT OF ORDER IN JUST 6 MONTHS HOWEVER I GOT A REPLACEMENT FROM THE EXIDE PEOPLE AFTER RUNNING BEHIND THEM FOR TWO WEEKS WHICH IS REALLY OFFEL......THE BATTERY SELLER HIMSELF SAYS THAT A TYPICAL PULSAR BATTERY THAT IS USED FOR THE STARTING THE VEHICLE DAILY DOESNOT LAST FOR MORE THAN 15 MONTHS EVEN AFTER REGULAR SERVICEING GIVEN TO IT....THIS HAPPENS EVEN AFTER THE LESS WATTAGE BULBS PROVIDED BY THE COMPANY.....THIS IS NOT NOTICED MAJORLY BECAUSE IT GOES UNSEEN AS MANY PULASRS DO NOT HAVE A SELF START YET......IF THERE IS A LITTLE WEAKNESS IN THE BATTERY THAT WOULD BE CHARGED BY THE ENGINE AUTOMATICALLY THE SELFSTART MAKES A VERY UNHEALTHY GRUNT......THIS IS SELFSTART CANNOT BE USED IN THE RAINY SEASON WHILE RAINING AS THERE IS A HIGH POSSIBILITY OF IT RESTING IN PEACE ..

.. THE AIR FILTER THAT I FOUND IN PULSAR IS THE MOST DISAPPOINTING THING EVEN WHEN COMPARED TO A SPLENDOR'S ITS ROTTEN ONE. THIS IS A VERY BIG ISSUE FOR ITS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE BIKE'S BREATH TOBE PURE ENOUGH TO ENSURE LONGER ENGINE LIFE, LESSER OIL CHANGING FREQUENCIES, PICKUP AND WHAT NOT???

....COMFORT..well pulsar normal ones came with a big handle that was quiet convinient to mauver the vehicle then later on they shifted to the shorter handles that made the rider fell more pressure while driving for longer times although it has the sporty feel to it thats just for the initial hour of your ride then later on its not comfortable......They make a large CLANG sound on uneven roads\potholes. I never heard that on any other bike except the pulsars. The chain really goes loose after running say 750 kms, so it needs constant tightening.

...COMING TO THE STABILITY THE BIKE IS AWESOMELY STABLE BUT GETS BEATEN DOWN BY THE UNICORN'S STABILITY AND AGILITY EVEN IF UNICORN POSSESED A THINNER WHEEL BASE AND THIS HAS A BROADER.......sharper turns are bit more scary compared to the unicorn in stabilty and agility unicorn beats the asses of all the other bikes in the market............ for chassis design and the mono shock provided.......WELL ONE GOOD THING ABOUT THE P180 IS THAT THE DISCBREAK IS VERY AS SMOOTH AS UNICORN'S OR KARIZMA'S WHEN COMPARED TO P150 TWIN WHICH IS VERY BAD AND THE ZIGZAG MANUVERIBILITY IS BETTER IN THIS THAN IN 150 I WOULD SAY THIS IS A REFINED FORM OF 150CC FOR IT HAS FAIRLY APPRECIATABLE WORTHY STABILITY AND HANDLING AND A SMOOTHER ENGINE COMPARED TO ITS LITTEL TWIN.......
