The cost of the 2003 Ford Ikon 1.6 was 2.3 lacs. But I bought the 2002 Hyundai Accent GLX for 2.75 lacs instead. This was in July 2007. After that in February 2008, I had to spend around INR 60000 for engine work at Sreenath Hyundai as the engine siezed.

This is to share our experiences with a restaurant that does well in most areas and would have remained one of our favorites had it not been for the insensitive attitude of the management. Yes...I too have heard bad things about popular. But did not know any other good second hand car dealers. And besides...at least the Popular cars all looked their age. My advice is avoid second hand cars in Mumbai. Unless it is directly from the principal like Maruti or Hyundai who have their ow...n used car network.Read More

Hey amateurabe, It was not the price that attracted me, but the car itself. Sad thing is that I realized he had swapped the parts from the original test car before delivery. And just for the record, he was trying more hard to spoon off a Ford Ikon 1.6ZXI for 2.3 lacs and was recommending it ...over the accent. Glad I did not fall for that trap....Fords are more expensive to repair than Hyundai...Read More

On making the decision to go in for a second hand car in Mumbai, I looked about for a good dealer. Finally settled on Popular Car bazar in Andheri. Was not too convinced of the choices they provided. It was about 23K for a classic room. I believe the deluxe was cheaper. VFM was ok as far as the serenity and food was concerned. If a clean beach is a priority...try elsewhere...coz as I said...the sand is rough and the beached tanker is an eyesore

Hi Sushant, Brilliant review man. I agree with you that the roads of india re not meant for racing. With regard to stability and smoothness, the karizma definitely scores over the pulsar. The same goes for top speed. No way that any of the pulsars could beat the karizma in stop speed and sustain... stability. The only point where I would have to disagree with you is in the acceleration of the ZMA against the 180 V2. Up until about 80kph, the ZMA lags behind. Till date, I've not lost to a ZMA except in top speed. But then Mumbai roads are not ideal for racing at top speeds with the many potholes. Traffic light drags are just for fun and I indulge only if there is no risk involved. Loved ur review man. But do try a drag to 80 against a 180 V2 with an experienced rider and do let us know. Ride safe.... Cheers!!!Read More

Greetings Arjun, Just went through ur review and must say that you have been really forthcoming on the true capabilities of the 180. To be honest, I have never been keen on testing my 180 V2 on top speed for 2 reasons. One is that I weight over 100kg. Second, mumbai does not give me that many places... [read pothole free] to try out my top speed. Besides, at top speed, I am too busy watching the road to see the rpm meter. Besides, I am sure that your V1 would have a higher top end. I agree that the 180 loses out to the Karizma and RD350 in terms of top speed. But as far as drags are concerned, my V2 has never lost to a Karizma till date until about 80kmph. But yes, RD350 does smoke the Pulsar on all fronts...acceleration as well as top speed. Loved ur review man. Do keep on writing and drive safe. Cheers!!!Read More
