Incidentally reading my own review after a long time :) APC stands for American Power Corporation.
I have been using the same battery for 7 years now in the Inverter and still going good (touch wood). All I have done so far is to regulary top up with distilled water whenever the level falls to min...imum. I never called anyone for service even once after purchasing the inverter.Read More

We have been using this refridgerator for the last 18 years and touch wood, it has been absolutely a sturdy model with zero maintenance

It is time to update on the APC (Schneider Electric) service aspect
At the time of purchase, they mentioned that there will be 4 free services for the 1st Year. I need to call and they will come.
I didn't have the need to call for the first 9 months. Then I decided to call them on December ...2014 to top up the Battery level. It has been 2 months now and I have called them atleast 8 times and evertime I get a standard reply that they will come. No body has come so far from APC.
I can now confirm that APC service (Schneider Electric) support in Bangalore is very poor. They are not responsive and have not sent anyone to top up the battery level.Read More

I have narrowed down to two choices. Either an LG Direct drive or Bosch 7 KG WAE20261IN (only thing is this doesn't have direct drive).
If you can update the LG model number you bought, it will be very useful.

A very useful review indeed ! especially because you have taken the pain to keep updating your review and keeping it current.
I felt like commenting because we have the exact WD-1050F LG Intellowasher 7 KG machine. Bought in Oct 2000 and it has run for 14 years now ! and is unfortunately stopped ...and thats the reason, I was just trying to google whether to continue with this machine or buy a new one.
Let me give a brief history throught the 14 years.
1. Machine ran absolutely fine for 5 years, not a single issue.
2. Year 6, there was an issue with the front door switch, exactly your problem!
The technician told to replace the switch, but i opened the switch myself and bypassed the connection inside and solved the issue :)
3. Year 7, the belt had issues and had to replace it. After that it ran fine for 6 more years until 2013.
4. Year 13, the machine body was weak and rusted. Spent 7.5 K and got the panels sorted and machine now after 10 months, the drum has stopped rotating because one of the chip in the circuit board has gone kaput.
The machine is still in an excellent condition. Even the technician confirmed that these original machines are very good and run fault free for many years unlike the recent models from LG and all which are delicate and spoil in 3 years.
I'm wondering on the next course of action.
1. Sell the machine as is on OLX/Quicker as it is, honestly tell the buyer that all he needs to replace is the board for Rs 4500 and he can use it just fine. I'm tempted to do this just to buy a new machine and enjoy the newness :)
2. Fix the machine myself and continue using it, i'm sure it will run for atleast 6 to 7 years or even more.Read More

The Honda city V and VX variants come with front and rear defoggers which are effective in clearing any mist formation during rains.

The Diesel engine used is the same engine released in Europe in 2011. Only the bore stroke has been reduced a bit to bring the engine capacity to 1.5 Litre for Indian govt excise benefits. So its not an experimental engine and is a tried and tested engine.

I bought it from Magnett Technologies, rates are posted at their website. You can google the same.
Only maintenance (touch wood) is to check the level of distilled water in the battery which I've done myself after a couple of months. The battery has transparent caps with floating level indicators... so its easy to see the distilled water level. I believe there are free services for the first year from APC but i'll call them topping up the water if it goes down in future.Read More

I enjoyed reading your practical and very useful review. Earlier I used to look upon Estilo as something unsightly( with no offence to anyone).
I guess a lot of my earlier perception had got to do with the way Maruti wrongly associated it with the previous model ZEN and tagged it Zen Estilo. T...he previous Zen was a totally different and highly regarded drivers car (though outdated now) and had its own unique character.
The Estilo was a totally different car (in a positive sense; it was/is actually called the MR Wagon in Japan designed on the same Tall boy lines as the Wagon R) and did not share the character of the old Zen and Maruti made a mistake of associating the old Zen tag with the new Estilo.
Especially after the facelift of the Estilo and as I’m seeing more and more cars on the road and hearing more about its virtues and positives from the real owners, I’m beginning to appreciate the Estilo car more and more, especially with its K-series engine.
I sincerely hope that Maruti become the trendsetter among the small cars manufacturers by offering atleast ABS as an option for all the ranges(LX, LXi, VXi) in a particular model.
ABS is something that will be the difference between steering to safety OR sliding out of control while braking on a slippery road.

The scenario that you described regarding your question and the service advisors response is hilarious :) I couldn’t control my laughter.
I would say that the ground clearance issue is something Honda needs to take care atleast i...n their future releases especially for India. There are huge humps (speed mountains ) just about everywhere. Ground clearance is the most important issue that needs to be addressed !!!

If you have a Wireless Broadband connection for your PC at home, you can connect your Blackberry 8520 to the Wifi Broadband and browze at decent speeds. So atleast while at home, you can use Broadband WiFi.
Also you can download and install a third party application like Logicmail and and access y...our email using IMAP on your blackberry.
Only downside to the WiFi approach is: you need to be in the WiFi network range like at home or hopefully Airports/hotels.
Otherwise I guess BIS is the way to go. How much does Airtel charge for BIS services. I was under the impression that they charge a flat rate irrespective of the usage.

over the years, I'm more and more convinced that Maruti is just taking advantage of its 'better service' image in the Indian Market and are giving sub-standard products.
I was in the car during test drive of dezire and felt it had drab plasticky material on the door and very dark inside, nothing ...seemed to be good other than the diesel engine.
These days you can buy any car from any manufacturer without any worries of service etc.. modern cars will not give any problem for many years.Read More

Its really sad that you had to go through such an ordeal, my sympathies are with you.
Its strange that your car rusted so soon. Fiat had offered
Galvanized body with rubberized underbody rust protection in 2002.
normally seen in more expensive cars. Fiat had also offered a 5 year anti ru...st and anti perforation warranty in 2002 for Palio.
I can't think of any other manufacturer in india who have offered such a long warranty for anti corrosion.
Also its surprising that so many parts failed in your car. Really
unlucky piece. Were you given some badly abused demo car I wonder?? I know many friends who can vouch for the quality
and reliability of the original Palio spares including my personal experience as well.
Palio needs to be serviced by good technicians who really know the in and out of this car and know what they are doing, otherwise its really easy to mess up this car.
I've seen that people who after getting aftermarket fitments like central locking systems, music systems etc from local shops outside ended up messing the cars electricals.
From a personal experience, TVS Sundaram in Bangalore used to service palio well. They were dependable (ignoring their arrogance), its sad that they have stopped accepting Palio for service after the dealership has moved to Tata.Read More
