I always knew and told people Verna (petrol) is a better car than SX4 but in India people go more for looks and ignore the technical aspects. Verna looks are something which grows on you but once you are behind the wheel and drive the two vehicles you can easily know which is a superior car. There i...s no comparison, Verna’s engine is far superior to SX4 and now it is no secret that SX4 is replacing the engine completely and going for new one. They are fooling the world by saying it upgrade from Bharat Stage 3 to 4. Well in that case you don’t stop production for 6-8 weeks, it is just catalytic convertor and slight changes in fuel injection which needs changes. Present engine of SX4 lacks power (although it is 103 bhp), lacks performance (noisy) and not fuel efficient (10kmpl). Suzuki is selling SX4 in other countries like Thailand, Indonesia, middle-east there the sale in less than 500 units per month vis-?-vis 2,000 plus of Verna. India is the only market where SX4 was selling in big numbers initially. Verna petrol has always been steady with 1,100-1,500 units per month with 3,000 as overall sale (incl diesel). Back seat of SX4 is very uncomfortable on a long ride (bumpy) due to high body roll n high stance. On top of that it cannot accommodate more than 2 people in rear, it is basically 4 seater car – hopefully they will rectify this in new version. Whereas in Verna 3 persons can comfortably sit in rear. I used to laugh when people used to say 15kmpl in city drive SX4 gives, not even Honda city (14kmp) gives that much. Verna after my third service has been consistently giving 11.5-12.5 kmpl in city and around 16kmpl on highways which is fair enough but actual mileage of SX4 and also confirmed by Maruti workshop team is 10-11kmpl and 14kmpl on highways. These are few of the facts but I feel sorry for SX4 owners who have recently bought as resale is going to drop like crazy once new upgraded version hits the market which is expected to be 25-40K expensive.Read More

RumEo...I like your confidence. Even Maruti Suzuki website says their market share as of March was less than 50% and they plan to retain 50%, you look like a cheap sales person to me providing wrong info to customers. Actual share is 44%-45% whereas Hyundai 22% and increasing. No doubt MUL is more b...ut they have 1,000 dealers compared to 250 of Hyundai, MUL has 20+ varients/models compared to 8 from Hyundai. So I think you need to know 'rocket science' to do right calculations. Happy Driving :-) http://www.marutisuzuki.com/Maruti-charts-plan-to-retain-its-50-market-share.aspxRead More

You guys are correct Hyundai make the worst cars, bad dealership, fake reviews etc. But can you please explain even after so many problems HYUNDAI MARKET SHARE IS INCREASING (In India) BY 4%-5% y-o-y AND MARUTI-SUZUKI MARKET SHARE DECREASING BY 5%-6% y-o-y. As usual NO ANSWER - so u don't need a roc...ket scientist to tell u which is better car with best dealership network, competitively priced spares & pro-active after sales support.Read More

You are a good dreamer. Even showroom (sales guys like you) claim 11kmpl in city and supervisors in authorized Maruti workshop say anywhere btw 9-10 few claim 11kmpl. Man you must be driving on CNG or water don’t give wrong stats to people who depend on this forum to put their hard earned money. SX4... doesn’t give 15 even on highways max is 13-14. You must inform Maruti about this 8th wonder. This again proves you are giving wrong info. Back seat comfort – go on the highway out of 10 sedans on road 4 are Verna, 3 Fiesta, reaming btw Honda city & SX4. Back seat very uncomfortable for long drive due to higher seating and less space (good for 2 though, that’s it). I regularly drive Delhi-Chandigarh and Pune-Bombay…..crush SX4 like ants. By the way talk about yourself not about some third person “My Friend” who doesn’t exist. I can give you 10 real life examples who have thrown Maruti products within one year of purchase due to poor quality. Want to see more - do a Google search of SX4 resale you will find the first SX4 had hit the resale circuit within 45 days of launch in June 2007. Similarly do for Verna you will find 11th month. That tells you about quality of two brands.Read More

I don’t blame you for your poor Maths as 2,000 seems 1,000 to you. And by the way SX4 is nowhere near 1,000 mark it is in the range of 700-800 per month. On the other hand Verna diesel sale is definitely more than Petrol in 60:40 ratio just due to the fact there are more options available in petrol.... It seems like a Joke when Maruti sales people like you talk about quality. If Maruti stands for quality why is it’s annual sales dropping & Hyundai’s increasing. Why SX4 is selling 700-800 and not more, why SX4 is offering Rs. 45K discount, why it is giving 9-10kmpl mileage, heavy price to pay for a four seater car etc. As expected you have no answer….that’s becoz Maruti don’t understand word Quality but make cheap cars for masses (becomes rattling music boxes after 1-2 yrs) not for quality conscious customers.Read More

Hur Hur Rome-yoo, if you read the same article of Dec 2008 Accent was being exported to African and few South Asian countries which has come down to practically zero by Nov 2008 due to global slow down. In domestic market Accent sale is not more than 200-300 units per month. (as per SIAM figures). S...o your calculations are all wrong....this makes SX4 lagging behind Verna by 400-500 units per month. Don't get excited son...drive safely :-). What if u bought a Suzuki Junk. Maruti market share has been falling 5-6% every year due to poor quality of their products. Other hand Hyundai share has been going up by 5-6% pa due to better product quality, even after they are selling over-priced cars (as per you). On this very forum people are complaining about SX4 internal noise, mileage issues, gear-box problem etc. after driving for 1+ yr. If you plan to keep the care for one yr then it is fine but more then it is not value for money in long run....Maruti products become Junk after 2-3 yrs. Hyundai is 5th largest car manufacturer in the world, Suzuki not even in top 12. Hyundai sold nearly half-million cars in US last yr compared to 95K of Suzuki. For Suzuki India is the largest market.Read More

Don't get over excited Romeo Uhhh?? If you read the latest SIAM analysis 85% sales are of DEZIRE not SX4....SX4 still struggling to match Verna numbers. Dezire one can compare to Accent but Accent is 10 yrs old model so everyone goes for new stuff. SX4 has 45K discount, Verna 20K and Dezire zero. Ev...en if you see Jan 2009 figures Verna sales are ahead by 600+ units compared to SX4. I think your basics are wrong how can you compare 1.3L engine (Swift converted) car with 1.6L engine car. This again proves that DEZIRE is better car than SX4....am I right dude :-)Read More
