I agree.. i too drive the new Ford Fiesta SXi since august 08 & its a wonderful experience since then... the mileage is good and i guess it will improve even more over time as i reach 7k kms 9curently 3.8k)....its comfy and i love the feel while driving... the best part of the fiesta is the driving ...ability, it's so easy to maneuver that i feel I am driving a small martuti 800 sized car... i have driven the 800 and palio over this 11 years & this car makes me feel very easy to drive than the earlier two in city traffic... i hope i am not going over the top to make this statement but i feel i began to enjoy traffic jams ever since i started driving ths car... i love the company fitted car deck with 6 speakers.. wow u gotta hear the sound quality to believe it i don’t think u will need a sub woofer or any such thing since the quality of music is sharp and crystal clear.. and then the AC is very powerful... and the best is when u take the car on high speeds... i proved the driving dynamics of this car to my friends and i guess every reader should also try this.. drive the fiesta with ABS (SXi or S) to more than 80klms and then turn the steering on any side u will notice that the passengers will hardly move to their sides.. try this on other cars and u will know the difference.. also try braking the car when u have reached 100kms and see.. These are things which one has to experience and you will not find them in the fact sheets of any cars... i tried all of this during my test drives on the SX4, CIty & Verna and then went in for the Fiesta.. another good thing i would like to share is that about two months ago i happened to climb a steel hill on my way up towards INS shivaji - Lonawala and guess what i go go through all of those hair pin bends on 2nd and 3rd gear with full AC on and no sign of pull or pressure on the engine.. you could try doing this yourself. guys who drive on their own should not even think twice while driving this car.. Dear Friend.. i own a fiesta and trust me its the best buy in that segment.... Do not go by on paper technical feature comparisions of cars.... things like Balance, Grip, Comfort, driving experience and safety features comes best only with cars who have mastered it and ford is the first to be i...n this business... go for the 4 year warranty and enjoy your peace of mind drive every day.. do not worry about expensive spares so much... if u like to drive go for the fiesta..Read More

Dear So called car lover... let me tell u that maruti ALto sells much more than ur verna.. or let me say that Tata Indigo sells more than ur verna .... sorry to say that verna is struggling to cross their mark... so does that mean that ur verna is bad??/ let me tell u why i went in for a fiest...a... 1- when i brake on a wet surface which i did during these rains i had no fear since my car had total grip due to its fab ABS with EBD.. i guess ur verna too have ABS but no EBD... anyways one has to pay a huge amount to get the ABS supersing... also it dosnt even have air bags yar... come on... u get only one chance in life and God forbid if one meets wth an accident after driving a 1.6 engine car without airbags who knows what will happen... its like driving a fast bike without helmet.. there are many safety features in a fiesta like auto fuel stopper in case of an accident, side impact bars... auto unlocking of doors in case of an impact.. etc i value my life and since i did not have the budget to go in for a scoda or any big vechicle i went in for a ford irrespective of the sales figures which i dont even care about... i do not treat this as an investment i treat this as an luxury item and even if I were to be the only one driving a car which i feel is safe and good for me i would do it... afterall i am not amongst those who wear the same colour of cloths or eat the same food which masses do.. i have a mind of my own, a ego of my own and appreciate comfort and safety... so by plastering the sales figures everytime does not mean that ur driving the best and safest car... now that u have already invested in the verna i can understand that ur pacifying urself that its a good car.. it may be.. but a bit of advice is that since ur car though it may be good its not safe to drive at high speeds so take care while u drive.... and drive slowely... Dear Sahil i changed my mind and went in for the SXI model which has all the same features of the 'S' plus u get the arm rest and adjustable headrest for the rear seats thus making it comfortable if u r 2 at the rear... and as far as milage is concerned its gr8 for mumbai roads.. this is my second f...ill and its already giving me 9.5Kmpl..my path to work and back is quite conguested and i usualy have to drive on 1st, 2nd or 3rd gear and few streaches on 4th & 5th gear..and yet its giving me 9.5 with AC on..i expect the milage to increase much more after the 1st service as of now i am pleased with 9.5... i think its increadable for a veichle of 1.6 engine to deliver such milage.. i have yet to experience it on a long highway drive and i am sure it will double what i am geting now... and yes i do agree that the deck is awersome.. and so is the DTE feature... go for it dude its the best VFM car u can get.... but do consider the sxi verson too..Read More

Dear new fiesta prospective buyers and existing fiesta owners.... Well i just got delivery of the Fiesta SXi model on the 12th of Aug... I have been driving a 4 wheeler for 11 years and this is my 3rd car and trust me this one is a sexy peice... its quite comfy and has a very good fit & finish... no... engine noise only a sporty sound when u rev up the engine... gear shif is too smooth especially the 2nd gear which is where other cars have a problem....i suddenly began to feel that the roads are good since it irons out the small unevenness of mumbai roads... the incabin silence is not as good as one can hear some outside noise... the sound system is something u have to hear it ur self cant explain how good and clear it sounds... however let me try and say its the closest to a ipod experience the diffence is you dont have any ear plugs plugged in ur ears.. every detail of the music is damn clear... the car has so many features that its taking me time to understand one-by -one... one should even try out the wiper speeds (6 different variable timings with 3 modes) its awersome.... the car is designed in such a manner that u feel at easy at the wheel within minutes of driving it... the visiblity is the best in its class...i am anxiously waiting to drive to Goa on the ghats... if u want to enjy driving buy this car..if u want to just reach ur destination buy any another car.. and if u want to save money and think of resale value etc etc by compromising on comfort and driving exprience buy a maruti....well i will keep u guys posted on more updates as time passes...Read More

HI Mohan, I am getting 1.2L for my palio ...I heard that the new Scrop is coming with some fantastic features like cruse control.. I wud suggest if u like SUVs then go in for that... my bro too has a older verson of scrpio and he loves it every bit.. its easy to maintain too..i suppose u will not b...e able to take ur SX4 to the jungles.. its tin work may not be good for that... as in the scrpio it has that huge plastic skirts that wud protect it from any acratches and dents.... Tuscan is a fab car.. but i guess it must be too exp too... anyways i knw its a tough call for u.... Read More

Hi Amol...I test drove the SX4 and found its shockups good... the feel is of driving a suv and so u will not get that feel like u had in ur ikon... u would be sitting much higher unlike any ford vehicles... however its something u will get used to over time and may even love it over time... ikon bei...ng smaller in size may give u more control to maneuver.. but the scene changes as u get into this segment with big sized cars which are more broad and longer... the clutch in the icon is hydraulic but the sx4 has the conventional cable type so the only problem u will face is u may have to do constant setting over months of the same unlike the hydraulic ones which need not be attended for 1 lakh kms... a few plastic issues and visibility issues while reversing the car and Turing at a blind spot due to 'A' Pillar... other wise the car is fabulous and if these small issues can be ignored then go for it since it has got the visual appeal on the roads.. Besides if u r a criminal u can even store dead bodies in the boot, since it has such a huge boot space.... just kidding huh!! no offence to any1 i hope...Go for it if u like it... all the best..Read More

Hi, Did u try the Ford Fiesta SXi ??? trust me it dosnt have the servce backup like maruti but its a fantastic car... it has all the safety features that a person wants and more importantly its more tough than the sx4... u will for sure experience plastic noise from the sx4 in the long run... Maruti...'s are good for those who havnt diven a european or American car... forget the resale bit and enjoy the time you will spend in the car and for the driving pleasure these korean or japanese cars dont have it in them... in that case the fiesta is the best choice... for 8.5 u get it all man trust me!! anyways if u have already got ur sx4.. dont worry its not all that bad as I made it sound... so chill and enjoy.... afterall one has to enjoy driving a car or else the Black & yellow taxis are anyways there to reach u to your destination....so enjoy.. byeRead More

HI I truly agree with you... even I drive a palio & for the last 6 years its made me feel very safe every time i go for a long drive.... you will not believe me that the car is so flawless that when u drive it or even see it people think its just a 3 or 4 year old car... Fiat rocks ...

I test drove the SX4 and hated the clutch..i am surprised how Maruti after so many years have not yet come up with Hydrolic clutch... the test drive viechle had good shock'bs but i hated the clutch and the plastics.. the plastic interiors was making so much noise during the test drive... the seats a...re good but somhow i am totaly disappointed with it... I may be worng but after driving my palio for 6 years I am too used to the responsive hydrolic clutch pad and cant possibly be going back in technology... sorry guys if i hurt anyones sentiments..but this car is out of my list... waiting for the Linea .... buy guys enjoy driving...Read More

Guys dont go by sales figures alone.... did anyone of u drive the ford fiesta.... i test drove the sx4, verna and the fiesta & trust me there is no comparison.. the fiesta is the best to drive at any speeds... and i guess it delevers the best milage too .... after driving the sx4 I felt like i was s...itting in a boat which rocks... verna is good and silent but have less stabality above 100km/hrs and some other defects like wheel alignment problems, even my test car was not alligned and that was a putoff... though i liked the space inside the verna these other issues got me... After driving a palio for 6 years i am not 100% satisfied with any of these 3 cars and may wait for the Fiat Linea or else if its priced too high then would settle for a fiesta.... unless someone proves me worng on the verna... enjoy driving.... if a car buying decission had to be taken on sales figures then there would be no other car except alto's/santro's on the road. Cheers!!Read More

Dear Friend.. impressive review abt the verna.. I too plan to either buy a fiesta zxi or Sx4 or a verna xi model but can't decide till now.. i test drove all of them and found the incabin noise comparativly less compared to the rest...also i found it quite spacious compared to others since i am 6.3f...t tall... but i am not sure about the milage in bumper to bumper traffic and its stability on highway curves i heard that the car bends on the side when driven on curves...since i drive quite often to Goa i need to condider the curve stability issue... i am also not too aware of the maintainance costs, and most importantly the spares costs, how r they in comparision to fiesta and sx4..... and how much did u say did ur verna XI cost u?? did it come with a 2 din stereo??? if i get it fr the rate u told me then boy i will jump in for it just now... do reply addressing all my concerns... thanks and happy driving..Read More
