Very sorry to hear about your bad experience with Speed Post. This sort of thing wouldn't happen if postal employees were made more accountable, but I guess that won't ever happen. Not in our country, at least.

First, thanks to all who read this review and commented on it. A few days ago, Nokia released the Symbian Anna update for some of its smartphones, including the N8. It was a rather large download, but well worth the time and bandwidth. The interface now has a fresh, new look, and there are some new ...applications such as Internet Radio, which I really like, and the Shazam Music Recognition software, which is very useful. The camera application has also been upgraded to make it more efficient. However, there's still no FM recording or user setting for the music equalizer, and the built-in dictionary still sucks. This phone was originally a very good one, and this update has made it even better. I hope Nokia will release further updates to this and other phones based upon customer feedback.Read More

Great review, Wheelie. This is just the kind of thing that puts off prospective customers. I suppose it's asking too much to expect government employees to change their ways!

This response will probably be useless to rajsatya as it is rather late, but others who face the same problem may benefit from it. Heat could be caused by deficient lubrication, jammed wheels, wrong tyre pressure or excess idling speed, as mentioned by ajay20101985. In such a case, the best thing to... do would be to drain the engine oil completely (no matter how fresh it is) and replace it with good quality oil, such as Honda’s own engine oil. The next step would be to check if both wheels are turning freely, without any resistance when the bike is stationary and in neutral. It could be that the brake is somehow jamming the wheels even if it is not applied, or that there is something wrong with the bearings. These steps sound silly and too simple, but they often do the trick. Tyre pressure should then be checked with one’s own pressure gauge, and finally, the idling speed should be checked. My Unicorn idles at a little above 1000 rpm when cold. One last piece of advice; do not depend upon the service centre to do all these jobs. Get them done at some dependable garage, but under your own supervision. The quality of the job will probably be better than that of the service centre. I am speaking from experience.Read More

Really surprised and sad to hear about your bad experience with the Bhubaneswar Motorola Service Centre. My son has a Motorola L9, and he dropped it, after which the display died. As I had to go to Bhubaneswar on some official work, I took the phone to the Redington Service Centre at Station Square ...(this was in April or May 2010). It took the service personnel ten minutes to deduce that the display was damaged, and another fifteen minutes to replace it with a new display. All the work was done in my presence, and I have never seen work done so dextrously. All the staff were courteous, professional and well behaved. I paid Rs 1900 for the job, but it was well worth it as my son is very fond of the phone. The only complaint I had was that the service centre was hard to find as there were no Motorola hoardings or signboards outside. Sorry to learn that this service centre has stopped servicing Motorola products.Read More

Despite the negative reviews given to the Nokia N8 at its launch because it had an ‘outdated’ OS (Symbian^3), I went ahead and spent my hard earned money on one in March 2011, and have never regretted doing so. I suppose you can fit a luggage box on to the Unicorn, but I wouldn’t advise it, and neither does the instruction manual. It’ll spoil the looks, make the pillion rider uncomfortable and also spoil the trim of the bike. As regards the waiting period, well, I had to wait for ten days (maybe I was luck...y). However, my dealer told me recently that Honda’s set up another manufacturing plant in India and doubled the production, so the waiting lists aren’t so long any more. An eight-month waiting period in this day and age isn’t acceptable, but waiting for up to a month is certainly worth it.Read More

viru_vru's advice to drive at 55 kmph brought down the fuel consumption down considerably. Although I haven't actually measured the mileage, I know it's gone up from the fewer number of times I have to visit the fuel pump. Thanks, viru_vru! However, it's pretty hard to keep at a sedate 55 kmph on a ...bike that begs to be driven fast, and what makes it harder is the knowledge that it'll take only a gentle twist on the accelerator grip for the bike to surge ahead! As regards anirudh51's query, I have been a pillion rider quite a few times on my bike and have never slid onto the rider when the brakes are applied. Maybe this was a problem with the older models and it was rectified subsequently. However, the best way to be sure is to check it out personally. BTW, my meter console and rear brake switch were replaced.Read More
