Please do not bother with Indica/Indigo/Indigo Marina if you looking for refinement and smoothness. Go for Maruti/Hyundai/Ford/Toyota/Honda etc.

I visited the same guy a few weeks back to test drive the verna. Although I hve no plan of buying a car now, I went to see it nevertheless. The same guy told me that they do not have the top version around to test drive. But now that you have written this review I shall be more careful.

That 25kmpl even for a diesel is mind blowing. The Fiesta you drive is giving the Honda Jazz a run for its money.

I cant understand how a new car gives close to 18kms in highway conditions. Our highways are not that great.

I think most car mags take money from the manufacturers to prop up their sales. Thats why BS motoring had given the TATA safari the thumbs up. How many safaris are on the road is evident to everyone.
Secondly, I dont think Korean or Japanese products are bad. Its just about how they are ...branded and what the company wants their target audience to be. Due to this Maruti has become a mass producer and caters to people who would want to shift from a motorcycle to a car. On the other hand Hyundai positions itself to be a fairly upmarket producer. It fills the gap between Maruti and Honda perfectly.
So, this perception that the Koreans are selling crap does not hold true. If it did, they would not be the second largest car producer in India in the space of just 6-7 years. What Maruti achieved in 25 years, Hyundai has done in half the time. Besides, our own public own Korean appliances by the bucketloads. Samsung, LG etc are huge brands in India now. But how many people buy or see a Sony showroom today.

I have a Getz GLS too and I am not disappointed. I wanted to wait for a Swift but really din t have the time as my 11 year old 800 was not in the best of shape. But I wish the car would have been cheaper or had more features than it currently has. On the other hand, I feel it was peace of mind buyin...g the Getz GLS as its quality is way better than the Swift. I know a Swift owner who had to get his door handle replaced because his kid pulled it too hard.Read More

To your surprise even the Getz takes 3 weeks to deliver. Hyundai dealers will tell you that they are having a steady demand of around 1500-2000 a month which they were nort expecting. They say that initially they only planned to sell between 8-10k Getz in India. So, after all it might be wort...h waiting for the Swift.Read More

I can understand how it feels waiting for a car and then finding out that you are not going to get it. I have a friend with a similar experience. Hes going for another car. Anyways just keep up the pressure on them. They may relent.

good review. this was better than the Swift one. I have never had such a big car but i guess its thrilling to have one of these SUV's.

I can understand your frustration. Paying 50k but not knowing when they will deliver. I own a Getz GLS and trust me you wont be disappointed.

Nearly all new cars dont give good efficiency in the first few thousand km's. After that there is a gradual increase in FE. I guess the Swift is the same. Since the engine is the same as the esteem you should expect between 9-12 later on. More than that in city limts would be asking for to...o much.Read More

Just because I own the Getz does not mean I am badmouthing the Swift. What I found bad with it, I mentioned it so that likeminded people are not fooled by that ugly frog. Similarly what I found bad with the Getz is also mentioned in my Getz review which you have read. Please dont talk of maturity as... you have been unable to analyse the 2 reviews I wrote independently. In neither of them did I compare the two cars. In the Getz one, I wrote of the Getz and the Swift one had what I thought about the Swift. So kindly, you be mature and stop behaving like a child.Read More
