Are you at 'home' with 'Office'? Microsoft Office 2000
Hi Preethven, Having used office for many years now and having just upgraded to Office 2007 Professional I can honestly say that I am very happy with all aspects of Microsoft's product. I do however rate Serif for Page Planning and for page setting as well as Serif Photoplus for the most useful ph...oto correction and use in my Magazine production. ScorpioRead More

SRK v/s Aamir : Fake Identity Crisis Aamir Khan
Amrita, I go along with everything that you say, not that I rate or do not rate Aamir, but your review was given with the usual honesty and punch. In fact, no punches witheld. Go Girl, you are definitely back with a vengeance. Scorpio.

THE NILGIRI HILL TRAIN Ooty
What a waste of time. You travelled through one of the greatest countries on earth, moaned about the difficulty of just getting on the train and then, nothing about the scenery en route or the arrival in Ooty, presumably you did arrive in Ooty. Where is the review of Ooty. You can put down your f...ellow countrymen all you like, that is your privilege - they may find you and rebuke you, that is what you deserve. Do not waste peoples time with such puerile rubbish.Read More

Ooty is great BUT Beware of George Hawks travel Ooty
I was hoping that I was about to read a review about Ooty! It is such a long time since last I was there - read my review as well as about Conoor; I was dissappointed at first but then realized the purpose of the review - Good of you to warn the unwary about this firm of taxis. They should be pu...shed over the side of the hills. Les (Scorpio)Read More

Reviewed Advertisements in Newspapers
Don't believe everything you read
(Updated Jun 10, 2003 01:22 AM)
Having spent some years working for a local, weekly, newspaper and, during that time, sold advertising space to both business houses and to members of the public I can truly say that you should not believe everything that you read in advertising media. Most advertisers are as honest as they c...Read more
Reviewed Saga Magazine
The best of the bunch.
(Updated Jun 10, 2003 12:59 AM)
I very seldom buy magazines, except that is for those dealing with computing - you could say that what I spend on those precludes me from allowing my budget to buy other. However, I do buy the Saga Magazine. One day, two years ago, a Saga Magazine dropped through my letter box, quite a wei...Read more

Not Just For The Oldies Saga Magazine
I agree with everything that the reviewer writes but feel that they have not gone far enough. I realise that one feels limited by how much people will read but Saga Magazine, in my opinion, is a very good read indeed. You start with short, pithy stories by well known writers who always have a diff...erent theme each month and this leads you into the maid meat of the magazine which, throughout its many pages, informs all and sundry with a wealth of facts that you do not find in other, coffee table publictions. Good luck in your5future writing and thank you for your comments on this magazine. Les (Scorpio)Read More

THE ISLAND OF THE KNIGHTS Malta - General
I agree with everything that you have said, well expressed and from the heart. LOL Les.
My favourite airline and Yours? British Airways
I have, over the years, flown by many airlines and luckily, with very few poor airlines. In the UK we have many operators of package holidays who try and pack in as many 'bums on seats' as possible and milk the passengers for as much as possible. Some years ago I stopped using these 'Charter' airl...ines and have enjoyed flying ever since as a result. British Airways is very good but I have had many better and well attended flights on Thai and also Singapore Airlines. From check-in to landing these two latter Airlines know how to look after you. Lufthansa is very good, very efficient and alwys punctual. I first of all find out what aircraft the airline is using and obtain a seeting plan (These are easy to obtain) to find out whether I will be comfortable with the leg room. Now I must stop as this is looking more like my review than a comment on yours. Good luck with your excellent writing. Les.Read More

Gibraltar Rock on Spain - General
The rock of Gibraltar deserves a much more detailed opinion. I found most of your review cynical but true nonetheless. I have been there many times and there is much more to do than visit the many pubs - still every man (or woman) to their own delight. Les.

Go to Snooty Ooty Ooty
I read, recently, that the owner of the Ooty private club where a young army officer invented the game of snooker, that she expects all visitors to wear collar and tie and keep up the old Raj spirit of the stiff upper lip. Some things will never change.
Blue Mountain Home. Coonoor
Hi Preethven, I agree in principle, the world is better looked at through rose coloured glasses. In this case, as you say, misty blue. The misty blue of the blue mountains.
Estepona - Truly an Andalucian Gem. Spain - General
Hi Preethven. There is nothing difficult about learning Spanish, or any other language, for that matter. It is a matter of a little application. You learned English didn't you? And very well might I add, your colloquial grasp of the language is fantastic, you have never been to England!! You ther...efore never need to go to Spain. It does help though!! That is the reason for, 'Quando in Espana'. When in Spain - as in When in Rome do as the Romans do. LOL Les.Read More

Want it right? Do it yourself! Finding Last Minute Bargain Airfares
I can't write from experience of American services but, here in England, it is the same. There are so many services offering all sorts of prices that the mind boggles and you can spend very unwisely. I use the internet to book fares but check through each before I commit myself. You find that on ...any particular day or time that different services can either be better or worse than on another day.Read More
Walk, don't run... Mount Abu
Preethven obviously loves the place, that fact not only shines out from his opinion but it is in every word that he writes. To have a place that you can relate to, to dream about, like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz, is marvellous. Such a place as Mount Abu is one that I can dream about. I was there ...when the World was a much more peaceful place than today and I was young.Read More
Ooooh-ty Ooty
Like you I can remember, across the years, the smell of eucalyptus from the blue mountains. From your comments you have also been to Mount Abu? If so, can you let me know what happened to the Lawrence Memorial School that existed there during my stay which lasted up until 1943. I was a pupil of ...three Lawrence schools - Sanawar, Lovedale in the Nilgiris and Mount Abu.. Regards, Les.Read More
