Very well written review, Ms. Raina. I know that sentiment perfectly well. There is nothing to beat the taste of home, the taste of childhood!

That's the great thing about Isaac Asimov - he writes science fiction in a manner that seamlessly interweaves fact with fiction in such a way that to the reader, the fictitious bits become preeminently believable. This book will take you so convincingly into the never-never realm of Time Trav...Read more

Why just for old people? With its fibre content, cholesterol-lowering properties and nutritional value, I would say it makes a very healthy breakfast for today's stressed-out on-the-run generation of youngsters slogging it out in BPO, Sales and other high tension jobs. You know that saying: 'Breakfa...st like a King...' well, if you're a health-conscious King, this is what you should have.Read More

Director Martin McDonagh does not, sadly, make very many movies. He should. Because, as I've mentioned in my title, nobody makes movies that are edgier, quirkier and more fraught with surprises than this gentleman - who incidentally has also written the screenplay. This is one of those movies...Read more

I saw a live performance of Ham Se Hi Hai Yeh Sab by Sanjo in Hyderabad last month. Awesome song!

Great review, Ms. Madhu! You might be interested to know that after suddenly going missing for many months, Sanjo (Sanjo The Balladeer) made a surprise reappearance in Hyderabad. The off-season notwithstanding, he performed some brilliantly innovative shows - including a magical blend of Music and H...andicrafts (Clay Modelling) and an engrossing Music & Storytelling session. Initially, we thought he was back in Hyderabad to judge Battle of Bands being held at Hyderabad Central but later (via a broadcast on AIR FM Rainbow Hyderabad) we came to know, he is launching the second album. It is called Ham Se Hi Hai Yeh Sab. That is why he was missing; he was putting finishing touches on the album, working with Chandrani in Delhi.Read More

Brilliant, brilliant review! You have managed to write about your own perspective and yet pack in so much information. Thanks for the heads up on the new album. Another reviewer told me about it. Will check it out - in fact, been waiting a long time for it, having heard some of the songs in Sanjo Th...e Balladeer's live concerts. Thanks again!Read More

Dear Ms. Sharmila Vedantha, Thank you, I stand corrected. And yes, during his shows, Sanjo The Balladeer always makes it a point to credit the lyrics of songs from the second album to Chandrani. However, I didn't know that Chandrani had a role beyond the lyric writing function too. If they are... still working together as a duo that would make this a decade-long partnership which is pretty awesome in these days of one-song wonders.Read More

Dear 'TheWriter', LOL! You have heard wrong, Ma'am! The first album (Barson Huey, reviewed here) had two songwriters: Chandrani and Gaurav. Chandrani also sang on the album. That was in 2006. From the second album onwards, Sanjo (now known as 'Sanjo The Balladeer') has been writing and comp...osing on his own. So your last observation about Sanjo now being a solo act is correct. Thanks and keep writing!Read More

There is one thing in common across all the reviews that I have read for this album: there is a lot of curiosity regarding the new albums from Sanjo The Balladeer. The reason I feel is the long gap between Barson Huey and the new material. To me, it is difficult to fathom why this gap is happening. ...There are so many new original songs that Sanjo performs during his regular live appearances at various different venues, and even on radio stations and television shows. So why the delay in releasing these songs to fans who have been waiting for so many years? One of my friends who is a journalist with a leading media group speculates that it may be because the label that handles Sanjo The Balladeer has changed management and there could be legal issues about ownership of Sanjo's creative work. This sounds realistic. In fact, it is the only plausible reason why an artiste would create new material but not publish/release the same. Let us hope all these issues get resolved as soon as possible.Read More

Dear Ms. Deepika Narula, Thanks for reading and rating my review. To answer your question, I am honestly not too sure about the precise names of the albums. Yes, Sanjo does mention them during his shows but sadly, I didn't 'Save' the information. However, numerous media reports mention the upc...oming album as 'Ham Se Hi Hai Yeh Sab'. The second upcoming album - I have no idea. I have seen Sanjo The Balladeer up close and personal, performing the title song from 'Ham Se Hi Hai Yeh Sab' and it totally rocks. You should see the audience reaction to the song. Sanjo always invites the audience to join him on the chorus and the resultant group singalong is so overwhelming and inspiring!Read More

Dear Consumerpower, Yes, all the shows that I have seen of Sanjo The Balladeer have been in Hyderabad/Secunderabad. But from news reports and other sources, I do know that he also performs in Bangalore, Jaipur, Neemrana, Dehradun and various other cities.

Dear 'The Writer', Thank you for your response. During his live performances, Sanjo The Balladeer frequently mentions two upcoming albums - one which is ready for launch, an album of social awareness songs; in fact, he performs several songs from this album my favourite being an environment prese...rvation anthem called 'Ham Se Hi Hai Ye Sab'. The second album is an English album containing some of Sanjo's hugely popular hits like 'Whisky', 'The Journey' and 'So Far Behind'. I hope this information is useful to you.
