This car is certainly on my "to buy" list. I presently own a Tata SUV which serves me well. I bought the latest Tata SUV for the ride, durability, interior space, and the negotiation of rough roads and off road terrain - but the Ambassador - a favorite in the South India of the 1970s prior to my...Read more

ai used to rock.....no you're right, perhaps recently they've lapsed due to intense competition.
look at the overall picture in india today - there is definitely a correlation between the india I knew when I traveled on ai - and the materialistic mess that is present day urban india ....
beli...eve me, sai, india was much gentler, kinder prior to this 'liberilization' - i was a kid when i immigrated to the usa - but i still remember getting up before a movie, and watching a short of the tri-color (B&W albeit) to the tune:

Maximum Head Crack (trust me, I knew this "enitity" in NY in the 1990s when he was writing filler for a computer magazine).
The problem with this book is that I could not read more than ten pages commenting: "Yeah, that Desi is at it again!" - in other words - having known this guy way back w...Read more

Khushwant Singh writes well - which was evident in the old days when he was with Illustrated Weekly and more recently with this more recent work. The book hops from different eras in the history of Delhi - modern to historical.
The prose is humorous, pithy and very satirical in some passages...Read more

(2) existential malaise and morphing into a despised insect(The Roach)
(3) having to fears of self hate despite his good looks and charm

Something tells me that MAXIM is no longer on my favored reading list. From a Vedic perspective, this "kama" - or more specifically pornography - is sort of tame compared to the filth one finds on the Internet.

Salma Agha - I would get a cough drop from her (Vicks) - implying I smoked too much. Ive met much prettier woman (for example Brooke Sheilds in NYC in 1987)- and she (Salma-ji) has a terrible nasal voice - again, I live in India part time.....
