The 1st IFB technician did a shoddy job while replacing the transformer. Didn't put heat resistant insulation jacket on the connecting wires. The 2nd technician said that the transformer shouldn't have been replaced at all. So guess its all a scam to screw up as many things as possible in the mac...hine and rip off the customers.Read More

Two weeks now and the machine is still not functional. Now they say that they don't have spare parts in Bangalore if you can believe that! Their service managers don't even know what parts they have replaced a week back.

Update - Another IFB technician visited my premises yesterday. So far a different technician has shown up every single time and is oblivious of what the prior person did. This guy now says that the transformer was ok and shouldn't have been replaced. Thankfully, I hadn't allowed the earlier e...ngineer to carry away the replaced transformer with him. The service engineer had done a shoddy job of insulating the wires of the new transformer and I could see a naked wire with burnt out pvc tape insulation when the machine was opened again today. Now he says that the Magnetron is damaged and that will cost 1800 rupees. The microwave was working fine with just some enhanced sound when I complained to IFB. NOw they say that the magnetron is gone which I am sure is due to the negligence of their engineers when replacing the transformer. Someone from IFB called up after reading the mouthshut review but their franchisees still haven't mended their ways. Nobody showed up today as promised yesterday and now they say that the magnetron is not in stock and will take a few days. With IFB Its buyer beware.. they leave you at the mercy of unscrupulous and untrained franchisees for after sales service whose only objective is to fleece you. Read More

I purchased and IFB 30 SC2 Microwave Oven from Reliance Digital in 2008. On 31st May 2011, I lodged a complaint with customer care for the microwave not functioning. It took over a week and over 20 phone calls to customer care and the franchisee of IFB service center to rectify the problem. The... franchise charged me nearly 3000 rupees for replacing the diode and transformer. The microwave stopped functioning within a day of repair again. I don't recommend anybody to purchase a IFB product ever again. The company uses franchisees for running its after sales service which are staffed by unprofessional elements with little or no training. I have other appliances from LG and the difference in standards of service is really stark. My appliance is still not functioning and I feel cheated having spent 3000 rupees on its repair and trusting the brand name of IFB.
