I bought the IFB 2002 in 2002. But it is not the shape shown in the picture here. May be the company might have modified the looks.

Before me bought a microwave, everybody advised me againt it telling that almost every microwave in almost evry homes are laying idle. they said it wont fit with our indian cooking. But sure I found that wrong and was using the appliance almost everyday.

My headaches started the day I booked one. (Booking was necessary as my town was a small one, and the dealers didnot keep one at the shop) It took almost 1 week for them to deliver one after me making the full payment. I was made to believe that the grill is a perfect grill, and I can have kababs and tandoors every day. But it did not work as expected and after a couple of months the grill stopped functioning. Then I called the service center. The service engineer then tells me that only convection grills will do the job. I could have bought a microwave without grill and an ordinary grill with the money I spend for this.

Another couple of months passes uneventfuly. By the time my guarentee period gets over. Now the microwave gets very enthusiastic and starts running even befor we enter the settings. If it is defrosting or low power, the machine runs at full power untill the supply to it is switched off. Initially it was an occasional event but later become a habit.

Now again I call the service centre. Two 'kids'in a motorbike come and declare it is a major trouble and need to be taken to the main service center. I burn Rs 300 worth petrol and takes the gadget to the service center 100 km away. There it spends a clean 6 weeks and comes out with a service charge of Rs650. Then I burn another Rs 300 and on return find that the entire setting is out of order. When I defrost it grills, and when I grill it cooks.. When again contacted the service centre, they were insistant that I should burn yet another Rs 300. So I entrusted the oven to my original dealer who was good enough to get it repaired at another service center.

So now the oven is back with me.

Its 'stainless steel' interior rusts.
