Rang De Basanti is a great effort, commendable for concept and for the guts (UTV for attempting to make this film) which only a talented director like Rakesh Mehra could have done justice to.Highly recommended!

Performance-wise, Rang De Basanti clearly belongs to Amir Khan. He takes a giant leap in emotional moments, handling the most difficult scenes with aplomb. In the light moments he is in total command, not going overboard one bit. His overall look and performance deserves the highest marks.Soha Al...i is a revelation! The actress who to date has yet to impress on the acting front delivers a performance that takes the viewer by surprise. Although her portions are just OK in the first half, its the second half where she strikes the viewer with a convincing and confident performance. Kunal Kapoor handles a difficult role with remarkable ease and delivers a knockout performance. Alice is fantastic. Though she tends to go overboard in a scene or two, the actress does manage to hold your attention at most times. She is like a breath of fresh air in an industry of beauty queens and pin-ups,Madhavan delivers the best performance of his short career and is a surprise packet in the movie in a miniscule role. I have found Madhavan either annoying or wooden in all his films to date but here he is extremely efficient and plays his part to perfection. Sharman Joshi is total natural throughout and his delivery are spot on. Read More
