My mileage was also near 21 to 22 for some time. Reading on the meter never went up above 7.8. But after about 3000 km, it improved stedily. Today I filled in 9.4 kg for 232 km. Mileage will improve. CNG does not redce the engine life. Google and you will get sufficient scientific answers to your ...query. Team BHP has also given a very elaborate reply. To the other query regarding spare wheel. It cannot be accessed easily. Very tough and after 8 months I have forgotten it. Will have to speak to the Honda Service person to refresh my memory and maybe practice once. Cooling is first-class. Mileag does drop a little bit with the AC on. I always drive with the AC on to cut out the noise and dust.Read More

Richie, Removing the spare wheel is cumbersome. The rear seat is to be swivelled forward towards the front passenger's seat (pivot on left side behind the driver) and the spare wheel can be accessed. I have practised twice and can do so in an emergency.

Dr Nitin, Buy Petrol Brio and convert to CNG. Don't worry due to its effects in terms of mechanical deterioration on gasoline engines - that is urban legend! Liquid gasoline sprayed into cylinders are immediately transformed into gaseous elements, and so does CNG which when decompressed turns int...o gasesous element. CNG is Cleaner, Environment friendly, more economical etc. BUT EATS UP SPACE. If boot space is a must then compromise is necessary. Diesel cars, on the other hand, require more maintenance. The weight of the engine also causes more wear and tear on the tyres. If the tyres get imbalanced, then the deterioration is faster! More vibration also causes long term problems. Read More

1. I got the CNG fitted by the Honda Dealer before delvery and got the car registered as a vehicle modified for CNG. There are a few Brios in Ahmedabad running on CNG. It is legal otherwise neither would the Authorised dealer fitted the kit nor would the RTO registered the vehicle. 2. Is it a norm...al Kit or sequenttial..?? Not sure. 2.The CNG cylinder takes in about 9 kg. I don't think a larger cylinder can be fitted (no space). 3. I get about 14 kmpl on petrol and about 22 on CNG. These figures are different from the ones reported by me earlier.Read More

Iyer, CNG factory fitment is Rs 60000. A little more for registration. I am on 'only petrol' now and displayed mileage is 14.6 kmpl. I will switch over to CNG after i fill a talnkful of petrol in a day or two. CNG mileage will be known in a month or so. Dealer says CNG mileage is about 25 km per kg.... Will report actuals.Read More

Two Months since I bought the car. It is converted to CNG and got it registered. I believe that my car was one of the last to be converted by the Company. New owners will probably have to get it fitted it outside. Insurance, Warranty and Registration etc will be impacted. Observations are: ...Read more

Jas, If U try to move from 0 in second gear with half clutch and drive in similar style, the mileage U are getting is not unexpected. Except in Delhi, one can hardly use 20% of the available power. 30 kmph in fifth gear is definitely better than most cars. Baleno, of course, used to pick up from... 25 kmph in fifth gear. Driven carefully, this car has a decent balance between ample power and good mileage.Read More

Answer to your queries. If the fuse blows, change it. Fuses rarely blow. In my 12 years of extensive driving....never. If you are so concerned, ask the service mechanic to give U a 20 min lecture and U will be able to do it yourself. Except for Bihar / West Bengal roads, bottom will never touch... if driven carefully. Friction is higher due to bigger tyres but you get better grip, handling and safety. You don't notice the plastics after some time. They are not bad but Honda city, Aveo Fiesta are miles ahead. My mileage in Delhi is 13.4 after 3500 km (Traffic is much better than Mumbai, b'lore, Chennai etc) and 17 on two highway trips that I took. Better than all other petrol vehicles other than Honda City which is again atleast 1mile (15 to 16 in Delhi by collegues) ahead. Read More

Comparing Aveo with SX4 is pointless. Aveo has typically good finish but falters on all other fronts. SX4 mileage in Delhi's speedy traffic is 12.5 to 13 kmpl. I have done 3500 km and find it is a fantastic car. The only other alternative is Honda City, albiet with lesser features.

Baleno exchanged to SX4 club. (BETS) I am also a member. Rear seat headrests are tolerable when fitted front side back. It allows the rear passenger better recline too.

Smartdoc is a diehard anti-maruti man. He has now said that Maruti guys are fixing some problems with the SX4 and hence the delay. Downright stupid suggestion. He is mebbe jealous since he probably got his City before SX4 was launched. The back of the envelope calculation of 100 cars is appears ...pretty accurate. 3000 cars a month with more than 20 dealers in Delhi alone. All dealers must be pulling strings to get more allotted to their showrooms. A lot of dirty play must be underway. Bottomline is that if one is stuck with a smaller dealer then waiting period of two months appears inevitable. Presales service is being compared to after sales service. What is pre-sales service other than smooth sales talk. An advice to all U guys waiting for the SX4. 1. It is a fantastic car. 2. It is way ahead of its competition. 3. It is not perfect.. but no car is perfect. 4. Patience is a must since the demand is quite unprecented. 5. Swift diesel and SX4 ZXi have both more than 2 months waiting period. 6. If one loses patience and buys another car, they are losing out on an exceptional product. 7. City, Fiesta, Verna etc are all good products. 8. But only City and SX4 will dominate the roads and be convenient in terms of spare parts, service support, life expectancy, resale value etc.Read More

smartdoc, Congrats on your Honda City. I have heard that the demand for ZXi is far greater than VXi and the production is running full capacity. As far as advertising is concerned, Maruti havent believed much in it. The Zen, another splendid car was advertised only in 1998-99 after Santro gave so...me scare. That too only paper ads ('Energise Yourself'). I have got my ZXi delivered in 5 weeks and the wait is worth it.Read More

I got an initial mileage of 13 in Delhi yesterday. This included a lot of experimental driving, acceleration to 120 kmph on Greater Noida expressway, testing of brakes from these speeds etc. I am confident I will get a mileage of about 14 kmpl on a regular basis.

Vikashv, Dilsoft has hit the nail on the head. City spares are thrice as costly as SX4. SX4 is more economical to maintain. People preferring refined 77 bhp to raw 100 bhp is again presumptuous. What matters really is the power in the midrange and SX4 has loads of it. SX4 suffers in comparison... only in high end performance above 3000 rpm. For you who is going to drive 355 days in the city, it is this power that matters. The Autocar magazine has reviewed in favour of SX4 in this regard. Regarding your comment that City VTEC is not meant for people doing 'petrol consuming calculation'. I feel that the SX4 worth 3/4 million is also not meant for 'petrol consumption calculating people'.Read More

vikashv, You have presumptuously assumed mileage of SX4 as 10 and 14 for the Honda City. Many reviewers have reported mileage between 13 to 15 for the sx4. Honda city definitely will have a better mileage but not 40% better than the sx4. I agree that old Zen cannot be compared to the City. City... for 7 lakhs also cannot be compared directly with sx4 due to ABS, airbags, music system, automatic air conditioning system etc. Unfair and biased I think. City is a wonderful car but the SX4 is 'wonderfuller'.Read More

I got my SX4 yesterday. Will review later. I got the ZXi in 4 weeks. I used carrot and stick approach. At times threatened them to recover the interest on the advance I paid. At other times I demanded to speak to sales person's team leader and then to the manager. I also used the threat of ca...ncelling the order since some other dealer promised me a faster delivery. Through persuasion and occasional aggression, I managed to get the delivery faster than I expected. I believe the delivery period is near 2 to 3 months now. The VXi is not selling as well and the dealers, sensing the buyer's frustration, of the are pushing that model. They may even offer minor discounts. All you ZXi buyers, wait, pressurise, call on higher ups in the organisation, make a forceful show when the showroom is crowded etc. Persistence and patience will pay off.Read More

Dear Banjo, Registration and SMART card takes about 3 months in Delhi. Till then, the invoice and the gate pass that the dealer gives you are sufficient. U have said that the invoice is also not delivered. I am not sure what U are referring to. The invoice is required to issue the gate pass. In...surance is on-line but till the registration is done the insurance policy page will not be given. The cover note of the insurance is sufficient to claim is required. Mileage depends only on your driving and the traffic conditions. Mileages of 13 to 15 appear achievable. But having driven in Cal, I know a major part of Cal has lousy traffic. I suspect U will rarely go above the third gear. Mileage will be bad. Have patience. These things will get sorted out. A good bout of shouting and abusing will give you your much needed attention in the showroom. Dont worry about musclemen. This is not a night club to have bouncers. Best of luck.Read More

Dealers will keep promising the moon with a couple of stars thrown in. The avg delivery period is 4 to 6 weeks. The Manesar plant where the SX4 is being made is working to full capacity. Due to a large number of bookings, the delivery period may even get extended. Patience is required. I have g...ot good service from RNS in the past.Read More
