Very nice review. It was quite interesting considering that i havent seen the movie/heard about it... Def makes me wanna see it. I just think you might have held onto the story line a bit and not done such a good job of revealing it.. Maybe spoken a bit more on what the movie meant to you and did f...or you... Oh well.. thats my 2 bits worth, considering I am the 1st one to post a review.. YIPPEE!!! Cheers and Peace AmithRead More

U wanna really see bias, then listen to Tony Greig..Maan that guy is so biased its not even funny. According to me one of the best commentators is Ravi Shastri, followed by Harsha Bhogale (Indian) and Ian Chappell and G.Boycott (firang).. These guys are a revelation as regds balance, poise, know...ledge and professionalism. Its uncanny how events on the field unfold exactly the way these guys say it would. Gavy analyses well, these guys can predict what the captain should do... Brilliant. Cheers and Peace AmithRead More

Let me be the first to comment. Sunny has always been biased. Whether it is for Sachin, Mumbai Lads or India. It is especially refreshing to see someone who is so unashamedly pro India. He does not hesitate in holding back if he see’s someone unnecessarily criticizing India/Indians. This do...es not in any way hamper his professionalism. He just puts things in perspective, which so many of the ‘lick-white-booty’ Indian commentators do not do. Secondly everyone has the right to a personal life. You are asking Sunny to be superhuman. Which father will not be proud of the slightest achievements of his ward?? And his son has managed to break (and I mean Break) into the Indian National Team, and in the brief glimpse we have seen of Rohan, he has more than amply proven his caliber, whether its batting, bowling or fielding. How can anyone object to a father cheering his son for a great achievement on his own time? As you rightly pointed out Sunny was cheering his son standing o/s the commentary box. NOT while he was on the job. Why, even if on the job so many times commentators applaud a fine effort. And this was a fine effort. A 50 is not to be sneezed at, ever. As regards the partial treatment, are you aware of the fact that Rohan has been performing superlatively at the first class level and has had to wait for so long to get a break only because his last name is Gavaskar? It is precisely to avoid these claims of partiality that Rohan languished at first class level, despite lesser talents getting breaks before him. Pls do get your facts right before you say something. The only good parts of the review were the presentation, language and attempts at balance by lauding Sunny’s efforts as a cricketer. But that’s not what we are talking about here, are we??? Cheers and Peace Amith PS:Pls do m2m me if you decide to change anything. Will be glad to re-rate. You have a nice style of writing.Read More

Lip Smacking fare from the goddess (again). Great review and I agree with the shallowness of the movie. But enjoyable never-the-less. Only one line I absolutely do not agree with 'MEDIOCRE'. Huh!! Julia Roberts is mediocre.. Sacrilege... ;-)) And pls don't tie urself in knot(t)s with BBAAD puns..... heh heh u're not the only one with horrible puns, eh!! So howz exams goin? Hey tdays my lucky day!! This is the second review I'm the first off the mark. First of all a warm welcome and hope many more reviews of this quality flow from u're keyboard. Great review, with amazing clarity and the way you moved behind the director's motive's really makes for good reading.... The formatting was also top of the line. But if you would only include the details of the cast and crew, then it would be even better. Also some usage of Bold and Italics makes the review more reader friendly. All said and done, a fantastic first effort. Are you sure this is your first review?? Keep on writing and take care... Cheers and Peace AmithRead More

Hey Jeff, Good review buddy and welcome to the world of MS. Since this is one of your earlier reviews I have rated it as VU. But honest feedback demands that I tell you the following. Thoughyou have a good ability to paint a picture of the movie with your words, a movie review is incomplete w/...o the mention of the cast and crew. Also some degree of formatting (usage of bold and italics and para's) will go a long way to making the review more reader friendly..... Read up a few movie reviews, like cinemaniac's. He really makes a movie review an art form. But good review never the less and do M2M me if you change the review. Cheers and Peace Amith PS: Love 2b the 1st to comment... heh heh Read More

You don't want this to be depressing, but it is... Brilliantly written, I like the way you paint a picture with words. Kudos and hats off to you. I also loved the dreamy manner in which it flows. You really are a great writer. As a review its great, but too one sided. I always look for balanc...e in any review and that is lacking over here. The way you have written this review, there is nothing good to be had by being on the same planet as Howrah Station... ;-) Also it will provide the same image that is always presented to the world. India, the dirty, flea ridden, unhygienic hell hole, that one must avoid at all cost. I don't think it is as BAD as you've put it. But hey, if thats what you feel, then so be it.. No issues with that. The rating does not reflect the idealogy/thought of the review, only the contents and manner in which those thoughts have been presented. Also the review seems a bit too focused on only the beggars and you may want to dilute that a bit (its the main piece in 2para's). Maybe add some some details on the historical value of Howrah Station and Calcutta + Bengal too. Just an idea, but it would add some more weight to the paper. Cheers and Peace Amith PS: Thanks for the M2M.. Wouldn't wanna miss this review, and I hope you take my comments & rating in the spirit in which they've been offered.. Pls do m2m me if you change any part of the review. Would love to re rate it. My reviews are on their way.. Promised myself this w/e.. heh hehRead More

Excellent review on a not so easy topic. A speech well made can be a tremendous confidence booster and a major kick. Another thing that works well (has for me), is to keep a lookout for a friendly face. There is always that ONE guy/gal who will smile and listen attentively. This person is a wond...erful balm to calm jittery nerves. So whenever I feel a little lost in front of a large audience I shrink the audience down to the micro level and focus on a few friendly faces. It works wonders. Cheers and Peace.Read More

Wow, this has to be one of the best book reviews I've read (and I've read and written a few). Succinct, simple and comprehensive. I must say that the book sounds extremely like a PGW/JKJ work and though I have not had the good fortune to read Durell, I plan to correct this sorry state of affairs asa...p. Much obliged to you for writing this wonderful review and introducing a new author to me... BTW, I've got a couple of Golden Retrievers and am happy to meet another dog lover.. :-) Cheers and Peace Amith PS: Been a loooooong time since I've visited MS and feels good to put up the first comment on a review...heh heh!!Read More

Dil Khush kar diya aapke review ne. Bade dino bad I've re-entered the world of MS and its great to see your review. You've written well on an extremely thought provoking topic (film) and it gladdens my heart to see the response. The day this country starts respecting women and giving them the pride ...of place in society, is the day we can call ourselves a civilised society (refer my review on Vagina Monologues). Loved the lazy style of your review, which seems to have been inspired by the movie, and I really hope more such movies are made and reviewed here. BTW, are the Bby guys still meeting and if so, then pls tell me abt it.. Ciao and Peace Amith PS: Loved the title..which though misleading makes sense finally.Read More
