hey im back. well, i DID NOT expect ''udaan'' (Hello! its a rare gem, it'll be a wonder if we encounter something like that anytime soon!) Well my views on DG are similar to yours. the movie starts well, a one night stand between a new york returned and a painter ...and then it goes downhill. ...See thats the thing abt attempting to make a movie on a bustling lively beloved city- you do not want it to be cliched (local trains, crowds, rush hour, etc) and hence she took an alternate path. a dhobi, a new york returned, an artist and a new comer from a small town – each uniquely different , from a different background and different outlook to life- each moving in their own comfort zone, their own lazy pace. A good idea to begin with – but then Kiran perhaps didn’t find it necessary to do anything else! She just left them there, bumming around, bumping into each other. Well, if this is all I want to see I would just walk out of my house eh! No novelty abt bumping into dhobis and parsis eh! Theres just SOOOOO much that could be done, but the movies just dead. Amateur. Boring. Avoidable! Perhaps it would appeal to the international audience. The way we watch European / Mexican etc movies in awe, they would watch “MMumbhai” in awe… but hell this aint no Amore Perros, so good luck with Aamir Khan promoting this one at the Oscar types. For the record, I yawned watching Peepli Live too. Read More

My sentiments exactly! i didn't feel it was a bad movie, but it was missing its tadka even its salt pepper! It started off well with a one night stand between a new York returned & a painter... Then it just went downhill. Not only were the characters unimaginative i do not understand what could be f...ascinating abt the guerrilla camera work in mohd ali road! I guess thus could fascinated international audience like slum dog did. Like we get interested in European Mexican etc drama.... Byte thus ain't no mores perros. ! So good luck to Aamir than promoting this one for 'Oscar'' nominations!Read More

Enough has been said about the book and even more about the movie. So the woman not only holidayed, meditated and met the new love of her life half way across the world- but she made tons of money w...Read more

Heres one movie that I feel is severely overrated. The intent may be good, but I was yawning & waiting for the movie to get over. The audience laughed & sniggered at all the cuss words while I wondered how stupid could their sense of humour be. The media ceased being funny long before the sharmila t...agore comment. It was boring. & repetitive. Just didnt work for me!Read More

This is a review for the Korean "A Tale Of Two Sisters", as I do not know where to look for the mouth pad!

Asian Horror is apparently the hottest kind of horror. It's in and you cannot ignore it if you're craving to get spooked and have your heart race faster than the speed of light. If t...Read more

Is the biggest reason to watch a movie or read a book is fascinating storytelling? Do you get so engrossed that you are hardly aware of your heart palpitations, salty tears rolling down yr face. Your brain is so transfixed to the storyline that it stays so, long after you've switched off the tel...Read more

AND a mark of a good actor is versatility. He/she should be able to slide into any role however simple or complicated it is. & if he /she cant, may be he/she is not so talented after all

Abt Kareena, i'd always disliked her. Till one day i saw a very old interview on koffee with karan. She had blonde hair, wore a ghastly outfit AND was loud & stupid. But what I couldn’t help admiring was her confidence & her damn guts! She had the audacity to say that she had 18 flops after 'poo' in... k3g AND that she commands a better price than rani mukherjee (sitting next to her!), both in one show! She didn’t pretend to be world wise. Or suave. Or mature. Or the greatest actress. She was just herself , without caring a damn! That’s when I realised why she is a star! So cheers to some one who can be herself! Abt abhishek, well its easy to say he should pick his roles carefully, but we know that there are only handful of good roles one can have the opportunity to do in a lifetime. Actors need to keep doing small, passable roles in between 'darn good' roles too. If by doing a smaller role (like in yuva) one can shine brilliantly, theres no harm ! Read More

Im not talking abt 'writing him off' but abt simply to avoid putting all eggs in on basket. He has been brilliant in many multistarrers & two hero movies, so he may as well stick to these & shine no? than to gather unecessary flak with all the wt bearing his shoulders? one needs to get their strateg...y right. Look at kareena, cant call her talented, and her hit to flop ratio is terrible, but is still the reigning queen cuz she distributed her effort. look at rani, brilliantly talented, but her career went down the drains once she focused on YR films & YR films only! Even super talented ppl like aamir had to get their strategy right. Like ABjr prob suffocates in his fathers shadow, every person on earth have their own devils to fight.Read More

Like I'd mentioned earlier: We may love Abhishek Bacchan, but it been 50 odd movies - don’t filmmakers get it? He is NOT a bankable star! Barring only one exception (Guru), all his hits were multistarrers

W.r.t. cultural perspective of the Swedish society: I dont think this book is a reflection! Sweden has one of the best (or the best?) std of living. The muck described in the book is diametrically opposite of what is in my head, ie sweet Swedish ppl, singing abba songs and living happy lives ! ...Anyways, the dark, crude occurrences are always buried under & what Salander has faced in life is too uncomprehendable (you will be introduced to, in book 2 & 3). In fact I remember my instincts were on full alert one late evening when a cabbie tried acting funny- I dunno if it was the cabbie or a crazy gut feel – but yeah she has a powerful impact!!! not a srk fan, but i loved him in this one!! when i look back at the movie, i have nothing great to tell- not a great story , nothing out of the ordinary. YET, i was emotional all thoughout viewing! with TEARS & all- God alone knows why!! So here we get to see RAINMAN's character (lord knows w...hether hoffman had aspergers, but he WAS emotionless, smart, repetitive etc) AND we get to see forest gumps aura of how the character moves around the country being a part of several historic events inspite of his limitations.... smart kjo ;)Read More
