Your review was good, Sajitha. Infact better than the book. But, I disagree with you on the book - I didn't like the book at all. But, your review really shows how much you liked the book! Great going!

Nice review. One point, though. How can you say his life was not adventurous? He was a part of a war, he fought bravely, he lost a leg in that war! I mean, what else do you need to make your life more adventurous?

Music director Shantanu Moitra has made a stunning debut with his album Parineeta. His style is very impressive. The album has a good mixture of songs - romantic, sad and fun marriage songs. All the singers do justice to the music and the lyrics. Don't download the songs,, go buy the CD! ;-) The...Read more

Thanks for replying Neha. I have always had trouble discussing Da Vinci Code with people. The moment I say 'I didn't like that book', people pounce on me as if that was the best book ever written. Same with 'catcher in the rye.' So, just wanted to know what you thought of that book.

I have one question for both of you, PrimitiveLyric and Neha. Did you like 'Da Vinci Code?'

Thanks yet again. I really did miss the whole point totally. Can you please explain how it is about disillusionment? Can you elaborate why you liked this book? Why don't you write a review so that I will understand the book better? As I said, if you liked the book, then I am glad you didn't waste... my time like I did. I guess I shouldn't waste time on books like these. Read More

Thanks for the comments Neha. I clearly say in the review that 'I didn’t like this book probably because I am not American. ' So, there is no complaint. I know the author didn't write the book for me, an Indian. But, thats not a justification for writing pathetically. You say it's brillian...tly written? Well, good for you then. There are a lot of other ways to learn American culuture, but for me, reading this book if not one of them! And know what? A forum which I visit has a majority of Americans. And they didn't like the book because they found the langauge irritating! It's because of books like these that we get a totally wrong picture of the outside world.Read More

Thanks once again. I think I do say in my review why I don't like the book. 'Since I am not much into non-fiction, I didn’t like it.' Apart from this I do talk about the story and the writing. But, I guess I was not clear enough. I will keep your comments in mind.

Hi PrimitiveLyric, thanks for stopping by. Well, if you have read Lahiri's first book, you would have known what I meant by a short story. Her first book is a collection of short stories which are between 50 to 100 pages. In my opinion, the story of Gogol could have been told in half the size that L...ahiri used. Thats my opinion. And I do know not many people agree with me.Read More
