Pretty good review. You summed it up pretty effectively. I would interpret the end differently but I like your interpretations a lot too.

There is no end my dear, no end at all to misery in this world. And Aparna, to our discomfort, depicts that well in the end. The movie ends with everyone 'giving up' the search for Mithi. Perhaps they gave up a bit too willingly- and thats the point. How much can a relationship hold ? The sister wan...ts a life , the mother wants an end to her tortures, the ex-lover wants to go back to his wife. Man is selfish , at the end of the day. Even the most virtuous and ethical sometimes falter.
And yes, the ending shattered my heart completely. But really, did you expect a feel-good ending to a realistic movie. The ending was a bit over the top but is symbolic of what's going on inside each of the characters.Read More

Behind your review.
I agree that the plot is totally unrealistic but that doesn't qualify a film to be 'one of the worst in 10 years'. Most of the mass-oriented movies border on fantasy and its better to accept the fact that most people consider movies as getaways rather than a passionate artist...ic indulgence. Personally I don't like most bollywood (or hollywood) flicks so don't think that I am defending such movies. However out of the average stuff that is thrown at us, KNPK was actually pretty good and entertaining. This is only movie that my grandmother and my grandmother actually liked(they are really old fashioned).
Also, I don't see how Amisha qualified as a talented debutante and Hrithik didn't. Anyway - you are entitled to your own opinion as everyone else.Read More

I liked the review. Don't understand why others found it irrelevant. Try Sartre if you will - a much better writer and totally unpretentious - although you may find some drama - the real kinds :-)

you cut out some exaggerations. I think re-refering to your previous reviews is totally unnecessary and irrelevant to a reader interested only in the review.
Otherwise I agree with some of the things you mentioned. Bhansali never was a great director, and never will be - he is not one of them.

Depression differs from stress in the way it effects a person. A depressed person is more likely to be withdrawn, be unaware of his surroundings and his state of mind, and probably deals with many negative emotions ranging from guilt, remorse and denial. A stressed person is in a position to make a... judgement and take decisions effectively but his actions are temporarily clouded by prevaliling conditions. Stress brings anger, irritability and a string of health problems.

I had Thai Iced Tea last week for the first time in my life. Boy ! it was so unexpectedly great. They serve it with a little cream which floats on top and then slowly mixes down. The taste reminds me of WOOD !! Fresh wood ! But very delicious at that !!

with how you felt about Henry. His character was somewhat shallow when I first read the book. There are hidden symbols. I also liked the movie but thought it didn't do perfect justice.

I agree completely with your views.
Since so many people follow the lady, they've joined the 'herd' too. Atlas Shrugged is one of the five popular reads of this century but does not figure anywhere in the top 100 critic's choice.

Its one of my favorite books too. Especially beacause I'd read it as a teenager. It made a lot of sense then, at a time of growth and turmoil.
