Well if all the supporters of AMWAY feel that Kumarasamy was cheated by the unethical distributer , can't you guys do something to help Kumarasamy get his money back through your rich diamond contacts. Can this issue be reported to AMWAY or to consumer court or its just lucky go merry business.

Well prashantmailme, its completly normal to disagree since no two buyers are same. For your profile you have listed down your requirements and assumptions in your article , here is my thought on that : There are three dangerous assumption 1) There is no Interest on extra 1 Lakh you are paying fo...r a diesel car. 2) There is no extra maintainence cost for Diesel vehicle. 3) You will sell your car in few years . How does things look if I put a small finance touch to your engineering brain ? have a look Lets say your few year is 5 years , you sell your diesel car in 5 years and I assume you sell it for 40 thousand more than a petrol car (assumption). For the time being I also accept your assumption that 80 thousand fuel saving will be there since you drive almost 40% of your time on highway. You total saving with diesel is 40 + 80 = 1.2 lakh But dear 1 lakh car loan at 10% interest is wopping 1.6 lakh at the end of 5 years or 1 lakh saving today is equal to 1.6 lakh, 5 years from now ...time value of money. So you will be still at a loss of 40 thousand at the end of 5 years , with extra engine noise, extra maintainance and unnecessary desire to run the car more to recover you cost. Give me some more thoughts to trust your ideas :) Read More

kschandrakanth and Girish , You guys are wrong , upfront payment is costly. Just think how much is interest on 1.6 lakh per year at 10%. its around 16 thousand. If inplace of giving this money upfront you keep it in yearly fixed deposit you can pay for your term policy for next 35 years and still k...eep this 1.6 lakh in account :) Upfront payment are never smartness :)Read More

I am sure you are not running a car rental agency. How could you make up for 1 lakh upfront cost in 1 year could you throw some calculation. Especially how is top up difference between petrol and diesel is 2500-1000=1500

Diesel engines are talk of the town these days. Diesel does have low price as well as high mileage, so a double benefit. I though of doing a mathematical analysis using some basic business concept I learned in my MBA to know which car(diesel or petrol) is better for a person who drives around 10...Read more

DS- 10 - DLF in Soup

May 14, 2009 12:43 AM (Updated May 14, 2009 12:55 AM)

Another follow the herd article Well its easy to repeat media news like a parrot, the author wrote a similar article prasing DLF for the same project :) . Well try to look at things which look too sparkling from a distance. Did you ever see a BBMP notice for any builder in last 5 years , even when o...range properties was selling crap? Why BBMP is crying without taking any legal action ( read carefully only warning are given). The fact is this : 1) Tussle between BDA and BBMP , both the authority are still negotiating the approval boundaries. 2) DLF’s going to BDA for first 4 floor approvals , 3) BBMP jockers are not govt employee unlike BDA .They are elected municiplity member whose fate hangs every 3-5 years, strategy simple pocket and run before the election comes. What builder will try , well delay or pay to jocker who are staying atleast for another 3 years :) if election happens inbetween another round of under the table payments awaited. 4) If you read the application form and talk to the customer who bought these flats , they are aware of the pending approvals, they are written clearly on the first page of application form , DLF has also informed if you have 10 lakh in cash then only invest in these project because they will arrange for bank loans only after the first 4 installment . Take it or go away. And guess what out of 1000 apartment 600 got sold out in May itself.I would still recomment these appartments, they are well priced and BBMP approval is just matter of time.Read More
