FINAL UPDATE: I have got rid of this washing machine by donating it to an electrician as Bearing the repair cost, non availability of spares and parts and top it up with bad service quality was reaching unacceptable level. I would swear not to buy this brand again.

@Agarwalneena: I am not sure I can be of much help in advising on your quires, as I do not have any experience in using such corner shelfs (I have parallel kitchen as u can see) About height of wall cabinet, its again up to u for what u want to use them for. General thinking is that u dont keep heav...y, delicate, big items on top where its difficult to reach, so in my opinion, thats logic for keeping wa+ll shelfs bit small comparitively...further it de+pends on ones personal usage and take decesion...hope this helps..?Read More

@Suremam- uaually Modular kitchen people insist slab work to be made from our side, but better to insist them to take this work also so that there wont be any compatibility issues or blame games when things go wrong (high chances of things going wrong with this work) secondly slab sits on cabinets a...nd very little weight is also on wall as it would be attached to wall by few mm's. Extending current kitchen- I am not sure you will find exact match to the current slab, so either you may have to replace entire slab to new or live with mis match. If current kitchen is not modular it may be difficult have a harmony in design, there would be various other things to consider and one can comment only if see things in person. @ neeri- As I explained in my review it all depends on what elements/material you choose, size and various other factors, it can vary from 1 lac to 15 lac there is no standard rate for modular kitchen. So you may have to learn how to cut cost depending on whats your priorities and needs. (by now you may have idea of what costs how much and why)Read More

I was visiting this review after long long time... surprised (sad) to see many other people have same opinion as I had. Present state is: I am calling IFB Customer care too many times and its like nobody bothers to send any one (reminds me of the story in which boy shouted ''tiger'' to fool the vill...agers...?). But in my case problem has become too often and too un-reproducible /un predictable.....its such a waste of time energy and washing is not our primary activity in life....but i must say it has become a pain in neck......Many times there are some or other error but re start/rewash it works....Next time around i should think of LG as some one suggested here....Read More

This is the reason why I would suggest to choose local modular kitchen manufacturer against, the one who has their mfg. facility out of your city. hard luck to you ..:-(

Thanks a million for saving us from this CM trap. Lucky that I got to read all these experiences before even I attending their presentation. Even if there could be few good experiences that are not written here I definitely feel the proportions and not worth taking risk....Thanks again for all those... who had written and shared their experiences about CM.Read More

Hard luck. I always prefer locally manufactured (have factory location in Bangalore) for such expensive works, for the reason you mentioned in your review. Customer service is bad... I agree with you and all others who opinion the same here.

No useful information about the store that largely sells furniture. (mostly readders like mw are looking for such reviews and experience) This is comment about just one decoration item and nothing more than that.....

Update: 28th Oct2010 On storage space: Usually Kitchen makers promise you the design as per your requirement/need (personalized design) etc,. It’s easier said than done! I am sure we our self will not have an idea of what/how much space we require until you do a thorough study, let alone them to thi...nk from our point of view! (you may have to literally count #of boxes, big utensils, liquid containers, glass items storage, wet storage, do we have separate crockery unit planned? And like...) So ultimately we need to take a stock of what all we have in our present kitchen what all things that we will acquire in near future. Secondly How much of counter top space we need versus how much of storage space (full height storage space, which may consume your countertop space) We felt we had enough storage space without going for full length vertical storage space which could have (in our kitchen) consumed counter top space. We also felt counter top space is also very critical. Another catch is that these full length storage spaces cost more (if u are using many Blum or equivalent make for utility draws inside) So its another cost factor and how much storage space you really require. By the way we are 5 member family and we feel as of now we have enough storage space. A good tip here would be if you have scope to expand your kitchen, which is if you have space that potentially can be utilized later, I would suggest to reserve that full length storage cabinet for later expansion. By this way you will save some cost for now and you will get an idea of how much space is really enough space (by real time usage experience) and later if you think you need more space (as your kids grow) you can go for this option. Hope this helps on deciding on cabinet and other space related matters.Read More

I also share a similar bad experience with IFB same model. I completely agree with your quote ’’The problems are so unpredictable that there is no guarantee you will be able to show them to the service engineer when he visits’’

:-) may be after the 2 year warranty period you may also write the review like me? I was praising my machine for all these 2 year and recommended the same for few also. Any ways I don't want you to write review like this and wish it runs smoothly for ever.

I brought IFB digital 6 kg washing machine on 14th Feb 2005 in Bangalore from Sadashiva Nagar Girias. I was a big fan of IFB products even before using any of their product just because of their reputation and brand value. I was proved wrong soon after I had their product. Machine was OK for ...Read more
