I am a PURPLE member (highest priority & most expensive membership) of Club Mahindra since year 2003. (Now as on date, Purple member is exhausted and not available at all)
They show rosy pictures when you are invited for presentation etc but after you take the membership YOU WILL NEVER GET ANY RESORT WHEN YOU WANT IT. EVEN BEFORE 2 MONTHS !!! EVEN IF YOU ARE A PURPLE MEMBER!!
This has happened to me always... And the answer is simple: They have 16 to 18 resorts in India but they have more than 60, 000 members!!! **How do you expect to get a room even before 6 months? Also I called the resort directly and checked for rooms and reserved the same resort where I would pay the room charge and it was available even 15 days before my travel-date!
When I asked Mahindra call centre, they said only a few rooms are for members while remaining rooms are to be sold to anybody who pays money upfront!So there is no meaning in getting this membership if you can't get 2 months before but can get by paying the room charge.
So please do not go in for this membership or even any other club membership. They are here to make their money through your dreams. Your dream of a very nice vacation with your family can only be satisfied when you book 6 months in advance for the dates when nobody wants to go. Also they charge Rs10, 000.00 each year to keep your membership live as maintenance charges. They are very smart to get your money out but when you want to use the resorts, they are not available.
Please calculate the amount you are going to pay to these memberships upfront and yearly maintenance charges and work out the interest rate each year, then you will find that booking resort at your will probably 15 days before your travel-dates is better. Also now you can use various websites which offer you excellent discounts on the same resorts and book online.
I am now in a fix since My WIFE does not allow anything else than Club Mahindra since we invested more than Rs3 lakhs in the membership and at the same time, we cannot get any resort when we want it. I am duped...I feel miserable...And I want to save my fellow-citizens. Hope you find this useful.
