I can understand what you went through. It seems Airtel is quite unprofessional, which was obvious from my experience also. I think a large company like Airtel can certainly sort these things out and also train people in the call centre so that customers do not face problems.

These are basically Ponzi schemes are doomed to fail. I think one should not be carried away by such offers because nothing comes free. What use harrassment if we get or bucks free? I would say peace of mind is more important.

After this posting I got a call from HDFC Bank who explained the whole process once again. But they still could not tell me why they needed both my ID proof and also wanted me to do a transaction on a card on which the PIN was no longer active. So the card is still with HDFC Bank.I have to get a new... one now. End of story.Read More
