The first time I visited Reliance Fresh store -- it was at Yamunanagar where I had gone for a visit -- it was a very pleasant experience. It was quite different, the display was neat and the people friendly. Hats off Mr Ambani for creating such a good concept.
When I visited their Chandigarh store the location in Sector -- the location in Sector 22 is not quite nice -- I found it untidy and unfriendly. There is something wrong with the sourcing also: the vegetable are always stale. The shelves are frequently empty and I am able to buy only half the stuff I want. Everyt ime. So I have stopped using Reliance Fresh in Chandigarh.
Perhaps one needs a better manager there, who keeps track of the display shelves. If customers mess them up, the least that can be done is to make them neat again. Reliance Fresh also needs to open stores in other sectors otherwise its customers will be limited.
In other words, the concept is good, but the management and sourcing, at least in Chandigarh, is bad. I do hope the company can do something about it, because it is such a good idea.
