I totally agree with you. I am also facing a similar issue. I paid for an annual Silver Package in Jan 2012. This was to be valid till Jan 2013. However, my money was exhausted in 6 months. Reason the CC gives is that monthly package was activated on my account instead of annual !!!. And you know it...'s the consumer who is always at fault.Read More

@raahull Swift has high waist line and thick pillars. So driving this beast is like driving a SUV/MUV. Regarding reversing, it is as easy as M800(I own M800 and Swift). But if you practice reversing with the 3 mirrors(2 Side and rear view), it would be easy. Or pull yourself up while looking bac...k, when you are reversing.Read More

Hi Shybu, Few responses from exp: # Petrol vs Diesel: Cost of owning a Diesel variant of same model would break even only if you drive at least 2000 KM. Above that diesel variant would prove cheaper and below that petrol one. There is a nice article on the net that gives all the calculations. J...ust search it (and share the link). # Brand vs New: If you are a beginner and also it is first car in the family, then I would recommend to go for a second hand car. A second hand car will teach you at a low cost a basic lesson: How to handle a car. If you are an experienced driver, then there is nothing like a new car. I went for a second hand M800 before moving on to Swift VXi.Read More

Well again a manufacturer is testing its product at customer's money. I pity those people who run after newly launched models just to show off that they have some thing different. Wait at least for year before buying a new model.

@santoshphadke. I felt sorry to read your comments. It's good that you had not advised people to buy Rolls Royce or Bentley. Well coming to the point is VALUE FOR MONEY. Does it means that if I spent less money on something, then I will get poor quality thing. Ofcourse, Nano can't be compared wit...h Grand Vitara or Nano (Infact none of the Tata cars can be compared with Japs and Koreans). But if I buy a car even an entry level like nano or M800, I expect some basic comfort/safety from it as compared to a two wheeler (or a ride in state transport bus). So, the questions does Nano offers that entry level comfort and safety of a car. I won't comment on that since I don't own nano or have test driven it. But your comments forced me write a reply.Read More

@Gaurav_gg1306: Please share your experience in handling a Diesel Vehicle Clutch. I would be better if you can compare the handling with a Petrol Vehicle clutch. On a lighter node, I hope you are not suggesting a sharp learning curve if one switches to Safari, say from Santro. (I hope you remember... the famous Microsoft-GM ad war)Read More

Many people have blamed the author for not checking the vehicle before delivery. It is strange that an item worth INR 10 Lakhs has to be tested. Also it means that Tata are not a reliable manufacturers !!!. Somone, mentioned that that Safari reviews are on the extreme either too good or too bad. I... agree with that. Lets ponder over few points: # Tata and mahindra are not inherently car makers like Maruti, Honda, Ford, Toyata. Tatas were into commercial vehicles and Mahindra into tractors. # Both operated in an era where they had little or no competition. Tata was one of two manufacturers in heavy commercial vehicles. # Both of these and their dealer network need to come out of that hangover. Read my review on Mahindra's dealer- Sterling. # These vehicles Safari, Scorpio, Innova are not SUVs. They are MUVs. Search net for more details. They have market in india due to the reason thay they are cheap and can be packed with luggage and family members. # Good part of Tata's is that their vehicles are forcing the Japanese and Koreans to keep their prices low and competitive. # If Safari was such a great vehicle (as claimed by few), then we would have at least 80%-90% positive reviews on MS. Cross check this figure with the reviews on maruti suzuki's car.Read More

Well I wonder why are there problems initially, when the vehicle is just out of showroom? To me it is the result of the poor quality management practices on the assembly line and in procuring parts. Problems as mentioned: 'oil leakage + poor door close + wiper not working properly, fan belt or some ...belt broke' are not acceptable in such a costly vehicle. Even a meek new brand Maruti 800 doesn't has such problems.Read More

Thanks for the feedback. In Manaikaran Sahib, you don't have much options for the hotels. Don't remember the name but Rental was in the range of INR 300-400. Since I have exhausted the 7500 word limit on the blog, so I am adding this information here.
